They are expensive so that Apple can make a lot of money.

It is never worth it to get an Apple. You can get the same performance/specs from other companies.

Of course, the Mac OS is arguably better than others. And the overall Mac experience is smoother and nicer.

But unless you don't mind overpaying for hardware, avoid Apple.

Me i wonder o, i know things were better when Apple & Orange use to be fruits.

Costs more than this (if bought in the UK, for example). But, I have to agree, it is NOT worth it.

They're so overpriced. I'll rather buy 2 high end hp laptops with such an amount. It's hp for me or nothing.

I was sick about this thing and when i got well i never thought about it ever a again..There is nothing to write home about them.
Thats why i love my High end Lenovo.

If you are a high-end user in movie editing, Apple has very good options. Also, there are fewer issues with drivers and updates. Apple manufacture their equipment but I think they are more expensive because of it's brand name.

Am happy with windows and distance from anything apple because I have always gotten the same device with improved features for the same price.

See prices of apple fruits ranges from N50 to N100 depending on ur location while oranges and mangoes can go as low as N10 But I believe the Apple products are only been over priced, why go for Apple products when u can have Hp to do the work, except u wan do efizzy for ur babe

seriously, it beats me too. At times i wonder if d motherboard is made of gold. If at all they wana also include d name,APPLE on their sales then it shudnt b up to dose expensive prices. Apple laptop - mac os = one hp laptop

Forget high end HP laptops,wen u c a MacBook pro,u go fear...the same way an iMac is better than HP TouchSmart.. The same way iPhone and iDevices are generally better than most other cheap imitations..

Yes they are overpriced, but really no other can do what it does, and even if, you'll still have to upgrade them extra (more costs) and the result STILL won't be like apple's. Lets take the T Series ultrabook for instance which is just as thin as the new MacBook Pro and has a wide array of ports: USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports, HDMI, Ethernet, VGA and an SD card slot. This 13-inch laptop doesn’t have Apple’s super high-resolution display or backlit keyboard; nor does it have its 2.3Ghz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor.
I could go on and on but the bottom line is if you can afford it, don't think about getting anything else.

And you also don't have to pay practically annually for anti-virus software lol!

The MacBook is reliable and efficient. You don't want to be in the middle of typing a research work and have your windows laptop crash, you'll hate yóurself.. If you can't afford the high end Macbook pro, there's this 11inch Mac Air which starts at 900dollars (150k)

Apple laptop are meant for Entertainment

If you are into entertainment industry ,you will cherish apple products more than other products

Which means you will cough any amount to pay for comfortability.

i use Apple ibook G4 got it for 85grand , and i never regretted it. Apple laptops are the best laptops in the universe.their OSX which is the Mac is unbeatable. Imagine an operating system that automatically hides your IP when broswing, it gives u automatic us ip, this apple optical drive is inbuilt. U don need to draw it out. And when ejecting disks u just click eject and the plate automatically comes out, it has time machine, it can repair and verify disks like mmc and others without losing your datas please there's no computer lik Apple. They make life easy and rich

apple products are soo expensive because of there quality and name brand. is like comparing luis votton, gucci, or prada to regular clothe. if you want quality stuff, you have to spend money. is like honda car vs audi cars. honda car may have all the machine that audi car has, but audi is a name brand and quality.

Guys don't knock it till you try it. I give kudos to Apple for how far they've come in the industry. Seriously, Apple products can not be termed as expensive just the same way you cannot call Mercedes Benz expensive because you are paying for top value. I have jumped from one high end Windows laptop to another and since I finally got a Macbook Pro, my mind has been at ease. Now let me let you in on a fact, a Mac will outperform a PC of the same specs ANY DAY! I have personally tested it and at the moment I use a Macbook Pro with 2 partitions; one side for Mac installation and the other for Windows installation so that no matter which I log into, I'm getting the most out of my hardware resource as against running Windows in a virtual environment on a Mac. It was after installing and running the Windows on my Macbook Pro that I finally realized that the Mac OS is just way too superior to Windows OS (Let's hope this can change with Windows 8 but I doubt it will). On the same hardware, I get longer battery life, smooth and superior performance and no virus worry wahala! I can tell you for a fact that the only reason I log into my Windows partition now is to use CorelDraw or other Windows programs that are not available for Mac OS.
What about the hardware? How many times have you heard of a Mac having a fault as against other PC brands? A Macbook Pro is built from a single block of Aluminium and laser cut to create room for its internal components. All the parts are made from superior quality parts because the manufacturer has a vision to give its clients the best quality possible. I have opened up Macbook Pros and I have opened up other PC brands. The only ones that came close to impressing me in terms of internal components actually do cost as much as Macs and even more in some cases. For instance our firm just procured an HP Envy laptop for one of our clients that costs N407,000. Early last year we bought an ASUS laptop for a client and it cost N335,000 and the sad part is that a Mac of similar specs will always give a better performance.

That was an album I put together about a year ago but it's still relevant for newer models in some cases.
Recently a client came to us that he needed a very good and reliable laptop and he was looking at getting a high end HP laptop. After discussing his needs with him, I recommended he get a Macbook Pro and a RAM upgrade (you get a better deal by upgrading the RAM yourself) and that was what he settled for. Since then the guy has had only praises for Apple and he said he wondered why he didn't make the transition sooner.

Apple refurbished laptops come good as new and are covered by the same 1 year manufacturer warranty. You cannot tell them apart from new ones (that was how I got mine by the way).

If you are getting one of the newer models that come with 4GB RAM, I recommend you do a RAM upgrade to 8GB or more for better performance else your processor will be under-powered while your memory fills up quickly (I really don't understand why the geniuses at Apple are not looking into 8GB RAMs as standard). An 8GB DDR3 RAM kit nowadays goes for N10,000 - N12,000 and 16GB RAM kit costs about N20,000 - N22,000.

On a final note, you don't have to get a Mac if your needs are not that serious but if you can afford it, I'll recommend you go for a Mac any day because the advantages are numerous and you will be getting better value for your money.
