I have a 2004 Honda accord 2.4L 5 speed.
I recently replaced the clutch. while clutch was out I also swapped the intake manifold to the acura tsx's (common swap).
on reassembly Ive been plagued with electrical issues.
P0107 P0122 and ABS code 61-01

ive replaced the tps and I have 2 maps. no difference.
im really stuck on where to go. ill likely check my computer tomorrow. all gaskets have been replaced. theres no leaks. motor fires and runs but idles badly. rpms bounce slightly. at 3000 rpm it bounces pretty dramatically. it smells like fuel.
I had my battery professionally checked. its good.
I have to investigate the regulator (doubtful). and other than that im lookin into wiring and computer.. anyone have anything

Usually located inside or near the fuel tank, the fuel pump's job is twofold:

1) To push fuel from the tank to the injectors, and

2) To create sufficient pressure so the injectors will deliver the correct amount of fuel under all operating conditions.

The pressure developed by the pump, as well as the volume of fuel it flows, must both meet the vehicle manufacturers' requirements or engine performance, economy and emissions will suffer.

The amount of fuel pressure required for a given application will vary depending on the type of injection system (L-Jetronic, CIS, Motronic, etc.), the flow characteristics of the injectors and the engine's fuel requirements.

For example, certain Honda models with Bosch Motronic require 55 to 61 psi (3.8 to 4.2 BAR) of static pressure measured with the engine off. By comparison, a Honda may require 43 psi (3.0 BAR) on some models or 48 psi (3.3 BAR) on others. The differences may not seem like much, but a few pounds of fuel pressure can have a significant impact on engine performance and emissions.

Why Fuel Flow & Fuel Pressure Are So Important
A fuel pump that doesn't meet the OE minimum fuel flow or pressure requirements for your Honda can cause driveability and emissions problems.

A weak fuel pump or one that can't generate enough pressure can upset the calibration of your fuel system. This may cause the engine to run lean or starve for fuel under load, causing symptoms such as hard starting (hot or cold), poor idle quality, hesitation or stumbling when accelerating and a loss of high-speed power.

Low fuel pressure can also be a cause of lean misfire at idle and under load, which causes a dramatic increase in hydrocarbon (HC) emissions. A car experiencing this kind of problem usually won't pass an "enhanced" emissions test that measures exhaust emissions under simulated driving conditions on a dynamometer.

Low fuel pressure and/or lean misfire can also trigger the engine warning lamp on 1996 and newer cars equipped with OBD II (on-board diagnostics).

So, if the original fuel pump is weak or has failed, it's important to make sure your replacement fuel pump meets all Honda OE fuel performance specifications. Bosch pumps do match Honda OE requirements, but many brands don't - so beware when purchasing a new fuel pump for your Honda. Always remember - you get what you pay for. Is it really worth risking severe damage to your fuel injection system?

hi all, please i want to know how much a honda eod 2004 ivtec 4 cylinder 2.4 engine costs in oladipo lagos. mine is damaged and my mech advises to buy the complete engine or the top and bottom half of the engine. my transmission is still okay.

i was travelling and the car broke down alonv the way. it just wasnt "firing" anymore whenever i depressed the throttle. there was an initial noise in the engine and when i got a mech to check it he raised the car, removed the front passengef tyre, opened the bottom side of the engine directly behind that tyre and produced a little chain which bad been broken inside the engine. he called it the oil pump chain or something and he is now advising me to buy a new engine instead of replacing the broken chain or just buying the bottom half of the engine alone. he says that tbe engine is alluminium therefore he wont advise me to buy the engine 'half & half' .

the engine still starts and all and there is no other issue with the car except it behaves as if it has not got any throttle pedal anymore.

thanks for any help

Pls I need serious help as my car is driving me crazy. Am using a 2007 DC accord, the problems are as follow ;

1. It doesn't go beyond 2000rpm but occasionally gets to 3000
2. It vibrates when I match the gear and rev
3. It doesn't accelerate immediately especially when I stop or slow down.

Note; I have changed the two front hubs, fan as my gasket just got burnt, gasket, plugs, engine seats, gear seat, break pads. Now my mechanic wants clean the injector as he feels that's the reason it's still vibrating. Pls someone should advice me

Hi Nlanders,

I had my injectors cleaned and changed my 4 plugs. My mechanic said he cleaned the injector head with thinner and applied oil treatment to stop a tampering sound from the engine. Now my car drives quieter but the idle is high. around 1500 to 1800 on cold start and drops to 1200 rpm.

How can I reduce the idle to the factory default at 700? I read stuff online and it said I have to perform the idle re-learn procedure, what is that?

Car: honda accord 2008, 4cyl
Thanks

Start with a scan of the CEL if its on. Without knowing that fact, nothing anyone will say here can help.

Idle needs to relearn after the ECU is reset. If your ECU was never reset, you shouldnt experience idle as high 1200. An intake leak would cause high idle such as the 1200 you have or no start since your car has a MAF. Last time i needed to relearn idle on my 2003 accord it wasnt as high as yours. Anyways, less than a week of normal driving will relearn the idle or you perform the relearn procedure.

You should state if you have the CEL on and go for a scan instead of theories and trial and errors method of diagnosis.
