“Where are the northern governors? We hear of multi-billion naira that is spent to erect fences around the government houses; then what happens to the citizens? We must take stock and also take responsibility.”

Danjuma sef dey give self- righteous advice.

How about you return back all the proceeds from the oil block Abacha illegally dashed you without any due process whatsoever??

How about you stand with those calling for Subsidy Probe Prosecutions and sponsor civil society groups to fight this rot. As in put your stolen wealth where your mouth is, sir.

IS this not the same Danjuma that has served in many regimes and has an oil block worth a billion dollars while nigerians are languishing in poverty? The man is part of the problem. Those who come to equity should do so with clean hands. Danjuma should keep quiet, his hands are not clean and he has no moral right to be talking. If a jerry rawlings coup happens, he will be one of the targets and he knows it.

Is this the T .Y. Danjuma that killed Ironsi?. In 1966, when the Northerners killed 100,000 Igbos, this man participated, He looked the other way while Igbos were killed. Think of it , 100,000 mainly innocent women and children, of Igbo ethnic group killed within 6 months
Even Boko Haram have not killed up to 2 percent of that. Nemesis don catch up with Nigeria.
Why didn't Nigerians condemn the killings then. In the whole of nothern nigeria then, no single person came out and spoke against the killing of Igbos then.

God is watching Nigeria , No shaking.

diluminati: i wonder the level of commonsense seun has to put this nonsense on the frontpage. why will you be asking if Nigeria is on fire? what impudence?
Where have you been?

I hate it when these biafran babies start crying to derail every thread. Talking like their soldiers didnt kill anybody at all. Until Ojukwu says Nigeria is on fire, nobody has the right to say it. Nigeria is on fire. Period!

A loving mother has a diary where she record events. Her baby is just 3weeks old and the most common word in the diary is "Bomb Blast" Invariably, the three weeks old baby is already experiencing bombs and some peeps here are crying Biafra. Tribalism and complacency! Ask the Rwandans how it all started? Its better we find a solution to the "northern biafra" thats budding in this country.

*hisses*

Danjuma received the oil block legally as the laws of the land as at then stated that oil blocks are to be awarded at the discretion of the Head of State. We must be fair to him, after all can you compare Danjuma to OBJ or Saraki or Diezani or ....... (fill in the blank)

i dont think this is all about Biafra , who sided who and why the sided the people they sided ,
This is all about very daft people who bungled a lifetime opportuinity they would have used to
set thing right forever and instead they chose they option of becoming soldiers of fortune and opprotunistic politician, now the hen has come to roost and some fools are blaming GEJ as if he has anything to do with the present crisis which the people who dumped Aburi accord caused.

The following people who have been gallivanting as heroes of the civil war and defenders of the unity of Nigeria should come can fight Boko Haram and leave GEJ alone.

This same TY Danjuma boasted that if OBJ was not elected the president in 1999 he would go on exile and only for him to say that he regreted making OBJ the President after 8 years

Let me warn the SS/SE that this war is not for them , they should as much as possible avoid being dragged into the main stream battle only for the bastards that dragged them to fight against them in the name of keeping Nigeria one.

BS!

Show me that law.

Stealing is stealing. No difference between all of them. If Nigeria can officially go after the loot Abacha awarded to himself "legally" no reason why Danjuma's Oil block largesse should not be among.

Wrong is wrong. He has no moral right to preach.

This country is cursed period. We shall know no peace. The blood of the innocent Biafrans that were slain is hunting the country. The only solution, "split the damn country" To heck with SNC, true Federalism. Anything short of disintegration, the curse will still persist. The great Odimegwu Ojukwu's idea of secession and disintegration must be fufilled before Nigeria will ever see peace. Unless BH can burn the whole damn country down for all we care.

PS: Like KettyKin warned below, the SS and my SE folks need to stay away from this war.

Re: TY Danjuma - Nigeria Is On Fire by PointB: 8:11pm On May 02, 2012
In 1966 Captain Danjuma was involved in a counter-coup with the 4th Battalion in Mokola, Ibadan. On July 29, 1966, Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi spent the night at the Government House Ibadan as part of a nation-wide tour. His host, Lieutenant Colonel Adekunle Fajuyi, Military Governor of Western Nigeria, alerted him to a possible mutiny within the army. Aguiyi-Ironsi desperately tried to contact his Army Chief of Staff, Yakubu Gowon, but he was unreachable. In the early hours of the morning, the Government House Ibadan was surrounded by soldiers led by Theophilus Danjuma. Danjuma arrested Aguiyi-Ironsi and questioned him about his alleged complicity in the coup which saw the demise of the Sardauna of Sokoto, Ahmadu Bello. Although some have argued that Fajuyi was not a target in this counter-coup, Danjuma, Walbe and others have gone on record to say that they probably wanted him "for questioning" as much as they did his boss, Aguiyi-Ironsi. Fajuyi was seen as a so-called progressive, who had supported the Nzeogwu coup in January of that year. The bullet-riddled bodies of Aguiyi-Ironsi and Fajuyi were later found in a nearby forest, and Yakubu Gowon became the new military head of state.

Whenever the history of Nigeria is relayed, the role played by T.Y Danjuma would not be forgotten whether in his course of duty as a soldier or in his course of duty as a tribalist- representative of northern cabal. Which ever is the case, he's part of, and beneficiary of the rotten Nigeria system. Killing of a head of state who you are supposed to protect for no reason than to satiate the demands of your northern cabal is difficult to justify. After 50 years, we remained lame and perhaps in a state of coma. Only time will tell whether we will break up or not. The fact is that millions of Nigerians are fed up!

For those crying for revenge I pray you live longer than him, have more money than him and become more relevant than him. He and his beautiful wife are known as the dutch and duchess of Nigeria, enjoying their riches and travelling all around the world while some people are seeking revenge for an old man naturally close to the grave ain't dat ironic.

The man is proferring solutions that should be taking seriously, once again some educated ignoramous blinded by tradition and superstition have applied sentiments to it. All over the world wars were fought, europe, americas, asia, africa name it. While the rest of the world moved on and are better for it,here in africa its always about the blood that was shed crying and that,s why we can't move forward. The europeans took us as slaves and shed our blood, are they not progressing. The dead stay dead and will not resurrect or has anyone on nairaland seen a ghost before.
