That P2647 is a bastard. Its a night mare for every honda.

My own will go into the code for few weeks and treat itself if i ignore it enough. My friends 08 accord was a pain in the ass for a long time from this problem.

The sensor is also notorious for leaking engine oil.

I finally have the perfect solution for any kind of leak from that part. I serviced the part Honda said was non serviceable. Today mine is as dry as the Sahara and iVTEC works perfectly. I should put the procedure on my blog soon

What grade of oil do you use? P2647 more likely with using non recommended oil weights.
Sometimes an oil change takes care of the P2647. You just need someone that knows he's stuff to troubleshoot correctly; a loose connector to the VTEC pressure switch can cause it. If it doesn't go with an oil change, then you will need to change the VTEC oil pressure switch (Ensure you use the sensor that is black, if you use either the green or grey one [meant for different Honda's] the code will still come back)

I use mobil XHP. I dumped expensive oils due to shortening of oil which makes me spend so much on oil.

I have serviced the sensor several times both on my 03 and and my friends 08 Accord.

In my car, since i bought the car, if i wash engine, it comes up with this code for a day to a couple of days before it goes away on its own. One time, weeks later it refused to clear so i removed it and gave it a proper bath. The washing problem still exist. When i got a leak, i thought silicone gum would do but it never stopped it. I got a fairly good gasket in Kaduna panteka. The person also gave me the valve body with a broken solenoid connector but removed his oil switch. I used his valve body and gasket with my solenoid and oil swtich. The leaking got worst so i reverted back to my valve body. After my last engine wash, the code came and never left. I removed it and serviced it but after 100miles working well the code came back. I got another solenoid but again after 100miles the code came back. I used the car with the limb mode for a week, suddenly, 3 days ago, i surprisingly saw the car passed its previous 3k rpm limit. Right now i have no leak and its working.

My friends story is a bitter one. His has 2 solenoids and 2 oil switchs black and blue. During an engine work when the engine was removed, the mechanics where very careless and the 2 oil switch broke. They also manhandled the connector harness which destroyed the connectors which were also coloured to identify them. A search for the blue switch never gave fruit likewise the black. We got green instead but both never worked. We later got one black. The 2nd challenge was the harness which became confusing since the connectors broke and were cut out. I later realised that only the black which shows up as A (intake) during scan causes the limp mode. As it is now, only that side of his sensor has a good oil switch and the B side which is exhaust isnt working but no limp mode. Although he has a permanent Check engine light due to it.

He recently had his fare share of leak but was resolved.

I recall you were using milemaster at some point. What I've learnt is that on cars as old as ours, it's best to stay clear from synthetic or semisynthetic oils.
I didn't have a good experience with milemaster when I tried it. Oil dried to the point of my CEL coming on, had I not instinctively checked my dipstick before starting the drive the story of my engine may have been different.

I've been using 5w-20 mineral oil and 5quarts (4.73L) is enough to get me through the 3500-4000 miles when I service the car. If you don't have leaks, you may discover that mineral oil 5w-20/30 may be good for your car.

The rocker arm itself allows some form of oil flow through it and the parking on it has a filter like element on it that filters the oil. If one delays repeatedly in oil change, dirt covers the face of the filter and it blocks oil flow and can trigger the code on sensor.

Frequent oil change.
Cleaning out the rocker arm once in a while
And replacing the small sensor on the arm solves the problems.
