Cross River State and its Capital Calabar, remain one of the most admired State in Nigeria. this followed the exploit of its Former Governor Donald Duke, who thought other States Governors that a clean city is possible in our country, a position which earned Calabar the title of the cleanest city in Nigeri. The State was further brought to limelight with the establishment of the Obudu cattle Ranch, the Tinapa resort and the now famous Calabar Carnival, the envy of most States. In an era where most states were busy running to Abuja cap in hand begging for 'alms', Cross River was doing something extra-ordinary or CNN put it 'business unusual. The Sate was looking inwards, developning its resources. However, all this is about to change following the collision of the government of Akwa Ibom State and some memebers of the Judicairy to cede parts of Cross Rivers State to Akwa Ibom. An earlier judgement had ceded a bulk of the oil wells in the State to Akwa Ibom. As it stands, the government of Akwa Ibom State is ready to pay handsomely To Molest its neighbour and elder brother of its rich land areas with the help of the same judiciary. While, i may not be from either State, i feel that the use of the judicairy by money bags to pervert the course of justice is shameful and a threat to our democracy and our collective rights as individuals. Am just wondering, do you think justice should go to the highest bidder ![]() |
