Plane Crash Versus Road Traffic Accident(why This Hypocrisy?) by ACM10: 12:35am On Jun 06, 2012 |
More people die on our roads every year than air. Former Commonwealth Secretary General, Chief Emeka Anyaoku described our roads as "worse than that of war-torn countries". Our roads can be best described as death-traps, especially the roads in eastern, southern and western part of the country. Yet this issue is at the back-burner of government agenda. Should government concentrate more on improving air safety to the detriment of road safety? Isn't it a sheer hypocrisy that we are so fixated on plane crash rather than road traffic accidents? My condolence to the families of those that lost their lives in Dana plane crash. |
