Almost done restoring my e46 that suffered a terrible crash, just aligned the wheels today and test drove her around but I noticed the centre case of the propeller was damaged during the crash. That is already on my to do list for next weekend. I'll be uploading pictures after the whole restoration has been completed.

Restoring or repairing/rebuilding?

Doing both. I realised during the repair process that there were some parts that were about failing.

If your bmw keys wont open/close your car/windows/sunroof or you've had to buy a new set of keys/EWS and lost your keyless entry feature, let us know. We can resolve this for you in 10mins.

Brand new Siemens Air flow meter for the X3, E46 330i or 330ci. $300 part. Bought it personally from a dealer in Manhattan Beach, CA, not that useless N8,000 useless product sold at Ladipo and Olowu in Ikeja. Will give (as in DASH) to the nairalander with the best looking E46. Yet to see one that looks as good as mine before I sold it though. I'll post a pic to refresh your memory.

Can't stop loving my Beemer......... I had an emergency call for a meeting in Abuja on Wednesday, scheduled for thursday. I left Kano kinda late but wallahi I was surprised to discover that i did the whole journey in about 3 hours, and the strange thing is that the car didn't seem stressed at all. I don't know what spirit lives inside these aggressive BMWs
Looking forward to my journey to Zaria tomorrow.

Hello house..,

I am thinking of buying a bmw x6 or x5.. As I read in another they are basically the same machine with one looking more sportier but they basically have the same features..

I want to know if you guys accept this comparism or there is more to it than that..

I am a newbie when it comes to autos but I am in the market for a luxury suv and my choices are between the x5, x6, Audi q7, Lexus r350.. All 2008 model..

Please advice in terms of maintenance issues, availability of mechanics in case something goes wrong and how much it will cost to put it back in shape..

http://www.autoevolution.com/news/bmw-44-liter-n63-engine-experiencing-frequent-reliability-problems-88225.html

I just hope the v12 does not have a similar fate , cause replacing that engine with new after warranty expires is not a pocket-friendly exercise.

Excerpt of importance:

To be more precise, we’re talking about the 2008-2014 BMW E71 X6 xDrive50i, the 2009 - 2012 BMW F01/F02 750i or 720 Li, the 2010-2012 550i models (sedan, wagon or GT), the 2011-2012 E70 X5 xDrive50i and some early versions (built in 2012) of the F12/F13 650i models.

Those units are the ones built before the facelift came out. In 2012, BMW released the same engine with a technical update, called N63B44O1. This one also makes more power, being rated at 450 HP and 650 Nm (480 lb-ft) of torque instead of 408 HP and 600 Nm (440 lb-ft) of torque as the faulty one.

Good morning guys,

I need HELP!!!

I have a 2003 e65 (N62) engine wonderful to drive. Here is the really annoying problem. I can't buy more than 20liters of gas in the tank, anything above that and the car will torture you to death, it is almost not driveable, it sputters, with light popping sounds from the engine bay and then won't move if you give it gas. Almost complete loss if power
If you are patient however and give it gas gently, it responds slowly and gradually and after a few seconds it goes mad with power and runs off having you grabbing the steering wheel.
I have had this issue for some time and it took a while to learn the trend. Now, i only buy 15-18ltrs of gas -everyday :-(.
The fuller the tank the more difficulty in driving it.
I had it scanned at a service center and i have to tell you this guys, even at an auto shop, ask for the scan results before they do anything on the car.
I changed fuel rail, injectors, plugs, fuel filter, put apart the top cylinder to thoroughly clean out the engine... results were all same.
I went back to the scan results and noticed a line item "tank vent valve stuck open" I believe this is the smoking gun but the mechs (3 different ones) don't agree with me.
Anyways. I want to change it, problem is I don't know where it is. Pictures I have seen online indicate it's in the engine bay area but the it's not there on mine. Other sources say it could be around the fuel tank....

Anyone know it's location and a reference to a mechanic I can use?
Re: BMW Owners' Forum by lungwun(m): 12:13pm On Oct 30, 2014
Quite hard referring a mechanic when we don't know where you stay.

Forgive me.

I stay in Ikeja, Lagos.
