Zinc is half a tablet daily. You can dissolve in water.
ORS is one sachet dissolved in one litre of water and to be given to the baby as much as he or she can consume in a space of 24hrs. This means that the ORS you prepare today should be discarded tomorrow
How's your new work jazzjazz? Congratulations dear.

If babies can start taking cow milk from 1 year, then why do different formula brands have stage 3 which is supposed to be from 12 months and above?

If you really wanna DIY here, please mention my moniker from time to time. I have a "few" ( grin) contacts in the creative industry and a lot of them are organizing small hands-on workshops (some are free). For example, there is a plein-air painting group that teaches how to draw/paint for free, and that is amazing for good DIYs. And there's this lady that does incredible stuff with paper (we have a paper DIY group, I'm actually supposed to demo something but laziness won't let me be great).

Here's a good place to start shopping for stuff: AB Artworld is Nigeria's oldest arts and crafts shop. They have a large selection of materials including books and videos, from cake decorating to photography to painting to quilting and knitting. And they will be stocking quality wool and yarn pretty soon (it should be ordered in by October/November). They have locations across the major cities (Lagos, Abuja, PH, Ibadan). When I was posting the Children's activity topics on the this thread, I got all my supplies from them (they do back to school sales).

I used this and I have great results but you need to wear it for at least 8 hours a day for 6 weeks. I wore for only 2 weeks post partum and I love how my stomach looks now except that I have to exercise to tone it up.

That depends on the wipe you're currently using.
I use cussons 3 in 1 wipes and it's 750 here. That means it's 150 wipes total
The cheapest wipes on mfa is pampers and it's 4 packs of wipes in a pack and it's about 1500

I still plan to buy the wipes sha. I want to see if it's the same as the one they sell in naija

Hello, checking in on the Mums in Aba. Heard there was quite a commotion overnight with tribal clashes. Please stay safe and perhaps cancel outings if you had plans to leave the house today

RANT!!

So it's been one hell of a week and the last incident this morning just makes me want to sit down and have a good cry. So last week Tuesday, I got a mail to come to Benin for a bid presentation for a contract I applied for in April. The mail came in two days before so I really did not have time to make any arrangements for my baby. My mom and sister travelled to the village for something so nowhere to drop my baby. Had to take her along. The presentation was on Friday, got there on Thursday. You know how it is when you have a 2months old baby with you. I couldn't study my materials as well as I would have loved. I did not even have anyone to hold her for me when I went in to do my presentations. Had to beg one woman who came with her husband to please hold her for me. One Saturday after we were done with courses, the lady called and said my baby has stooped 3times in 5hours. I could not imagine what could be the cause of it. By midnight, it has increased to 6. On Sunday I got ORS and zinc tablets for her but by Sunday night, I knew there was no way I could manage this. Monday morning I asked the management if they could let me off for the remaining days (it was supposed to last for one week) and that i would continue my bid/presentation with the next batch. They said Ok and I left with my baby to Lagos on Monday. Imagine my surprise when i got a mail from the company on Tuesday saying I had been disqualified from the bid process because they did not think I had the focus or determination required. It pained me to be honest because I had expended a lot of money doing samples of the product they wanted. I had also spent a lot on research, not to talk about the time I had spent on everything. I was so hopeful I would at least win one of the bids. They said i lacked focus, I don't know if they wanted me to focus on them and ignore my sick baby. I sha cried and everyone told me something better would come along.
Yesterday, a 15yr old girl was sent to me from my MIL to help out with chores and baby as I would soon be resuming work. Decided to take her for routine tests, turns out she is pregnant. I ordered for A scan. She is 9weeks pregnant. I just became weak.
Opened my mail this morning and I got a mail to come in for a chat tomorrow Friday in a firm I applied to in July. The girl that was brought is supposed to go back tomorrow with the person that brought her so now I cannot even say let her watch baby for my for one day. If I decide to email the firm and ask them to reschedule, would they not think I'm unserious? Can i take my baby to the interview and hopefully I will find someone that will hold her for me while I go in for my interview? What if the interview takes longer than I anticipated and then my baby starts to disturb, what will I Do? I'm so confused and annoyed right now cry cry cry

Sorry. I feel your pain but you can't give your baby to the pregnant girl. You MAY find a crèche that do pay-as-you-go drop off and put your baby there for that day. Am sure you should find one around. This will give you peace of mind and you will be more focus in your presentation. Wish you all ththe best

Sorry about all this. It's okay to cry. You'll feel relieved after.

What about your dh? Is he around? If he is, he can help you watch baby while you're at the interview .

There was a time I had an interview, my mum was not available and I didn't have a maid then. Dh informed his boss that he will be late, and drove me to the venue and held our son till I was done before he went to work.

Or you can look for a creche that you can pay to watch your baby for the day.

@spiceeamiee

I'm thinking....
there are some creches that operate in such a way that U can bring in ur LO just for a day or a few hours and then they charge u based on how long they take care of him/her.

y not look to see if u can find any of such, so u can keep her there and go for ur interview.

@spiceamiee like other mamas have said. Ask around for a creche that provides daily services. There was a time I had a presentation and nobody was available, taking her there wasn't even an option. I had to go that route and we were fine. Pele
