Aregbesola Commences Road Rehabilitation In Osun by Gbawe: 12:02am On Mar 30, 2012
Sheyguy actually mentioned seeing the many construction work ongoing in Osun. It is easy to see why the PDP misfits who destroyed the SW , and their sycophants in cyberspace and on Nl, spend their time malevolently formenting lies against Aregbesola and others. For those always asking for pictures, some are seen below. No wonder the worthless 'area-boys' of the PDP on NL have intensified their attacks on Aregbesola lately. They knew that implementatioin phase is upon Osun State.

Aregbesola Commences Road Rehabilitation.

The Governor of the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has reiterated his commitment to rehabilitation of roads in the state. These are some of the ongoing road projects in the state.

Osun Allocates N19bn For Transportation;•To Upgrade Ido-Osun Aerodrome To International Airport.

In line with its determination to construct world class roads and develop the transportation sector in Osun State, the state government has allocated a total sum of N19,160,000,000 for the development of the sector in the 2012 budget.

The state Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Dr. Wale Bolorunduro disclosed this on Monday during the recently approved 2012 budget breakdown and analysis, saying that the amount, which represents 24.24 per cent of the total capital budget, takes the largest chunk of the total budget.

He also revealed that work would soon commence on the upgrading of Ido-Osun Aerodrome to International Airport in order to facilitate internal and external travels to and from the state.

It would be recalled that the last administration of Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola had about three occasions allocated not less than N2billion for the upgrading of the Aerodrome without anything to show for it.

According to him, the state government is also determined to complete all the ongoing road construction projects, which had for long been abandoned by the previous administration.

He further noted that the administration, in the current fiscal year, is determined to resuscitate the Rail Mass Transit from Okuku Station to Osogbo and to Lagos through Public-Private Partnership (PPP), which he noted, would facilitate the economic development of the state.

Under the sector in the budget, the commissioner further stressed that the administration would rehabilitate roads in all the 30 local government council areas of the state, at three kilometers per local government, with a view to ensuring that no council area is left out of the development of transportation in the state.

Bolorunduro said: “Government is determined to complete all on-going road projects, which had long been abandoned by the previous administration and new road contracts will be awarded across the state, to ensure that our road networks are in good condition”.

Among the road projects that have been listed in the budget are the rehabilitation of Ada-Igbajo-Oke Irun-Iresi road; reconstruction of Omifunfun-Mefoworade-Ifetedo road; construction of Osogbo East Bye Pass and construction of Ede-Kuta road.

Others are the reconstruction of Ijebu Ijesa-Ere Ijesa-Ibokun road; dualisation of Gbongan-Akoda-Osogbo-Ikirun road; construction of Ede-Alajue-Aminiwon-Osu road, as well as Ejigbo-Ife Odan-Owu Ile-Odo Oba among others.

The prototype school Aregbesola promised would replace schools of all levels , as the suggested solution provided during a convened summit headed by Soyinka, is now under construction currently. We all witnessed the planning phase the PDP sycophants on NL scoffed at. Whatever will blind haters of Aregbesola now talk about with this 'business end' holistic development of road, health and education infrastructure?

Osun N30 Billion Infrastructure.

Immediately the administration of Mr Rauf Aregbesola was sworn-in into office in November 2010, the governor revealed his vision to restructure the education sector in the state, thereby organising an education summit headed by renowned Professor Wole Soyinka, with a view to seeking panacea to the ailing sector in the state. Part of the conclusion of the summit is the total restructuring of the system. This piece examined the decision of the state government to rebuild schools and the feelings of the stakeholders on a project government is committing N30 billion to realise.

A journey to the 30 local government council areas and the area office in Modakeke of Osun State revealed a common feature among the public schools, dilapidated buildings, inadequate seating materials for the teeming students and the unavailability of reading materials in the buildings called libraries in virtually all the schools. This was the situation when the state deputy governor, who is also in charge of Education in the state, Chief (Mrs) Grace Laoye-Tomori, during her tour of schools in the state.

However, a prototype of the new schools the state government is embarking on is at completion stage, located at the former Salvation Army Primary School, Oke-Fia, Osogbo, for the Middle school, while contractors are at the two other sites for the Elementary and High schools in Ile-Ife and Ejigbo respectively.

The governor, while setting a committee on building the new schools, disclosed that it would build schools across the state and would be spending about N30 billion for the project which would be completed within 24 months.

