I currently have the same problem and I need the same help.

Sounds like the 12v battery is weak. Your best bet is to either have it scanned or tow it to a toyota dealer, hoping they would have have a Hybrid Testing kit in their showroom,either way It is not going to be a cheap fix.
Why buy hybrid cars in Nigeria ?

only the very rich or the very ignorant buy hybrid cars in nigeria..the head ache isnt worth it...cos very few techinicains are competent to work on the car when it develops a problem..ur best bet now is google.google ur problem, regiuster in carforums..ask for help .toyotanation is a good forum..the hv a highlander hybrid sub forum..u will get immense info there. but nigerian ip addresses are automatically disallowed from registering...

It most likely may have been the inverter. They can be very problematic especially as the vehicle gets older. I'm sure that was changed to sole the problem. Not a cheap fix though.
