The Black Question by funloving(m): 9:25pm On Nov 08, 2007
For years this has bothered me

Why is the black race so wasted ?
Irrespective of where the black man is, whether Africa or America, Europe or Asia, his situation is always poor and destitute.
We have achieved the least among the races
We rule the world of corruption
We have the most incompetent, greedy, self centered and selfish rulers
Our wars are among the most dastardly. Genocide seems to run in our blood
We suffer terrible people to rule over us and do nothing about it and even when we shake them off, those who come after them are just as terrible or even worse.
We have fewer geniuses
Fewer innovations and inventions
Fewer scholars
Fewer wealthy people
Put a black man in a place where a white man used to manage and he will sooner than later run it down.

I could go on and on

The question is why is this so ?

Is it lack of education ?
I am not sure because even those who have schooled in the Western world still come back home to commit all forms of attrocities and behave just like the guy who never left his black hometown

Is it a spiritual curse?
I know not but we have so many Pastors and Alfas. Shouldn't we have shaken off the evil curse by now

Did the fallen angels (demons) land in Africa ?
I doubt because I guess they must have spread all over the world when they fell. Moreover, we have heard stories of how white witches use white witchcraft to invent good while black wictches specialise in using their power to kill, destroy and improverish. ( I don't support the myth of the good white witch. A witch is a witch and it is an evil way of life)

Are we genetically intellectually inferior ?
I won't believe this because there is no scientific evidence to back it but could it be true

Did God deliberately create Blacks to be like this ?
Why would He? After all He commanded us not to discriminate and declares in the Bible that before Him, there is neither Jew nor Gentile. If He, God, does not wish us to discriminate among men, then I won't want to believe He created us inferior to other races

Is it our environment ?
Then what about the blacks in Europe, American, Carribean and far Australia, the Aborigenes. Most of them have never had contact with Africa and yet they are just in as worse shape. The Aborigenes in particular are not slaves carried away from Africa. They are not African descendants. They are bonafide blacks developed specifically within their own environment but their state is just as terrible as that of the average african. The carribean blacks have been separated from Africa for over 200 years and have had closer contacts with America. They live in an environment less like that in Africa and more or less, the same as what obtains in the US and Canada but yet for the most part, they fare far less than the other races in the American continent

So what is the problem with the Black race ?

I don't think many people have answers to it or do not seriously make effort like you to find out what may be wrong with our Continent as well as black race in general.

Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo of KICC has just publish a book which might answer some of the posters questions from both the spiritual and canal perspectives with evidence based.

Go to www.whatiswrongwithbeingblack.com

www.pastormatthew.com

where you can get the book. The name of the book WHAT IS WRONG WITH BEING BLACK

The book as I understand it is hot and kind of explain how we got where we are and what we are doing to remain there instead of finding ways to move away from it.

Typical answer, especially from a Nigerian, instead of facing the truth and finding a solution to the problem.

Do you genuinely think the issues I raised are not true of the black race ?
Do you really need proof because they abound and are too numerous to mention.

If you don't accept that you have a problem you will never look for a solution and in that case, you will remain in your problem.

Did you read PW Botha speech posted by another contributor ?
One of the things Botha said about the Blacks is that "They are good in nothing else but making noise, dancing, marrying many wives and indulging in sex". How true this is in this situation considering your naive reply because instead of thinking through the issues, you conclude that there is no problem and it is all a mind thing so we can go back to drinking burukutu, owambe parties and marry many more wives while the world leaves us behind.

Dude, wake up from your slumber and start to think.
That is actually one of the problems.
The black man does not like to think and would rather accept anything that comes his way.

That's another typical answer and manner of approach from a black man, where in the post did the poster mention the word retarted? where in the post did he say that black people can not prosper because they are black? instead of facing the substance you will prefer to burst emotionally and and find other ways of evading the questions that were put forward. People like you are the reason why africans and the black race are seriously lagging behind while others are making tremendious progress.

You will rather prefare to push hard and difficult issues under the carpet and pretend they are not happening, you will never ask hard questions and try to see if a soluition can be reached through asking the very difficult questions. you will always jump on the race card to evade looking stupid when thats exactly what you are. since keeping quite and not asking the hard questions have'nt worked for centuries why don't we change course and  begin to ask the hard questions and see if that can provide some answers for us. people like you like hearing what suites them hence they will never like to hear what they need to hear because it always sounds insulting to them.

