EQ = People-smart
SQ = Street-smart
AQ = Life-smart

Well said OP, these types of intelligences are required for overall success in life. Sadly, IQ is glorified over others.

Career / Two Bitter Truths About Working For Other People by akinade28(f): 2:56pm On Jan 18
1. Your skills might be relevant to your company today but become irrelevant tomorrow. The world keeps evolving, and demands keep changing.

What should you do?
Learn new skills every year, whether your company requires it or not.
Understand market trends to make it easier to secure your job or find a new one.
Be open to learning and prepare for unexpected changes.

2. Employers are not obligated to be loyal to you.

Why?
They pay for the services you provide.
Companies prioritize their interests and profits.
Businesses are not charities, and your employers are not your family members.
Markets keep changing.

What should you do?
Give your best at work; you will be more valuable and less dispensable.
Let work be work; go back home to the people who will miss you the most when you are gone.
Always prioritize your health; if you drop dead today, your company will replace you within a few days.
Have multiple streams of income; prepare for rainy days.
Continue to network regardless of how comfortable you are at your current workplace.

Despite all the atrocities Jim Jones was committing, his worshippers were still loyal to him to their death.

Despite all what Reverend King did, they are still worshippers that are still loyal to him till today

So, I am not surprised. The mind is a very powerful but yet very feeble thing.

Exactly my thoughts. It is just some human psychology. A lot of similar religious cults are still thriving all around the world despite their leader's atrocities.
Fashion / Re: The African Woman, When? by akinade28(f): 10:41am On Dec 29, 2023
Yashita:
African/Nigerian women love hair attachments and wigs. I just don’t like putting on my head anything that is not growing naturally from my head.

These Asian women that we see their hair as the world’s standard of beauty carry their natural hair year in year out all through the seasons (winter/summer/spring/fall) taking care of their hairs with their locally made products and never feeling the need to wear wigs to “protect” their hairs during harsh seasons.

In fact, when I get rich, I’d like to start a movement/NGO to help African women emancipate themselves from mental slavery. Our natural Afro hair should be our standard of beauty.

We can research and locally produce hair care products and accessories. Grants would be given to researchers/manufacturers of Afro hair products.

Natural Afro hair stylists will be rewarded from time to time.

Schools and higher institutions will be visited often time to sensitise people/girls/women to embrace their Afro hair and be stylish with it.

There’d be a TV show/program where natural hair carriers would creatively style their hairs and earn like BBN, etc.

When would this start? cry

You have refused to address the root cause of ladies not wearing their natural hair instead you only focused on branches.

Take your time to carry out a survey on why women prefer wearing wigs, instead of assuming it is a race's beauty standards or self esteem issue. Else, you will be fighting a lost battle.

Mind you, most of the comments here are from males.

Daddy is a man of God

A lot of people don't understand spiritual hierarchy, and know that lesser spirits are subject to higher spirits.

When a 9 year old boy becomes a king both old and young bow to him. They are not bowing to just a mere 9 year old boy, they are bowing to the ancient spirits that backs the throne he seats upon. The generational spirits that abide with him and posses him.

When these spirit recognize someone that carries a superior spirit, they must pay homage.

The Kings only recognize that baba carries a superior spirit that is greater than the gods of the land. Even the gods can do nothing about it.

If an ordinary person or someone with a lesser spirit try this, he or she will be dealt with by the gods of the land.

I will try my best to explain my afore-expression. Just like you know, life has been difficult. This opened my mind to think deep about life. Look at the hunger, poverty, and the struggle we go through to find happiness.

I look around me, there is no real happiness when I think about it. So I won't mind if it's not too late to exit life and come back. Hopefully in a place where I will be able to invent something reasonable.
I love seeing light and I have always wondered what I could do to make electricity more beautiful. But I made alot of wrong decisions and ended up in ARTS instead of Sciences classes, although my maths was poor.

You said I should Choose to be happy and content," what do I want to be content with?
The pain, hunger or the suffering and short-lived happiness?
Whoever created the Life/program is very intelligent but I don't know why I have to go through so much hardship

Yes, I completely with you, that the world is a sad place filled with hunger, death and struggles. But, if you leave, there is no certainty that you will come back.

