Nigerians are the most educated and exposed people in Africa.

Something else about Nigeria. The rural areas are still treasured by the people, with efforts made to develop them. Nigerians build their retirement homes there, and travel frequently to their home towns. Bustling markets and commercial activities abound there. Rural traditions and customs are still followed and respected.

You'll be surprised that this is actually unique in Africa, where to a large extent, rural areas are largely abandoned and allowed to regress, with many regarding the villages as dead and unworthy. I have friends from places like Zambia and Uganda, and the idea of travelling to one's village for christmas is viewed by them as absurd. Their villages look like what you'd see on CNN - just deprivation. In Nigerian rural areas, you'll find private mansions, schools, hotels, hospitals, markets, fast food joints, and recharge card dealers for mobiles.

But we must all work in our own little ways towards it, do not hope on someone else to do it. Do your own little part no matter how little it is.

South Nigeria is drastically developing. North Nigeria is under developing and we only need a true nationalist to save us from this trying times. We need a leader who possess the political will to fight corrupt and deliver constitutional reforms to the benefits of the people. A leader who will be bold enougj to down-size the central govt, review the revenue-sharing formula to the benefits of the states, reform the local government to be truly independent, review the entire backward/retarded security structures of the nation via the creation of state/community-policing and downsizing of the NPF to a manageable body of well-educated, well trained, highly equipped Federal Police Dept. Shifting of our economy from being over reliant on crude oil to an agro-based economy, where agric-products can be tied to industries and we won't have to export resources and import finished goods. Where education is given a top-priority, and universities givern full autonomy to operate. A leader who will be ready to engage our labor unions and courageously arm-twist them for development sake (if need be).
Nigeria shall be Great (only if a true leader is given to us) by the movers and shakers of Nigerian Politics (as our votes don't often count)

Roads are being constructed (well atleast in moi state) for better transportation access.

Home to d most accommodating people on d planet. I know what I'm saying...our people welcome visitors wholeheartedly and have an affinity for foreigners. Our leaders also carter better for foreigners than natives...guess it's abt bn d perfect host. D host wud rather go to bed hungry than not serve his visitor full meal and wine.
