Kelskelly: Reading all the posts of this thread makes me realize that the biggest problem with Nigeria is it followers, not even leaders. See how the opinions are mostly divided by religious and ethnic lines. very few comments have actually analyzed the true content of his comment. Lets be honest with ourselves with the following...the people responsible for the flying a terminally ill plane called dana,and killing hundreds of Nigerians don't deserve to be shot? the ones that collected all the money for road repairs and hence causing hundreds of lives to be lost on the road daily don't deserve to be shot? or is it the ones that make children in this generation grow up in perpetual darkness.
If people that steal phones and wallets are being sent to jail, please can someone tell me what the ones above deserve!

No wonder his fellowers have been shooting and killing in thier small small corners in the north, in their so called fighting for injustice. If we ve been jailing the likes of mutallab and ibori, curuption and violence would ve reduced in this country.

Okoro2015: I totally agree with Gen. Buhari on this one. The interesting thing is that he is volunteering to lead the fishing if GEJ will show the will and commitment. I think this is one of those rare occasions where two popular "captains" man a ship. If I were GEJ, I'll give this a push. It is pertinent to note here that Buhari has scored the highest point among all Nigerian leaders in stemming corruption. His fanaticism and extremism not withstanding.

The fight against corruption is not one to be fought with kid glove and isn't one that can be fought by a leader who himself encourages corruption when he sorround himself with corrupt hands.
Corruption is the main militating factor disturbing Nigeria from reaching its full develpment potential and as such shouldn't be fought "systemic" but wounded eith a single blow.
Corruption no dey pity Nigerians so why should Nigerians pity corruption.

Besides what i feel buhari will advocate for in a democratic setting is to request for death penalty from the NASS for corruption cases.
On this i support very well.
Its reasons like this the Nigerian Oligarchs (North, east, west and south) will do every thing within their power to ensure Buhari becomes not the president becuse the day he does, they go on exile, and the day they go on exile the people start benefitting the true dividend of democracy.
Of cos my dear Buhari will still fight for their extradiction to face justice in their homeland.
May God spare the live of Buhari.

Another Okija: All those advocating the Killing of corrupt politicians had also submit themseles to be killed if they have participated in corruption of any kind.. From copying in school which may seem like a small and insignificant corruption but has led to the decline in good quality graduates.. Also if you have bribed a policeman for not driving with the proper papers or violating traffic laws, you should also be killed.. If you have given kickbacks for contracts, you also should be on the killing list..

The simple truth is that the government is simply a representation of ALL NIGERIANS.. The entire country is corrupt.. The government is made up of citizens like you and I.. This bribery/corruption thing started from a simple 'make I copy you small' in examinations.. graduated into police, then into business then politics..

Instead of killing politicians which would be like cutting off a branch of an already diseased tree, why not start from the root by building more prisons and making corruption a serious offence punishable by imprisonment.. Not just in government but all over.. The guys who stole over 2 billion of pension money weren't politicians but civil servants..

They are you and I, politicians, traders, Doctors, lecturers, Pharmacists, Police, Hawkers, Manufacturers who benefit from the corrupt system. Buhari's Government was toppled in the 80s because of his stance against majority of the Nigerian elite whose business thrive in corruption including his fellow Northerners. So Buhari is right but his approach is a tool for war threshold.
