Sagamite asked a question about the strategy, the airport from conception was not meant to be an international airport, the government of Attah saw that airlines were spending a lot of money on taking their planes out for repairs, so he decided to build an airport where those planes can be repaired, when Akpabio came in, he decided to do away with all the legacies of Attah by first of all converting it to an international airport (waste of money) before doing what it was really meant to be. The praise Akpabio is getting might be deserved but what I see in that state is sterile development (good roads that do not enhance productivity, cult filled government and intolerant attitude to opposition). I do not pray or wish Akpabio on Nigerians, he can be Governor of his state but no one should even try making the guy the president of Nigeria. |

Too bad many nigerians are very shallow. |

blink182: in your dreams, if its by performance, Fashola ȋ̝̊̅ƨ̣̣̣̇̇̇ first in line.Fashola did more of renovating and beautifying the what had existed before, more like restoration.Akpabio built from scratch.I'm from there,so i know what i'm talking about! |

solomon111: Which would you prefer, Please be more specific and name names, if Fashola is the spineless governor, then you do not know what it takes to govern Lagos, can he do better of course he can, but is he spineless, far from it. As per Akpabio, he is building infrastructure no doubt (he did not start from scratch) but a lot of his development is sterile and his people are not empowered, infact, they live in fear of the guy, as long as his people like him sha, then I have no wahala, I am more concerned about the south west. |

Yea, good job by Akpabio. Now, what is the feasibility of the enterprise? Today, the once hailed Tinapa is groaning...what is the long term arrangement and marketing for this project? What legal framework is in place? It is not shouting about big projects, then a few years later it becomes a white elephant...God forbid. Secondly, why is Gitto handling this project when the have abandoned the Eket-Oron East West road after collecting bulk payment on the job. The little Gitto has done is so terrible you'll think it was done by a backyard construction company. RCC has done one of the most admirable construction on their section (PH-Ogoni-Ikot Abasi) of the road. In Angola, and some East African countries they've been declare personae non-grata due to corruption, sloppy jobs and job abandonment. I wish Akpabio well, but I smell a rat...with those guys involved. |

Akpabio has won the heart of Nigerians, a dynamic Governor. He has transformed akwa-ibom into a mega city. But also the people of Akwa-ibom are responsive to his transformation efforts. Fashola has tried but the people seems to be sabotaging his efforts,e.g dumping of wastes on the streets and in drainages, destruction of street lights, destruction of beautification barricades, burning tyres on the road during riots shows that LAGOSIANS ARE NOT APPRECIATIVE of the transformation efforts. For fashola's own case, most of his projects are very mega e.g badagry-orile road and eko atlantic city which are very hugh project. I feel he should have been doing more bridges and road than these mega projects |

To be a performing governor in Nigeria ,you have to recruit good photographers ,kill and kidnap people, stop opposition by all means, hire painters to paints old projects, steal money, share it with police and pay for some awards. |

We may have been part of the former Eastern Region. But our langauges and culture are TOTALLY different from the Igbos (no offense). |

^^@ocelot2006, are you currently in Uyo? How is work progressing on the new airport terminal? I know it was contracted to Alcon, but I can't seem to find pictorial progress of the work activities online... |

ocelot2006: Guy you are so dumb and I often feel embarassed that anyone from Akwa Ibom state would have your level of IQ. No offense. So, what culture and language do you share with say Edo or anyone from across Opobo westwards that is closer than what you have with anyone from the Igbo or Efik in Cross rivers? Honestly, people like you would never have been recruited into the army in the days when individual intelligence was a factor in the recruitment process. The other day you were threatening Cameroun with Exocet missiles even though you have absolutely no clue how the missiles are deployed, and whether the Camerounians may acquire them faster than Nigeria. You are an embarassment to Akwa Ibom. If not for the Careytommy's of Akwa Ibom, I would have thought that all Akwa Ibomites are goats. Anu mpama. |

Anyway, please do list out the similarities the Igbos share with the Annangs, ibibios, Oron, obolos of Akwa Ibom state? You, sir, give a new meaning to the word "m.o.r.o.n".Bloody a.s.s hat |
