A LOVE LETTER FROM GENERAL IBRAHIM B. BABANGIDA, Mni., GCFR..TO ASIWAJU AHMED TINUBU

My dear Asiwaju, today marks your 60th birthday on this putrid plane. There is every need to give thanks to almighty Allah for his care, concern, guidance, and love over you and your family. Since Mama Abibatu Mogaji, our symbol of women activism, introduced you to me for over three decades ago, you have greatly impressed me with your ebullient lifestyle, peculiar politics of convictions, and above all, your strong determination to make the country effectively governed through your management of human and material resources.

As the years grow by, you have continued to show a stronger zeal and determination to make democracy grow by providing alternative platform to engage the ruling party. Your role as an opposition party chieftain and player has remained essential enthralling and significantly illustrative of your human capacity to make things happen. Those kind words of mama Abibatu Mogaji at our first meeting keep echoing in my innermost self, reminding me of the saying that those who succeed in life are those who stoop to conquer. You have remained a strong voice from the south west, reminding all of us of the politics of the second republic when Chief Obafemi Awolowo called the shots and gave voice to the voiceless majority..

I am kind of imagining how it would have been, if your group had not created the opposition Action Congress of Nigeria, to provide a platform to other Nigerians who are not in agreement with the PDP’s exclusive politics. You are not only doing the country a great deal of good, you are creating a political ideology that is driven by convictions to make democracy more attractive to the discerning and ordinary minds. I am further impressed by your clear cut resolve to insist that politics cannot be played as a zero-sum game in such a manner that may plunge the country into one party state. Your style might not be agreeable to everyone, but the message and end product of your struggles and political exploits, leave very positive landmarks for this and unborn generations.

Words alone may not not convey my commendable impressions about you, but at this wonderful celebration of three scores on earth, it is my onerous prayers that Allah will give you stronger and more eventful years ahead in service to our fatherland….

There was no pride in this letter. IBB was being charismatic as he can be when he wants to and most of what he said about Tinubu are true.

He was of course sticking it to someone that I will not name, but you already know.

Whatever!
I read Linda and Sahara reporters report that he (Tinubu) spent about N200Million for this same old fashioned birthday. Why must he do that? Our leaders should think of how best to arrive at self-realization than squander money here and there. See http://thewilfreds.com/self-manifestation-a-missing-secret/

Tinubu's reply.

My dear IBB, the last time we exchanged messages was when you killed my fellow SWesterner Dele Giwa. It was a rosy relationship before that imcident. He was advocating for a balance of power and good governance in NIgeria before yoiu terminated his life in order to make this country ungovernable. It would be appropriate if you dont write me again since the memories of all the bad things you did to this country still hunt me. Thank you. BAT.

@OP, scanned through the letter and even went further to take it to the laboratory to check for the "PRIDE" in that letter and the result came out NEGATIVE.

IBB is only being a gentleman in that letter. Don't your dare step on his toes so he doesn't send you a modified sample in sent to Obasanjo calling him a "A fool at 70 who isn't sure of his real age".

That Maradonna of a man could be as calm and as rough as the wind and a tonado at the same time.

As per Tinubu's Birthday;

Wednesday - they had a colliquim at Eko hotel (which unfortunately I had a meeting there too and the manner vehicles for his event especially the security men packed was hell). The practically turn Eko Hotel to Oshodi Extension on the island.

Thursday - they had his birthday bash at Teslim Balogun stadium in surulere. It took me 2 good hours to exit surulere (a 5 minutes journey on a normal day) and over 3hours to get back to surulere from Ikeja.

Friday -Had whatever they called it at the Central Mosque Lagos blocking tinubu square and environs. It was pretty hell taking alternative routes.

My question is, is Tinubu the Grand Commander and Governor General of the entire South West?

Because even the governor of Lagos State celebrated his last birthday in an orphanage so why all these funfair for a man who introduced and legalized Area boys (miscreants), Loterry (calo-calo), igbo smoking, and political thuggery in Lagos state.

This man uses most of the state funds to satisfy his personal lifestyle and converted most Lagos State owned properties into his personal belongings and also made his immediate family members and associates occupy sensitive and highly placed political offices.

This dude is undoubtedly the strongest Yoruba politician the South West have presently.

That's more like it. I am sure that was not Tinubu's write up but that would make for a good response.

grin grin grin grin
I picked the above line from the letter purportedly written by IBB and I dare say that he put himself by that singular statement as a type of Godfather who needed to be honoured by an introduction from the Mother of Bola Tinubu in question , that for me sounded like his maradonic style to be relevant in all facet of Nigeria. That for me is His Pride to put Bola Tinubu in the boyish politician while assuming the godfatherist posture at the age of 70

while reading I pondered upon the type of mindset ibB, embossed himself wiv, wile reading thru wat had already bin written, and knowing fuly wel that thz was going 2 end public, he decided 2go 4 wats writen up there.

Theres no oda view 4 me, Ibb simply wants a unifickation against the man who rtled 9ja, lnger than he did, mehn its simple logic, praise him(tinubu) he wil b happy and cal me, then 2oi5 cake is officialz cut.

I find it hard to believe IBB and his cohorts wrote that letter. Many of the vocabulary in the letter were wrongly used. The letter is full of verbosity devoid of clear and focused birthday message.

If that came from him, then Babangida was never intelligent! smh.
