Doff_Man:

Poor people are nonentities everywhere in this world. Nobody notices the poor person waiting to take a bus (unless they are eye catchingly sexy), but everyone notices the person in posh car.

The problem with Nigeria is that there is no safety net. If you are poor, you are most likely to suffer all types of financial hardship. Hunger and debt will be your best friend. As you marry, have children and get older, your problems increase. The pride and confidence of your youth will slowly disappear and will be replaced by desolation and desperation as you watch your family being slowly ravaged by hunger and ill health. As a man, it's difficult to swagger around the house controlling your domain when it's not backed with money? Eventually, you lose respect (and probably control if your wife, who can be openly chanced in your presence) in your domain. In some cases, you watch your children, siblings, wife etc die of health problems.

Having being reduced to this low, how many people can resist the temptation of making money from crime?

you are right

One thing I noticed in Nigeria is that if you are not rich people regard you as nonentity that is why at times even the good ones will be so frustrated and turn to crime. God save The Fedferal Republic of Nigeria.

It was just a recomendation by a commitee and the federal government did not buy the idea.
Science/Technology / Re: Teenager Invents 20-second Mobile Phone Charger. by a1solution: 6:18pm On May 20, 2013
I tried to invent exactly what this girl did now in 2010 but I only succeeded in making destop charger charge battery faster. What inspired me was the number of batteries I see in some parks in lagos then being charged in phone boot while the passengers will collect their battries half charged. I wish I can meet this girl I will show her my dead destops I used then. Naija is not encouraging when it comes to invention if not I would have succeeded before this girl.

Eko Ile:

And you wonder why Nigerian is messed up, this is the kind of thinking we need to do away with. The fear of the highlighted shouldn't be any reason to be unpatriotic and not uphold your laws and defend your constitution. The president, his ministers and the entire congress swore to uphold and defend our laws and constitution and that comes before anything or scenario..

even in court of law there are certain conditions that the judge have to respect public interest and keep the law aside, so this not a Nigerian mentality.

Politics / Re: Senate Says President Has Not Declared Any State Of Emergency by a1solution: 2:36am On May 17, 2013
As much as I'm yet to support the state of emergency declared because of porous security measures in other parts of the country which the Boko Haram boys may attack if the heat is too much on their end, informing the house before the declaration is not normal cos Boko haram suppoters in the house will vote against it and it will give boko haram clue on what is about to happen and strategies before the approval.
