Symbols, Meaning And Use In Nigeria (cloth/any Other Patterns) by delboi: 3:25pm On Jul 05, 2012
Hello guys,

I'm a graphic artist working on my final project (dissertation) in uk and I need help collecting and

documenting patterns and symbols in Nigeria and their meaning and how they are used that I can do tests with.

I'm interested in the fabric and embroidery patterns like the adire tie & dye and was surprised to find they had meaning,

some were proverbs and others told stories about the family/tribe/culture. So I've selected Igbo, yoruba and hausa as the 3 regions I'll work with.

The Nsidibi writing symbols came of interest also. I'll appreciate whatever I can get smiley

Thanks in advance smiley
