My nissan maxima 2000 model behaves erratically. Atimes in motion it will just stop accelerating no matter how the throttle is depressed. The tachmeter will get to 4000 rev and stay there. If the car is restarted everything becomes fine again and it will accelerate. Imagine if it happens when i want to overtake!! I have tried the following.
1.Scanning and it does not show any error code with different scanners.
2.Swapping the MAF to another car and using , still same
3.Changing the transmission oil to with the specified oil, still same
4.
Please any ideas
thanks

Have you tried checking the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) mounted on Throttle body? Hope none of your engine vacuum line is leaking (vacuum leak)?

There is this Nissan guy in this forum, Nisspart, i think. He should know what is wrong, if you can get hold of him. But check the two things i mentioned above. They can give such symptom, if faulty.

Ikenna.

will try that, my only problem is the erratic nature of the problem. Thanks

let me tell u the truth cos i use same car V6 engine.

Get a good scanner. There are some scanners that would bring out no code(s). Those scanners are lower level.

Im talking from experience.

Again u need to be more specific on ur challenge. Does the car goes into limp mode whilst moving or whilst starting?

You may start with Ikenna's recipe. If there are no codes thrown I guess it means there are no electrical issues. Check your vacuum lines for leaks and your throttle body for dirt.