What if there is only one chance to life and this is your one and only chance?

Amidst the hunger and the pain of life, there are people who are deliberate about their existence, desperate and deliberate to change their story.

Yes, you have made mistakes but you can correct the mistakes, it is not too late. You can choose to change your career path. Today, I saw the story of a man who went back to school in his 40s to become a doctor at 51.

Currently, I'm also undergoing a career change into the tech world because I feel my current career is putting me in a box. So, I started by watching videos and reading books on computer science for kids, computer science for dummies, I graduated to computer science for high school students until I was able to comprehend more complex topics. Now, I amamazed at the things I can do and the things I know. Although, I'm still in the the transition process and still learning.

So, don't just accept what life throws at you, determine to fight back. You can also start your math journey by watching YouTube videos on maths for kids. The internet is fill with different valuable resources.

It is not going to be easy, I know. But it will be worth it I promise. Even if you completely failed, you will find fulfilment in knowing you gave it your best shot.

Know that there are people who are more disadvantaged who are still happy about life. People living with disabilities still hopeful for tomorrow.

There are people with terminal illness, old people that are praying and hoping that life gives them another chance.

You can still do great things with this single chance at life. I am rooting for you.

I have always wanted to ask this question, at what age is the best to commit suicide?
I figure out, if one wants to escape this present reality and not reincarnate into this present state or life, is there a best age to commit suicide?

I feel if one commit suicide at the wrong age, one may be sent back to Nigeria or a much tougher life

I have always wanted to create a thread about it but I don't want to be criticized

Why do you want escape this present state or life. Yes, life can be tough and you don't always get what you deserve or want.

What if you have only one chance to life and there is no chance for reincarnation? What if the reincarnation is worse, will you quit again?

Consider removing suicidal thoughts completely from your mind. Strive to give this present life your best, do all it takes to make it count. Choose to be happy and content. This will put you at peace.

This is better than hoping for a reincarnation that might be worse and or may never come.

Op, your lamentions is similar to that of king Solomon in the book called Ecclesiastes. Solomon was one of the richest and wisest people that ever lived. Yet, at the end of his life, he found everything to be meaningless

Solomon in the second chapter of the book talked about how he got the best of everything available at his time. That guy had 1000 women from different races, tribes and color.

In the last chapter of his book, he said "Honor your creator while you are young, before you grow old and no longer enjoy living".

He concluded his book by saying "fear God, and obey his commands, for this is the whole duty of man.

A man journeying the earth without his creator will end up chasing shadows.

There is nothing embarrassing about being a virgin at any age or for any gender. It only implies that you have made a choice not to give your body to anyone that isn't your spouse. Sex is cheap, only strong people can make that decision.

Sometimes I feel like ending it all
Am 26 years old and I feel like I don't worth living
I seriously need help
Just some words of encouragement will go a long way.

Hey, girl. What is wrong? Incase you don't mind sharing.

I know the world might seems so dark and it will make you question your existence. You keep asking why am I still here?

You keep wondering if the world and people in it really worth it. Worth the struggle, the pain, the energy, the effort? Trust me, I have been there.

Even though the world might be a dark place and some humans are terrible. However, I have decided to shine my light as long as I have breath. I will do my part to make the world a better place. I choose to see the bright side.

This sense of purpose gives me the energy to wake up every morning. It makes me keep trying until I win. I am not giving up, neither am I giving in. I will keep fighting untill my creator says my time is up.

I might not know what is going on with you but I want you to give yourself a reason to live. Give your life a purpose. Think about the little or big impact you can make in this world while you live in it.

When you give your life a purpose, then the darkness of this world will be worth it, because you shined your light.

Your life is a blank sheet, and you can still choose what will be written about you while you are here. You can choose to write your name in Gold. You can impact life so much that your name will be remember even in thousands of years to come.

Hey, girl. What kind of story do you want people to tell about you?
Should they talk about how you fought hard and won? Or how you gave up at the face of victory?
Always remember a living dog is better than a dead lion.
Will you be a hero or a villain in your own story?
