I think most folks from the SW have worked out what is written below for themselves i.e the machinations of the PDP all aimed at destabilising the SW to aid their return to power. Even on NL, we see how the biggest detractor of Aregbesola is a paid hacks of the PDP who is not even from the SW yet he has the biggest pretend headache on behalf of the region.

Why FG, PDP Target, Blackmail Aregbesola.

AregbesolaFresh facts have emerged as to the reason why the Federal Government and the rattled Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have targeted and continue to blackmail the governor of the state of Osun, Mr Rauf Aregbesola.
OSUN DEFENDER’s investigation revealed that the PDP at a meeting held shortly after the conclusion of its National Convention, concluded to regain the South-West, considering the status of former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the party, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, the National Secretary, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, the National Vice-Chairman, South-West, Mr Segun Oni, the likes of Chief Bode Judge, Chief Ebenezer Babatope, among others.
It was learnt that Obasanjo’s resignation came on the heel of the need to concentrate on the South-West politics with a view to reclaiming his status and glory in the region.
Sources within the PDP confided in OSUN DEFENDER on Tuesday that the PDP chieftains resorted to concentrate their attacks on former Lagos State governor, Senator Bola Tinubu, Aregbesola and other Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) governors in the region.
According to the sources, 70 per cent of the party chieftains at the meeting moved against concentrating attacks on Tinubu, Aregbesola and other ACN governors, premising their objection on the fear of losing the fight.
Those who opposed the plan, according to the sources, said that the party lacked the strength to wage war against the ACN governors and Tinubu, suggesting that it would be better to target the front runners of the ACN in the region.
The sources said the PDP chieftains concluded to launch attacks on Tinubu, Aregbesola and Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State in their first phase of political calculations.
Finding showed that those that selected Tinubu, Aregbesola and Amosun included, Oni, Oyinlola, George, Senator Iyiola Omisore and Babatope among others.
Their arguments in the selective launching of attack on Aregbesola were (1) that the PDP would have a soft landing in the region ahead of the next governorship election, if it successfully distracted the governor from fulfilling his campaign promises.
(2) That if the PDP creates hatred for Aregbesola and incite the public against him, members of the public in the region would detest ACN and subsequently reject their government.
(3) That Aregbesola is the leading outspoken governor of the ACN and the closest to Tinubu and that any attempt to destabilize his government would weaken other governors in the region, which would eventually, lead the party to disarray.
(4) That there was need to keep Aregbesola busy with a view to preventing him from strategizing for the party.
(5) That if the Federal Government is incited against Aregbesola through frivolous allegations, President Goodluck Jonathan would be compelled to wage war against the governor and deploy all resources to capture the South-West.
OSUN DEFENDER gathered that the PDP chieftains concluded to explore Aregbesola’s commitment to his religion, Islam, his personal security men (TAWUN) and his defence on true federalism.
In concluding their plan, the PDP chieftains reportedly assigned Oni, Oyinlola and Omisore to execute the plan and monitor Aregbesola.
The controversial purported security report from the Department of Security Service on Aregbesola on his alleged plan to islamise Osun and secede from Nigeria, has been linked to the plan of the PDP and the Federal Government to destabilize his government and throw ACN in the South-West into confusion.

Below, articulated by an Ondo ACN leader, is what they are afraud of. This is why their paid hack and confusionist on NL is busy trolling and spamming the forum with Nazi flags and shouting "fascists" everywhere .

It is easy to see that the PDP is afraid the SW, under the ACN, will lead other regions to rebel against a central arrangement , devoted to the divide-and-rule mantra, used by looters and criminals to plunder the wealth of a nation and discourage the sort of vision that will make every region realise that they can develop at their own pace via fashioning unique solutions to peculiar challenges within a nation genuinely practising the true fiscal federalism the ACN continues to demand.

What is the attraction in the Action Congress of Nigeria that made you leave a party believed to be performing?

Well, without going too far, you can see what is happening in Lagos State when Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu did 8 years and was fantastic. Babatunde Raji Fashola came on board and he is doing his second term. If you were in Lagos about 20 years ago and you go to Lagos today, you hardly find your way home. If you look at Osun State with the short time Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola came on board; look at what has happened in Ekiti State; Ogun State and Oyo State. The Yoruba culture and philosophy of governance is unique. We have looked at the situation in this country and we believe that we have to do a sort of regional alignment. We are not saying we don’t want to be part of Nigeria but let each person operate according to its culture, that is when we are going to develop. What we are saying is to establish true federalism in this country. There are a lot of things we can do in common as we have been doing it before. So, if the people in the Northern region also have a lot in common, the people in the Eastern region have a lot of things in common, including the people in the South-South. Our own brand of democracy is different from the type of brand you will find in the other parts of Nigeria.

So, Action Congress of Nigeria wants to do things according to our culture and when you are talking to the people on the same frequency with you, it is very easy to understand one another and do things together.

OmoLisabi: PDP has Failed i swear, Westerners are much more enlightened than they think. They are rabble rousers

Indeed. They are very scared over the prospects of not gaining power lost in 2011 and losing positions currently held, in 2015. If the Party has folks with an iota of decency in them, they will view performance as the best way to regain or retain or gain political office.

Instead mischief, thuggery and chaos is what the PDP prefers same as how some of their "killers" are using Boko Haram to murder innocent Nigerians in cold blood. Look at their 'Oga Pata pata' who is failing woefully as President yet still having the time to tell everyone he is free to contest an election that is 3 years away.

I only hope CPC can sort it's issues out ASAP so that the PDP can be further decimated in the North as well. Once majority control is lost, the PDP will have no choice but to embrace , as a result of pressure from the political majority, all that can develop Nigeria that the PDP is deliberately working against currently.

These are the sort of talk the PDP , focused on central looting, don't like to hear at all.

Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, on Thursday, condemned the concentration of powers at the centre and urged the regions to brace up for autonomy.

Presenting a keynote address at the ongoing South-South Economic Summit in Asaba, Delta State, Soyinka flayed the non-development autonomy of the Federal Government and urged the regions to call the shots to relegate the centre.

“Let each regional groupings collaborate to create a community of interest to manage the natural and human resources, and become creative and more productive.

“Let each state call its conference and begin to relegate the centre.”

“Begin to engage in policies that reduce the ability of the central government to impede the development of the constituent parts,” he charged.

In his remarks, the Edo State governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, said South-South governors and the people should come up with realistic actions.

According to him, despite the fact that the nation was centralised, there was increasing poverty and joblessness, adding that government must encourage job creation and growth, so as the keep the youth busy and improve security.
