The plan to construct the fourth mainland bridge in Lagos gets a boost as the state government has concluded arrangements to concession the project.

The state Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, disclosed this during a tour of Eti-Osa, Ikoyi, Victoria Island and Ibeju-Lekki areas of the state to inspect ongoing projects.

According to the commissioner, the bridge dconstruction had been given out on concessionaire arrangement while the government was also promoting water transportation with a capacity of moving over 4 million people monthly in a more effective and efficient manner.

He maintained that the planned development would not hinder the on- going constructions at the jetties on the same axis of the Fourth Mainland Bridge.

He said that the projects were in tune with the intermodal transportation plan of the government, adding that the state would soon become a giant construction works yard for the new bridge.