Every body knows that the black man is in trouble but the only person that fails to understand that is people like you. when asked hard questions you digress and hold unto to something else, you start raving like cows that are infected with mad cow disease. Learn to start asking hard questions or forever  remain quite you senseless goat.

People like you will ever have it in your mind that you are backward because of your skin colour.

It is an affront to our fore fathers to mention that this age and generation of blacks is wasted.

For me ans a black man - I am not wasted and will not let your brain washed thinking pull me back in life.

The black race is not wasted - u slowpoke.
Re: The Black Question by mazaje(m): 1:14pm On Nov 09, 2007
Give substantiated evidence that will support you claim that the race is not wasted. stop arguing sentimentally and provide substantiated evidence that will show us that you are right, stop telling us what we all know is true you delusional goat.
Re: The Black Question by Odogiyon(m): 1:45pm On Nov 09, 2007
This is a great topic indeed. But never have it in mind that we are backward. Although, we got civilized very late, but sooner or later we'll rule the world. Think about someone like Gabriel Oyibo, who continues the work of Galilio. And remember, nations rises and later fall e.g.Egypt, Germany, during Napolion.
But blacks seems back ward because we dont really surport our genius. Like the guy who built an helicopter in the north, instead of getting applause, some stands and keep mocking.
Black is pulling black backward.
NOTE:there is nothing like white wicth. Inventions are odinary logical reasonings which anybody with a big mind can do.Dont fold your hands in this work evolution.

You see that's a typical black man's approach, all he knows is how to rant and cast aspersions on things he just can't provide answers to, why do you keep evading the questions? why don't you provide substantiated evidence to prove to us that you are right, your vituperative rantings will not make us reason with you. All you do is use sentiments to answer simple and striaght forward questions. I will say it again and again provide evidence and counter the argument sensibly as the poster made his case or forever remain silent you deranged goat.

Re: The Black Question by buluti(m): 11:05pm On Nov 09, 2007
@ funloving this question has always been in a lot of us. The answer can't be a simple one because the problem is complicated. At this point it is pertinent to note that this is neither an acknowledgement that the Black man is less than anybody in individual terms, but that collectively considering other races his achivements has been mininal. My thoughts and my opinions:

Lets start from our diversity which could act as a strenght but unfortunately it hasnt . Horus gave a hint without recognising it, there are so many splinter groups, ie. tribes, languages, cultures etc, we are so different people and hereis the problem we see ourselves like that DIFFERENT. Take a case of a state in Nigeria say Delta, the Ijaws, itsekiris and urhobos can't live together in peace, then think when u add the isokos and the rest.

Then looking at the micro unit, some of our parents would prefer we marry from our own tribe, why i ask them and they are like its better, you will be able to settle differences easily bla bla, ,like we don't know of same tribe divorces, then i tell them for no sensible reason i should marry ONLY from  my tribe, (absolute nonsense), point being that we don't see ourselves as the same. I think this differentiation has really worked against blacks especially in Africa, but again this arguement does not hold looking at Blacks outside Africa eg Jamaicans etc that have long left Africa because they don't have this bitter division, but still we observe the seemingly backwardness (rate of growth). The summary is that this differentiation has affected us negatively.

Then colonisation (the white man) what some call a lazy arguements i.e. blamming another man for your problems. However, empirically it has been shown that the colonial masters established institutions with very weak foundations in areas where they couldnt migrate (settle eventually) due to diseases, it has been shown that in coutries where they relocated to such as new Zealand, Australia the institutions are better proper systems were put in place. But again the arguement is what of before the white man what was the Black man doing ? then after the white man why has he chosen to kill himself and not move ahead. In my opinion we have to single the the arguement looking at after the white man (post colonial) for several reasons, easy comparison (figures are availlable) then also because the black man changed his civilisation (i refuse to think he was babaric or uncivilised before the intrusion of the white man) because the natural way of life of the early African was actually a civilisation (Egypt, Ife, Benin,Kano), his culture (ways of life) and government might have been different in organisation, covered smaller regions but still there was an administration, taxes etc.

