Over the years some religion use population as a means of conquest, infact it is boldly written in their instruction book. This kind of post only help them in their conquest. Since some places in southern Nigeria and middle belt have started lean house hold policy has propagated in the 70s, i want to believe that Nigeria population have stop to increase. this post was made either from ignorance or deliberately to benefit some group. even china since stopped 1 child policy, Europe are now encouraging their women to born more, Donald Trump now trying stop white population in the US from becoming minority etc. abeg forget about this policy, it can not work
Im sorry to say this, your post shows that you’re either ignorant or just plain tribalistic. Anyone who has above average intelligence knows that overpopulation is, and will continue to be a major problem.

Nice post. We need to start creating the awareness before this gets out of hands.

Daeylar:

I agree.

Neither do I, I just felt to say it after every single meal eaten was excessive, that's why I gave a suggestion of a middle ground in my post, but to each his own, as long as the child grows up to be thankful and learns to not take anything for granted, that's the goal
Correct.

Cuddlebugie:
Little wonder we have many entitled adults who are very unappreciative of what they have been blessed with, believes the world revolves around them and are insensitive to the feelings of others. What harm is there in instilling grateful feelings in your child not just for the 'big' gifts but for provision of their basic needs?
Parents who "instill" grateful feelings in their children on the basis of providing meals for them only want their egos stroked.
The emboldened text is unfounded. A child/adult will turn out to be entitled and unappreciative regardless of how "they reacted to being fed" by their parents. "Thank you" is just mere words which doesn't show how appreciative you are of something -- your actions and gestures are a better judge of how you "feel".
Family / Re: Should Children Say Thank You To Their Parent(s) After Every Meal? by adexsimply(m): 10:52am On Oct 06, 2017
As a parent, expecting your child(ren) to show gratitude after providing them meals is total BS. You brought them to this world against their will so feeding them is something they are entitled to. There are other ways you can teach your children to show gratitude, feeding them shouldn't be part except you're running an orphanage.

Go to "permalinks settings" and select "post name" under "Common Settings", then save changes. If that doesn't fix it, then....

There are gazillions of nice templates (free) out there, why are you using that horrible template?

It'd be very very difficult, not impossible. It's time, capital, and resource-intensive. Not to talk of the fact that a single individual can not execute this alone.

She was a regular guest at the Nigerian Music Awards in the late '80s and early '90s.

I think this performance was at the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson in 1967 (she had previously appeared on the Tonight Show in 1963).

Miriam Makeba - Pata Pata.

Funny enough, this was the first video I viewed on YouTube. I was so glued to her live performance that I kept replaying over and over. I'm still wondering how I never knew of Miriam Makeba till last night, she looked so happy and beautiful.

I've been shamelessly humming and dancing to this song all day. I LOVE MAKEBA

Poverty mentality.

So it is okay for a millionaire, politician and a musician to have private jets but a pastor is subjected to suffering right?

Serving God doesn't mean you shouldn't enjoy things because the earth is the lord's and the fullness therein

Before most of you (seun inclusive) come to nairaland to type junk maybe you should just take a minute and go through the Bible then read with your IQ (if you have any) not just rush to prove a void point
The fact that you have no inkling what "IQ" means has rendered all you said (which doesn't make sense, btw) useless.

Temptation ? Really? Temptation is a con word. As long as you're human and blood flows through your veins, you're automatically inclined to do some things which the "Holy Bible" labels "SIN"

Probably the best decision but then how do u survive after quitting?
Worked in a place before as a research assistant where we were expected to work Monday to Monday with no free days. The pay was horrible but I hung on cos I was desperate then and didn't have enof experience. They took 3 years of my life till one day I couldn't take it anymore I approached the boss for a raise, he refused so I told him I would quit. He just laughed at me and called my bluff. I quit 3 days later. He called me immediately he got my quit and asked me what my terms where to restart. I told him. He told me I didn't have the credentials to ask for those terms. That was when I started fishing out my documents. I joined the research team as a student, did my masters with them and my post doctorate which he had personally supervised. I submitted all those documents before and never heard anything. I had before then tried severely to speak with him but he kept avoiding me hence my decision to quit.

He looked at the documents I presented him and smiled then said that he had seen those documents and would offer me a lesser position to the one I felt I was entitled to, the position he accepted to offer me was much better than the one I initially had but still under my level. That was when I knew that he had no good intentions for me.
I told him what I wanted and he said if only I had a certain professional certificate he would have given me that position within a twinkle of an eye. I looked him in the eye and pulled out the certificate to that professional exam he had just spoken about.

I had taken that exam a year before and had done it behind his back. Normally one needed to inform the departmental director before sitting for any professional exam but he was so convinced that I needed him so he didn't bother to read some documents I had slipped him to sign a year ago.
U can imagine the shock on his face as he saw the certificate. Still he told me "let me think about it".

They offered me the job and position I asked for but I refused the salary scale and asked for something higher and it was approved the next day. The contract was brought to my house by his secretary. I apologized and rejected the job.

When he called me to find out why I rejected. I told him cos I felt my efforts will be better appreciated elsewhere. He freaked out.
Met him at a seminar some weeks back and we spoke like old friends

Now!! This is the kind of testimony I love reading. You need to get to a stage where you can tell the employer to go f**k themselves!

I got into one 2 months ago in my quest for "self-discipline".

Despite the fact that my trip to work is 2 hours long, it's expected of everyone to get to work at 8am. You can't leave till around 8pm and you'll still have to work at home in the night if the ongoing project has not been completed. I leave home at 6am and get home at 10pm +, including Saturdays.

I continued because I loved my teammates and I was of the opinion that I could get them to join me in the execution of my startup. The pay was ridiculous and the boss threatens everyone. I played along for 2 months and made myself almost indispensable to him...

I decided I've had enough when he wanted to compensate me and he gave me cash that's not even enough for my weekly sub. I made him understand that I'm the one helping him and not the other way round. He called me in the middle of the night and started giving me different offers. It's too late, except he'll accept that I work remotely.

I'm my own boss.
