BY WISDOM A HOUSE IS BUILT- Proverbs 9:1 When i was a kid, i remember my mum being a great cook,we always looked forward to her dishes, one night in particular after a long hard day at work, mama pkaced a plate of stew and an extremely burnt yam in front of Dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed, yet all Dad did was reach for the yam and smiled at Mun and asled me how my day was at school, i dont remember what my answer was but i di remember hearing my mum apologise to my dad for the burnt yam,i will never forget what he said 'HONEY' I LOVE BURNT YAMS. Later that night i went to kiss Dad goodnight and asked if he really liked burnt yam. He wrapped me in his arms and said 'your mama put in a long hard day at work today and she is really tired and besides A BURNT YAM NEVER HURTS ANYONE BUT HARSH WORDS DO. I love this post but the issue is that such men are scarce. At times, d women dnt bother to apologize cos de believe that the man should eat whatever he sees or prepare it himself. The temper we observe in most ppl in naija is just like d naija weather, so harsh... Aish! |