This is were some have said that "wickedness and greed is natural to blacks" he sold his own to slavery and converted what was not his own (the mirror and gun stories) but hey can we show if it was the white man he wont do the same?

Lets think on this for now, please note correcting the mistakes of the past is possible and not the arguement, the arguement is why are we like this TODAY, so please don't bring the it will be better tomorrow arguement.

I have several other points to even the current day issues of the black man, but for ease of reading lets take it step by step.
Re: The Black Question by Blackcat(f): 4:11pm On Nov 18, 2007
The black race is neither in trouble nor retarded.

The answer to why it seems the black race is backward is because of these reasons.

1. No love

We do not love or show respect to one another. I live in Europe and 90% of the people that are racist to me are mostly blacks. E.g. Walk into an African hair saloon to make your hair and let a white lady walk in at the same time the reception is completely, glaringly different.

2. The cause of Cain

Cain killed his brother and God caused him and put a mark on him so that whoever saw him will not kill him but God never changed the cause. We are the descendants of Cain and still carry the cause and the mark (Dark skin)

GENESIS: Chapter 4. Verse 9-15
9And the Lord said to Cain, Where is Abel your brother? And he said, I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper?
10And [the Lord] said, What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood is crying to Me from the ground.
11And now you are cursed by reason of the earth, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother's [shed] blood from your hand.
12When you till the ground, it shall no longer yield to you its strength; you shall be a fugitive and a vagabond on the earth [in perpetual exile, a degraded outcast].      13Then Cain said to the Lord, My punishment is [c]greater than I can bear.
14Behold, You have driven me out this day from the face of the land, and from Your face I will be hidden; and I will be a fugitive and a vagabond and a wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me.
15And the Lord said to him, [d]Therefore, if anyone kills Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the Lord set a [e]mark or sign upon Cain, lest anyone finding him should kill him.

3. The cause of the free born sold into slavery.

We sold our own into slavery. Has anyone thought about all the causes that these slaves poured on the black race and the continent before they were sold, died on the way to plantation camps, raped or tortured? Millions died; which means millions of causes are hanging on out heads.

Solution:

1. All African leaders should come together and pick out a day in the year, to pray for the souls of these free born that were sold into slavery and let this day be celebrated every year from generation to generation.

2. The Exodus: Apologize to the children of these slaves and ask them to come back home. It doesn’t necessarily mean they will all come back but some will come back. I believe that will be a good start.

3. Lets love and respect one another. “Remember divided we fall”

4. Ask God for forgiveness again for the sin of Cain by changing our evil ways. “being our brothers keeper” which ironically we are not.
Re: The Black Question by Horus(m): 4:40pm On Nov 18, 2007
2. The cause of Cain
Cain killed his brother and God caused him and put a mark on him so that whoever saw him will not kill him but God never changed the cause. We are the descendants of Cain and still carry the cause and the mark (Dark skin)

Dark skin is NOT a curse.Dark skin is Melanin. This is why Africa is behind, because they believe that they are cursed and are accepting the theory that God had cursed black people, racists have used the curse as a Biblical justification for racism. These racial and ethnic interpretations of the curse and the mark have been largely abandoned even by the most conservative theologians since the mid-20th century, although the theory still has some following among white supremacists and an older generation of whites, as well as a very small minority of African Christian churches.

GENESIS: Chapter 4. Verse 9-15

We sold our own into slavery. Has anyone thought about all the causes that these slaves poured on the black race and the continent before they were sold, died on the way to plantation camps, attacked or tortured? Millions died; which means millions of causes are hanging on out heads.

Solution:

I disagree wiht you concerning the curse of cain. Where is the anthropological evidence that Africans are descendants of Cain ?
After the great flood the whole world was destroyed and restarted by afresh by Noah. We are therefore all by extension descendants of Noah - black, white, yellow, brown, all descended from Noah and his family.

Moreover, there are millions of Christians (Born Agains) among the black population. How do you convince me that these people who supposed to be free from the sins of their fathers and their own sin are still living under the Curse of Cain, assuming we are descendants of Cain?
Our salvation should have delivered us from the Curse of Cain but unfortunately, lots of Christians suffer the same backwardness as most of other Blacks. This implies that the problem transcends the simple explanation of the Curse of Cain.

