I loathe ties. I feel like a fool whenever I'm wearing one.

My point is, it's for skinny/lanky guys. So I can understand why some guys don't mind it.
If you have a rather large upper-body, ties look & feel silly.

I love ties especially nice coloured and thin ones of the right fabric.
But I wear 'em Mondays to Wednesdays.
My boss baffles me with his fat ties, dunno where he gets 'em from.
We usually have a good laugh when he walks into the office looking tired
like the ties weigh his not-so-big frame down.

Dual Core: Slim ties and body-fitted suits.
Works well for my 6'4"* frame.

Only problem is: I always have to say no to the "are you a banker" questions. angry

What I can't do is put on a short fat tie. . . that's so village'eous.

*could be 6'3" some times

Spot on man!! I LOVE ties. And it's strictly gotta be the slim
ones.

Once i really hated wearing them, and even now i'm surprised at how enchanting i find beautiful slim ties.

I watched something on E! once about a guy who claimed he didn't think he had worn any single tie more than once. When they opened his wardrobe, it was totally incredible! The ties there would stretch for miles if they were tied end to end.

I can't hope to match that feat just yet, but since then i've made sure i have more ties in my wardrobe than any other item of clothing at any given time.

And, funny as this sounds, one reason i love ties is it gives me the feel of a cocky CIA agent. cheesy

^^ But you're skinny/lanky right?
Re: Man's Biggest Neccessary Evil In Corporate Fashion... by chubysoft1(m): 6:45pm On May 22, 2012
Ties? Huh! I hate em with passion. It makes one look like a slave.

I went for a job interview some time ago, most of them where busy wearing suit and ties, me, was on my jean and long sleeve well folded.

At the end of the day i got the job sha. I wonder what those tie-tie guys would say if they know that i got the job.

It's not your dressing that counts, it's your B-R-A-I-N!

Tie? A NO NO, i use to wear it but i struggle with breathing even though people say it's good on me and that it makes me look like a clergyman.

I just don't like the thought of tying a rope round your neck like a goat.

2buff: The Tie...

I hate ties.
And they look terrible on anyone that isn't shaped like a stick.
I have one of the largest heads around, guaranteed. This goes for my neck, and especially my chest.
I look a heck of a lot better leaving my first 1 or 2 shirt buttons unbuttoned (or 3 depending on the occasion tongue ), exposing a bit of my chest and chain.
Throw a suit on that, and I just set-finish.

But then there is always that event or that meeting that requires you put on a freaking tie.
And then begins the suffocation, asphyxiation and, as a result, the subtle crankiness on my part that stretches right through the duration of me wearing that most-abhorred clothing accessory.

Who thought it right to impose this grave evil as a necessity upon corporate fashion for men?
Women are fortunate to have all sorts of more relaxed options, and certainly NO BLOODY TIES!! angry angry angry
im sory for u.maybe u shld go reshape ur neck.lol

You're right. Ties are for us with thin and trim frames. Few things look more disagreeable than a fat tie pushed forward by a bulky paunch. grin

I've always maintained that the first fella who invented the tie should be exhumed and shot. Also same for the first person to bring it to our shores.

I have risked my life to wear tie only once!
Zuckerberg goes to work on sweater and sandals.
Steve Jobs dresses like a priest, with jeans!

The problem I have with tie is the sweat associated with, especially when you're in a busy hood or in a public transport spiced with traffic....just imagine.

i can't say an outright no to ties.
I guess it depends on my midst.
For quite some time, i've had to live without it but right now, i have to wear it atleast four times a week. Infact am wearing one right now.

Re: Man's Biggest Neccessary Evil In Corporate Fashion... by Jarus(m): 7:59pm On May 22, 2012
I'm somehow indifferent. In my days in financial service sector, tie was compulsory, so I had no choice and I didn't have any problem with it though. In my current organization, it is voluntary, so I do it like once or twice a week(Mondays and sometimes Tuesdays). But I can never think of tie except it's official.

I also prefer my tie slim and not too long.

I wore ties a like 15 times when i returned from Europe. Then i saw some nice native cloth designs that look more African than Europe. Since then, i went on native rampage and forgot my ties.

YES to a 'slim'tie on a fitted shirt
Big NOOOO to fat ties-makes one look like one born in the 18tb century
BIggest NOOOOOO to short fat ties-makes one look like a cast from a comedy film
