Ninilowo: Same happened to me. The child is now in SS1 while those blabbing then are now envious. When there is an error from our children, we should not treat them as outcast. That is when they need us most. Let us rebuke them in a loving manner cos the deed has benn done already. casting out cant solve the problem. Envious of what in particular? |

jmoore: you still don't get it. killing 3-5 yr-old kids would be murder while flushing an embryo isn't murder. an embryo cannot be qualified as a person. a 3-yr old kid is a person! 12 inches!: and this is exactly why no one should live the life of a single mum... you dated her and you left her. heaven knows the number of men that have strolled in and out before and after you. is that the environment a child should grow? do these single mothers even think the number of men the kid sees around them can affect him/her later in life? 1 Like |

Sagamite: Sagamite, I asked that question hoping to provoke a rection such as yours. The reason for your answer is the same reason why Teenage Pregnancy will continue and the girls should not be crucified for getting pregnant. Why do I say this? A parent not minding his/her son having a girlfriend or getting a girl pregnant as much as his/her daughter having a boyfriend or getting pregnant smacks just a little bit of hypocrisy! Why will a parent guard his/her daughter from wolves and allow his/her son to be a wolf? |

There are advantages and disadvantages of every step one takes in life. What message is making life easy for teenage mothers going to say to teenagers out there? Its inevitably going to encourage it. However when something has happened, it has happened. All u can do is to remedy the situation. In the area of teenage pregnancy, some would see the ultimate remedy being to abort the baby. In my opinion, its a personal decision for the person carrying the baby. No one shud b forced into it because its an abomination, family disgrace, sin and what not. All have sinned!. . .So yehhh teenage mothers should not b condemned for life. I mean who are u to condemn another? Where its happened, they should be cared for. Nobody knows tomorrow 1 Like |

mbulela: for abortion to qualify as murder....the victim has to be a person. the embryo is not a person because it possesses no brain and cannot do anything distinctively human: feel, love, think, know, choose, desire, commit, relate, aspire, know itself, know God, know its past, know its future, know its environment, or communicate with anyone. if abortion is murder then every time you kill the bacteria in your mouth, you have committed murder. |

coogar: "you still don't get it. killing 3-5 yr-old kids would be murder while flushing an embryo isn't murder. an embryo cannot be qualified as a person. a 3-yr old kid is a person!" Its a proven fact that life begins at inception, at 5 weeks a baby has already developed a heart beat. The difference between that and a 3 years old is size and space. Abortion, regardless of how the society spins it is murder, simple! You can call it "pro-choice", "woman reproductive right" or whatever, the truth is that any act of abortion is a murder! Unless terminating a life dosen't amount to murder anymore. 1 Like |

jmoore: you need more help: education. bacteria and other micro-organisms all have life. life starts @ conception, personhood starts after birth. you have to kill a person to qualify as a murderer. @ conception, what you have is a single-celled zygote. the same thing is an amoeba or at best, paramecium. Off Dat!: go and read about critical abortion! |

coogar: Is bacteria a human being? That I also killed a chicken to eat should be called murder too? when one starts advocating for abortion common sense becomes scarce |
| Re: Our Attitude Towards Teenage Pregnancy by coogar: 12:07pm On Jun 08, 2012 |
jmoore: the embryo is not a human being as well. that is the point!
you're a troglodyte! so if the baby in the tummy has the potential to kill the mother, you would save the baby and have the mother dead? stop embarrassing yourself on a public forum. the whole world watches. |
| Re: Our Attitude Towards Teenage Pregnancy by chi-baby(f): 12:08pm On Jun 08, 2012 |
Just to comment on the on going debate of whether abortion is murder or not. It is not murder. Look at the definition of murder in the UK legislation for e.g. defines murder as : where a person of sound mind and discretion (i.e. sane); unlawfully kills any reasonable creature (human being); in being (born alive and breathing through its own lungs, under the Queen's Peace, with intent to kill or cause grievous bodily harm. Murder is widely defined as the unlawful killing of a human being. Firstly, abortion is not unlawful in all parts of the world but murder is.Secondly, all human beings breathe through their own lungs. In the case of an embryo, its breathing is enabled via the mother's. I hope this sheds some more light Coogar ur correct ![]() |

