Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes hopes to have Bastian Schweinsteiger back for tomorrow's clash with Hoffenheim.

Without their vice-captain for the past four weeks, Bayern have fallen seven points behind Borussia Dortmund at the top of the Bundesliga while losing 1-0 in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash with Basle.

Heynckes, therefore, cannot wait to get the Germany international back on board to help his side get back to winning ways after losing 2-0 at Bayer Leverkusen last weekend.

"He is an important player for our team, both on and off the field,'' said Heynckes.

"He is able to give the team impulses with his personality. I hope that he can be part of the squad.''

However, Heynckes does not expect Schweinsteiger to be ready for the full 90 minutes, if he can manage to play any minutes at all.

"He has been doing rehabilitation work for weeks so he certainly doesn't have the confidence and the physical condition to start the game,'' added Heynckes, who is therefore pondering saving Schweinsteiger for next week's crucial Champions League tie with Basle.

With that game on the horizon, Heynckes knows his side has a crucial week ahead, but he is optimistic.

"I know that we will turn the page,'' he told reporters in Munich. "I have faith in my side.

"We have a good atmosphere within the troop and that will be evident on Saturday and on Tuesday.''

The atmosphere has changed at Hoffenheim since Markus Babbel took charge and he will be looking to extend his unbeaten start to life as their coach to five games tomorrow.

He has yet to beat his former club, but hopes that can change tomorrow.

"Bayern have always had a good experience with me on the opposition bench, but maybe this run will end now,'' he said.

Sejad Salihovic will serve the second of a two-game ban imposed on him by Babbel, who otherwise has the same players available from last weekend's 1-1 draw with Cologne.
