The recent Dana air crash was a gore tragedy to behold. A plane crash-landing on a residential area right on top of a building took not only fatalities from its passengers and crew but also from innocent residents who never knew a Dana airline was arriving Lagos that day. It's such a pity. Unfortunately, what has happened has happened. The bottomline here is to learn from our mistakes for the sake of the future. The normal Nigerian mentality is to blame the government for any of its woes. But with the emergence of the fact of poor maintenance issues that Dana Airlines have been having with the said plane, that's really puts them in bad light. Especially as a foreign-owned company which should be setting standards for Nigerian ones, it was really a dissapointment. The NCAA(Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority), the government body in charge of aviation has also being inefficient in the past. If they had a strict system where maintenance issues are not undermined, I think we would have been saved from a lot of air crashes. So to avert another National disaster, who do you think deserves the blame: Dana Airlines, NCAA or the Nigerian system? Also what are your recommendations that should be done to improve the aviation sector, so we could be air-crash free like some nations have been for several decades. |