A lot of this could be avoided if there are true relationship between Parents and their kids where there is open communication. In Nigeria the answer to everything is BEAT! BEAT! BEAT! We even saw that in a Church recently when a girl was Slapped by an Adult! Somehow we have accepted that BEATING and putting fear on the kids would solve all problems even when we see that it's not working. Teenage pregnancy would be reduced drastically if Parents spend time communicating with their Children. Even young girls that are rapped or molested by adult dare not tell their parents, WHY?? And what about guys sleeping without condom in this age and time with all sort of deceases flying around? Having said these, if a Teenage child is pregnant, it is not only tough for the parent but also for the child too, so she needs all the support she can get from the parents not Beating, Non stop Insult and sending her away... It just don't make sense no matter how you look at it. I DON'T BELIEVE IN ABORTION! Until you can create life don't ever think of taking one... Forget all these big grammar about pro life/pro choice..when life starts..etc When you try to start rationalizing certain things in life, it also shows that deep inside you are not 100% convinced about your take on it. Once again communication and good relationship between parents and kids is a sure way of reducing teenage pregnancy. Bless |

chi-baby: don't mind the gook with his pseudo-puritanical idealism....because of people like him, the world is filled with filth. homeless kids running amok @ the beach in lagos must be giving him orgasms. my pro-abortion stance got strengthened after watching this video. https://fbcdn-video-a.akamaihd.net/cfs-ak-ash4/v/432875/538/420053494685299_3390.mp4?oh=48a3337e7261237c38825c20b2038746&oe=4FD00C20&__gda__=1339034656_9716887d3bedca161a91fca486d0fd93 this woman was allegedly raped and listened to someone like jmoore. she refused to abort the baby without thinking critically that the baby would always remind her of the culprit. is this not even worse than abortion? |

Jeezuzpick: What moronic point! You think political correctness can shape feelings? Is it my son whose life would be destroyed if another man's daughter gets pregnant? He would be the one with morning sickness? He would be the one screaming in labour? He would be the one finding time to breastfeed? He would be the one that his schooling would be inconvenienced? He is the one that would struggle to find a new partner if things don't work out between them? You think he is even the one that needs a partner the most? He is the one that wants to have a steady life-time partner the most or her? So why would I bother if my son impregnates as much as if my daugther is impregnated? You think nature is politically correct? This is as stewpid as saying I should be as sad if my child drink drives and kills another child, as I would have been sad if I was the father of the child killed. BULLSHIT! Maximum my child would get 2 years in jail and come out. Why should I be as sad as the man that has lost his child forever. Cut your BS political correctness and funky ideology. There IS NO WAY I would be as bothered as my son impregnating as I would be if my daughter was impregnated. Utter rubbish! 1 Like |

chi-baby: Chi Dear, do we humans actually need anyone to define what murder is to us? Aint we living in a world were they are trying to wipe away the knowledge of a Creator (GOD) out? even when his presence is everywhere? Man is generally wicked and his heart is mischievous... Anyway here in Holland it is lawful to 1.PROSTITUTE 2.SMOKE MARIJUANA 3.COMMIT EUTHANASIA am I suppose to accept this because it is lawful? I believe we humans have enough knowledge to define what is right or wrong and not necessarily what the law says or defines as wrong or right. Bless |

coogar:should your fellow humans be used? If so what makes them humans like you then? About Marijuana you might want to ask the US and even Nigerian government what is wrong with smoking marijuana since we are talking about Government and what is lawful. PS: I don't condemn people who do these cos Marijuana is like candy here and not a big deal Bless |

Lenny5000: should i have a driver? a housemaid? should a bar tender serve me? are you serious? are you aware they are being paid and they are only rendering services? abeg, stop that line of argument?
yet, holland have a lower crime rate than america and nigeria even with their relaxed laws. marijuana is medicinal. abusing the substance is the real issye. not using it.
it shouldn't be a big deal anywhere. |
