I agree, clearing of a 2011 vehicle is not 250k; indeed there is no fixed price for the year of production and the model of the various brands of vehicles we have but at least you know what I am driving at. The point I am making here is that prices of cars advertised here on Nairaland are way over-priced and you Fhemmy know it.

Siga: Fhemmmy....me sef dey ship cars from Tdot...and i know how it is...just recently....a bunch of our containers got stuck in naija and all entered demourage, cos agent carry our money run....we had to pay again to clear and fines....but u cant transfer that to the customers....also...some agents clear under the table and once car is given to the customers, it gets seized....so...clearing cars officially can be expensive and...in all its a risky business....

I do feel your pain, Pal . . Last year a shipping agent from Toronto walk away with 2 vehicles of mine and i have to refund money and lost lots of money . . . Please dont ever go close to a man called OLA in Toronto, he has destroyed the life of many people and always on the RUn (he is a shipping agent, older man but demonic)

There are so many things involved in clearing a ride, i am sure and like you said, when some unfortunate happened, we cant pass it on to the buyers cos it wasn't their fault (Pre-Order) but when not Pre-Order, the seller will do all possible to get his money back on every deal and make profit, only that we have to take it easy when we naming our prices . . . . . .

chucky234: I know its hard to successfully ship cars to Nigeria but thats not enough reason for a dealer to overprice his cars.
Many cars on NL are from agents or sub-dealers who seize the opportunity of selling a single car to make money thereby inflicting the price way out of buyers reach.
If you good white guys in the US who can source cars for you then can get cars at cheaper rates in the US as they are more than Naija guys like OLA who almost ruin Fhemmmy.
I know some good and big dealers in the US that get you good deals.

How can you possible clear a 2011 for 250k when you cant even clear a 2008 model for less than 450,000. All you freeloaders. You want good things but don't want to pay. A 2011 Toyota Camry LE with a mileage of 27,000 can be bought from the US for $16,500, shipped from any of the ports in the Gulf Coast for less than $1,800 and cleared at 250K. That is roughly N3m.

But someone will come here and quote that same car for sale at N7m and above. Why?

As said by someone, it is not compulsory to buy ur car on NL since they dont sell on credit to anyone so get ur dough and get ur ride. HAPPY MOTORING