The thing dey pain you? Una just begin. Sad when folks , like yourself, think they must automatically swing behind the worthless PDP and castigate the ACN because of blind and ethnic allegiance to GEJ. The ACN is not a Party of saints but they will certainly transform the SW where the PDP failed woefully. You know what they say. " Don't hate. Appreciate".

My brother, don't mind them. I won't name any names but they know themselves. They were shouting shamelessly for pictures in past threads. Now they are shamed into silence. They will die of frustration. Sad bigots. They cursed the PDP non-stop yesterday but now defend it blindly because of GEJ. Sadly GEJ is doing nothing but confirming the folly of making serious and life changing decisions based on ethnic jingoism and religous bias.

Nice move in the right direction with good timing. Even though osun is not the most financially buoyant state, Aregbesola is not performing bad when compared to others. They don't have a DESODADEC, a NDDC, or Oil companies giving 'hand outs' and CSRs but still . . .

If not listed, it will likely fall under new contract to be issued since work has to be phased so as not to bring total gridlock to the state.

Indeed. I had no doubt Aregbesola would transform osun State regarding infrastructural development. The man is passionate about that aspect of leadership. Many forget that he made his name as a highly rated road commissioner of Lagos (1999 to 2008 ) to the extent he was commissioner of the year twice. This is why I defend Aregbesola here.

He is a leader who develops and delivers, unlike many others, and should thus be supported given how Nigeria is not blessed with an abundance of such leaders. It is totally disgusting to see wicked, bigoted and cursed sycophants attempting to distract a man whose record in public office, for anyone who cares to check, shouts "performer" and "service delivery". Contrast that with the mediocre record of administrators the sycophants and bigots on NL worship 24/7.

How many times will I have to beg you guys to stop posting issues about Osun state if you're not in the state. Oga Gbawe is busy posting pictures. When was the last time he came down to Osun state to see things for himself? The same Akoda-Osogbo road that Oyinlola already completed is being listed here again as road they will be doing? I BEG PARK WELL O. Come down to Osogbo and shout his Name and see how many people will return you with slaps. He promised to start road construction in dry season, I guess dry season now start in April abi? This Governor is a scammer and I will always say so. He introduced Oyes tech for those graduateds he employed to be clearing gutter and bushes in the name of Oyes. I thought that will be a better way to help those guys only to hear that they are to pay #10,000 as acceptance fee and another #80,000 as tution fee making it 90k. For God sake 90k is almost their salary for a year. Aregbe is working true true.

You are a totally shameless and disgraceful liar who should be banned permanently. Did I present the picture of that road as "as progress in Osun" as you claim here or did I supply it as an example of a rural road targeted for upgrading under the RAMP scheme? Nairalanders can judge for themselves. Surely it is obvious what you are.

Do you want him to spam this thread to death with silly pictures that confirms he does not understand , even minimally, that this topic is about rural development and thus the most remote and rural of roads specifically used in agro-based communities and farm settlements such as that seen below?

What on Earth are you talking about ? In another thread , concerning Osun road development, you shouted you needed picture. Now that you get those pictures you move the parameter to "we should hear from people based in Osun". Many like Sheyguys, on threads you have being on, have confirmed seeing ongoing work. Yet you choose to disregard them and believe those who supply the negativity you can endorse and proclaim "god will bless you for this". It is terribly obvious you are biased. Osun folks have indeed spoken here and confirmed seeing ongoing construction work. It is obvious you are only predisposed to believeing news of a certain variety. In the end it does not matter as long as Osun develops.

The ACN Director, Publicity and Strategy, in a statement, maintained that the “reality on ground when Aregbesola took over from Oyinlola was practically useless.”

“The state was bankrupt. Government could barely function except through loans and, by the time the court asked Oyinlola out, the state was already indebited to the banks to the tune of N18.3 billion.

At that time, over eighty percent of the total infrastructure in Osun State had either collapsed or were in advanced stage of decay,” he said.

Oyatomi went on: “More than 60 percent of the projects celebrated by Oyinlola had either stopped functioning or were never in place at all.

“A few of these projects included mini water works in Iba in Ifelodun local government area; Iresi in Boluwaduro local government and Esa-Oke in Obokun local government.

Apart from a few streets in Osogbo, every other important street in the state had collapsed when Aregbesola took over.

“Such was the magnitude of the challenges which the governor inherited, that they cut through into every segment of life of Osun.

“Most hospitals had collapsed. Many schools were in a state of unacceptable degradation and the hazards to life were enormous everywhere you looked.”
