But, I think Linda Ikeji's Blog is more PROFITABLE.

My Reasons
1. It runs on . server meaning she does not pay for hosting.

2. She gets more ads than NL

Hosting is not really expensive even if you're running on a dedicated server.

Nairaland will definitely be making more profit because it has more traffic and returning members than linda Ikeji. People sleep on Nairalang unlike Linda Ikeji where you go to once in a while.

Nairaland also gets adverts through google.

If you ask this question a week ago or two, I will tell you that Nairaland definitely earns more if compare to Linda. I only visited Linda once and that was last year around July.

Nairaland does not get that kind of ad directly from people because they don't want to. The day nairaland advert goes public, that's when people will be fighting for even the smallest spot. Eveen without that, Nairaland still makes more money from ads than Lindaikeji. I'll advise linda to get a real website. It's really embarassing that she's still using blogger.

I think i've told him to start taking ads directly from people but he seems not to fancy the idea.

But come to think of it, if I have this kind of cash generator, I'll try to:
1. Create a good structure for the business.
2. Sell some shares and go public.
3. Acquire some other companies and manage them.
4. From proceeds, I'll build an Event Center, start a farming biz, real estate etc
...and many more
For me, I'll take NL as a business like Oando and run it the same way...

I can't just pass through this without leaving a comment. Nairaland traffic flow is neva 2 b compare to Linda Ikeji's. Despite the ads it can't be compare to Nairaland. I sometimes pass all my nyt here. Nairaland is no 1 largest forum in 9ja who make enough through adsense.

If you think about it, there really isn't any way for them to get accurate data about nairaland or linda (except if they install a websitelooker script on their site). Really, the formula these "value sites" use involves alexa ratings, alexa page visits,maybe google page rank, and general public data based on these values (alexa values are usually slanted towards tech people because tech people are more likely to install the alexa tool in their browser). That said, alexa can be a general yard stick to see how a site is performing, Nothing more.
Nairaland obviously wins here. All the stat sites tend to back this up too(including alexa). Nairaland is a forum site so it is more interactive by nature. Plus nairaland has an organic ecosystem were people come to buy and sell things.

Wondering why you guys will be comparing Nairaland with Linda's blog. Both sites are not mates at all guys.

If Seun is not making alot of money from Adsense, he wont be ignoring private ads. If he starts accepting private ads, am sure Seun will not be able to promote most of the ads on his site because of many junks some guys would want to advertise here.

But the question is if the site is more "profitable". Because like i said before, these factors don't equal profitability (Some of the biggest sites in the world have yet to become profitable yah know....)

Seuns cheques should range from 7k to 15k monthly. Maybe not up to that self, trust me I have used and still use adsense and even though I don't get. Much traffic as he does,but there are ways google calculate this traffic and not every single hit turn into dollars and cents. Anyways both of them are making money from their online hustle and that's all that matters. SEun is doing much work sha.keeping this nairaland 24/7 with probably 99%uptime no be beans o. Linda would never have to worry about that. Seun, I give you hand. Enjoy.

I think has more traffic compared to linda cuz its a forum with lots of moderators and daily posting of not less than 200...but for revenue generated i give it to linda, shes got private ads like etisalat, samsung, mtn etc and she gat adsense again
