It is when our fellow west african nations are in trouble that they remember that Nigeria is important.

Facing heavy sanctions by ecowas, under threats of sanctions by EU and the US, after being pointed out as a rogue nation, Mali has started to feel the heat on its economy.

This is not the way they thought it would be. Now the military leader has sent delegations to Nigeria, being the major force in west africa to call for help and bring a strong message explaining their ambition.

However Nigeria has clearly made it known to them that it would not make any decision on this matter without consulting ecowas first.
