Let's reason together, I have often wondered how I would feel about Islam if I were born in a christian family or how I would feel about the Yorubas if I were born into an Ibo family.
We don't choose what family we would be born to, we only find ourselves in it.
What percentage of people born into one religion willingly convert into another religion if not for circumstance forced on them by marriage, economical or spiritual factors and even at that the total percentage of these group of people are minimal.
Our religion taught us that their is no reincarnation but if it does exist, who knows if we would come back into the religion and tribe we detest.
I had a very peculiar experience when I was in LASU, me and a friend met some girls in the evening and we were escorting them to their hostel. We naturally paired up and were discussing as we were going, as I was talking to the girl with me, I had this very strong feeling that I know the girl and that we have met before but I didn't tell her because I felt she might think its all part of scoping her.
As we were going, the girl told me that she feel that she knows me and that we have met before, so I told her that I felt it too so I started from primary school to all the different places that I have been to but there was no way our path could have crossed, we stayed far apart,attended different schools and have like 4 years age gap. The girl just shook her head and said it wasn't any of the places that it was just a feeling.
This often let me wonder about de ja vu and if people don't reincarnate and have some subconscious memory of past life.
The bottom line is that we should try and just be good people and don't have irrational dislike for people simply because of their religion or the tribe which they find themselves and deal with the based on their individual qualities and character.
I am a muslim and have always condemned the activities of boko haram and always dissociate them from islam. I and many true, intelligent and independent muslims always regret and sympathize the death of victims of the terror attacks.
I was shocked at the jubilation of some people over the killing of some innocent muslims that were stopped and dragged out of their cars along abuja/kaduna express road and kaduna/ zaria road.
We all know the roaming miscreants that are the foot soldiers for most of these religious crisis, while I don't have problem with people defending themselves from these dense entities, it is a different thing to be killing innocent muslims in retaliation, those youth killing well meaning and productive innocent muslims going to their families have brought sorrow into the homes of such people who have probably never even raised a broom against christians and they are not different from the animals they are condemning.
