Re: Chess Puzzles 3 by macalurs(m): 12:33am On Dec 07, 2006
I was refering to the original poster. He threw a question asking what would be White's best move if he wanted to mate in 3 moves. I was not going to waste my time trying to figure out the best moves on an unlabled /unmarked board if no one was goin to be there to respond.

Re: Chess Puzzles 3 by macalurs(m): 6:32am On Dec 07, 2006
Baby, do you understand chess? please no offence The question is: If white is to win in his next 3 moves, what should those moves be. Then I'm saying, If theres no one to tell me the rightest answer after I post a response, there is no use posting, since I'll have to think a little bit harder than usual to.

white knight. E4 to F6
Re: Chess Puzzles 3 by macalurs(m): 6:13pm On Dec 07, 2006
I dont think his white knight to a check will give him a mate in next two moves.

I came up with: white rooke captures black's-black bishop, and buys white an open file. Black most likely will try to block it by sending his white- bishop upwards or moving his other knight to block the white queens free row but white rooke makes the capture and sends queen down for a mate in 1.

There could be other shorter moves, I described a mate in 4.
Re: Chess Puzzles 3 by macalurs(m): 6:17pm On Dec 07, 2006
Again he could also do: White's rook capture black bishop. White's knight makes a check. Black's king moves closer to rook, posing a threat. White knight protects the rook and also frees up the row the king is on, causing a queen check. white's queen makes a mate.

The rows are unlabled. it's difficult to label it in my mind. This is still a mate in 4.

1. white queen(c7)-c1(check!);black bishop(d2)*white queen(c2)
2. white knight(d5)-c3(check!);black king(b1)-a1
3. white rook(g2)*pawn(a2)(checkmate!)