Much as I believe in the spiritual I don't think we need to blame the spiritual for everything.
God can't be so "wicked" as to send a whole race to everlasting perpetual backwardness and destitution for a sin committed by a man who lived long before this generation of blacks came in to existence. Punishing innocent people for the sin of their ancestor is not in God's nature

I am more apt to agree with you concerning the curse of the free born sold into slavery. It maybe the genesis of our problems and I agree with you that black leaders and African leaders world wide should come together to pray and ask for the forgiveness of the departed slaves and ask God to have mercy on our fore fathers who sold their own into slavery.
Lets also beg the present descendants of slaves (mainly the Afro Americans) for their forgiveness. It might be a good starting point.

Re: The Black Question by Blackcat(f): 5:24pm On Nov 19, 2007
Thanks 'funloving' at least for supporting some of my points .

Now talking about curses and in reply to this statement you made "God can't be so "wicked" as to send a whole race to everlasting perpetual backwardness and destitution for a sin committed by a man who lived long before this generation of blacks came in to existence. Punishing innocent people for the sin of their ancestor is not in God's nature"
God can indeed "send a whole race(sex) to everlasting perpetual backwardness(pain) and destitution for a sin committed by a man(woman) who lived long before this generation"

These curses I have listed below, were placed on man before Christ came and you will agree with me that they are still evident in our every day life. Please see below for details:

1. The curse of pain during child birth.

16To the woman He said,
         "I will greatly multiply
         Your pain in childbirth,
         In pain you will (Q)bring forth children;
Yet your desire will be for your husband,
And (R)he will rule over you." (Genesis 3:16)

2. Curse of man ruling over a woman.

16To the woman He said,
         "I will greatly multiply
         Your pain in childbirth,
         In pain you will (Q)bring forth children;
Yet your desire will be for your husband,
And (R)he will rule over you."
(Genesis 3:16)
3. Curse of Man's labour

17Then to Adam He said, "Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree about which I commanded you, saying, 'You shall not eat from it';
         (S)Cursed is the ground because of you;
(T)In toil you will eat of it
All the days of your life.
      18"Both thorns and thistles it shall grow for you;
         And you will eat the plants of the field;
19By the sweat of your face
         You will eat bread,
Till you (U)return to the ground,
         Because (V)from it you were taken;
         For you are dust,
And to dust you shall return." (Genesis 3:17-19)

4. Curse of the snake moving on its stomach:

The LORD God said to the serpent," [Deut 28:15-20] Because you have done this,Cursed are you more than all cattle,And more than every beast of the field; On your belly you will go,And [Is 65:25; Mic 7:17] dust you will eatAll the days of your life; (Genesis 3:14)

Conclusion: "After the great flood the whole world was destroyed and restarted afresh by Noah." but the curses survived the flood. I still believe we are the descendants of Cain. Have more biblical proof.

How many times will I say it in this forum? BLACK IS BAD!
Re: The Black Question by egin(m): 7:11am On Nov 20, 2007
funloving, I agree with all the points raised. It is the race that is the problem. I believe God never created us to be the same as other races. God created us for a different reason and that is exactly who we are. Religion has not helped either as the black race has the most pastors/alfas per people. Closeness or even living amongst other races has not helped. It is just who we are. I am beginning to believe that nothing good can come out of the black race. We are living witnesses to the amazing transformation in Asia and the Middle east yet we have nothing to show for the tremendous natural and human resources that we have in the Sub-Saharan Africa where majority of the Black people are concentrated. Some people blame slavery for our misery, I don't. The situation is so bad now that some people will even pay to be a slave. People sell their assets, borrow just to get out of the misery, come over to the western world where some take up menial jobs and face uncertain future.
Re: The Black Question by wendymanda: 7:16am On Nov 20, 2007
So should we cry and wallow in the brainwash that "black is bad?" We might be the worst race but I think slavery is the reason for that. In that we are the only people in recent history that underwent such a belittleing experience. So every other race looks down on us. We have inturn been so brainwashed that we are inferior that we buy it.
Re: The Black Question by denex: 9:15am On Nov 20, 2007
Well, I'm not black O! Those of you who are black can go to hell and rot with your father the Devil.

EVERYTHING THAT IS BLACK IS BAD. IF GOD IS BLACK, THEN HE'S BAD!!!
