Lemme me tell u all a story. Wen I was much younger 23, I dated a very wonderful girl who was everything I wanted. The only issue was that she had a 6yr old son. We were abt age mates. I can tell you that the life of a single mum aint easy. Ok she has financial support from her mum and brothers, her father is passed on. And the irresponsible wicked man who put her in a family way is far older than her and he used to threaten her to av sex then tilll she got preg. Left to me that guy should be in jail. One of the reasons we broke up was that I couldn't really handle the kid thing. My people I tell u, a single mother finding a single guy to marry might be quite difficult. Maybe a widower or divorcee might be easier sha I dnt knw. I knew my family won't support it anyway so breaking up just looked like the easier way. Considering the circumstancesz, if she had aborted the child then. I won't av condemned her. Maybe we might still be together today. Maybe she won't have told me. Afterall thousands do abortions each day in secret. But she decided to keep it becos she is a strong christian and has a good heart. I think that was a tough decision. In conclusion, there is nothing like waiting till you're ready to have kids. It's less messy. But then we shouldn't pull single mothers down cos their life is hard enuff alredi from the issues related.

The reason for your answer is the same reason why Teenage Pregnancy will continue and the girls should not be crucified for getting pregnant.

A parent not minding his/her son having a girlfriend or getting a girl pregnant as much as his/her daughter having a boyfriend or getting pregnant smacks just a little bit of hypocrisy!

There are advantages and disadvantages of every step one takes in life. What message is making life easy for teenage mothers going to say to teenagers out there? Its inevitably going to encourage it. However when something has happened, it has happened. All u can do is to remedy the situation. In the area of teenage pregnancy,some would see the ultimate remedy being to abort the baby. In my opinion, its a personal decision for the person carrying the baby. No one shud b forced into it because its an abomination, family disgrace, sin and what not. Its a proven fact that life begins at inception, at 5 weeks a baby has already developed a heart beat. The difference between that and a 3 years old is size and space. Just to comment on the on going debate of whether abortion is murder or not. It is not murder. Look at the definition of murder in the UK legislation for e.g. defines murder as : where a person of sound mind and discretion (i.e. sane);

A lot of this could be avoided if there are true relationship between Parents and their kids where there is open communication. In Nigeria the answer to everything is BEAT! BEAT! BEAT! We even saw that in a Church recently when a girl was Slapped by an Adult! Somehow we have accepted that BEATING and putting fear on the kids would solve all problems even when we see that it's not working. Teenage pregnancy would be reduced drastically if Parents spend time communicating with their Children. Even young girls that are rapped or molested by adult dare not tell their parents, WHY??
And what about guys sleeping without condom in this age and time with all sort of deceases flying around? Having said these, if a Teenage child is pregnant, it is not only tough for the parent but also for the child too, so she needs all the support she can get from the parents not Beating, Non stop Insult and sending her away... It just don't make sense no matter how you look at it. I DON'T BELIEVE IN ABORTION! Until you can create life don't ever think of taking one... Forget all these big grammar about pro life/pro choice..when life starts..etc When you try to start rationalizing certain things in life, it also shows that deep inside you are not 100% convinced about your take on it. Once again communication and good relationship between parents and kids is a sure way of reducing teenage pregnancy.

Aint we living in a world were they are trying to wipe away the knowledge of a Creator (GOD) out? even when his presence is everywhere? Man is generally wicked and his heart is mischievous...
