Foreign Affairs / Re: Where Would South Africa Be Without White People? by all4naija(m): 12:43am
zetdee: "White farmers had become
dependent upon blacks as cheap
labor, and manufacturers were also
using blacks for cheap labor. South
Africa had become urbanized, with 50
percent of the black population living
in cities dominated by white
governments, many of the blacks
there working as semi-skilled labor in
manufacturing, blacks operating
machinery having replaced the white
master-craftsmen of previous
generations. The labor of black people
had become a mainstay of South
Africa's economy, but with wage
discrimination.
A law had beeny
passed creating what was called a
Civilized Labor Policy, which protected
the wage levels of white workers and
left employers free to hire blacks at
wages as low as possible. And there
was the Bantu Act of 1953, which took
schools away from missions and
assured that whites would receive an
education that was different from and
superior to that of blacks."

www.fsmitha.com/h2/ch34-sa.htm

Anyone who says blacks didn't do anything to make SA what it is today is clearly insane.
This your comment is highly questionable. How would blacks be in hem of affairs and be discriminated on the matter of income? That just proved that the blacks are not in the positions you claimed they are.

Please, go back and do some researches. I will never accept such arrant error in whatsoever way.

Coma_Berenices: This is pure continental jealousy and wilful ignorance from my father's people. The Nigerians.

Talking about airports, I was actually in South Africa for the opening of the King Chaka airport. I went up the control room and spoke to the politicians. I was truly inspired.

I just checked now and am excited to see the airport is ranked second best in Africa. The best is Cape Town. And 3rd best is Johannesburg.

These top 3 airports rank higher than any of my airports in the US. Even I can't hate on that.

http://www.howwemadeitinafrica.com/africas-top-three-airports-rank-higher-than-any-airports-in-the-usa/26124/

Take a bow South Africa.

This is disgusting small-man mentality from Nigeria. I wouldn't worry about this. This is classic Nigeria doing outside what they do well at home. Hatin'.
What is your argument, mister? It is clear the airport or whatsoever things your saw are done by the whites of that society. Some of you just jumped into the matter without abreasting yourself of what is being discussed.

Please, reread most of the previous comments to have better understanding of the matter.

All4naija guy you have shown time and time again you don't come here with an open mind. Your mind is already made up you say we have achieved nothing as a people. Your like a politician you never answer the question, you answer the question you wish you had been asked. You still haven't proven your "FACTS"
What facts are required of me than what I have stated. They are the reality on ground. From history to the present generation of things. The evidence point to the whites of that society to be responsible for its development we see today. No black has made any technological and nation building impact in that country. That is a subjective fact!
Foreign Affairs / Re: Where Would South Africa Be Without White People? by all4naija(m): 12:34am
zetdee:

I don't think any of your points have any meaning. The point is without black South Africans providing the cheap labor, the country would not be developed to the extent it is today. The present of black people doing the dirty work, allowed white people to pursuit other activities which they wouldn't have had time to do if they didn't have blacks. The South African white population is the size of Norway, but SA ranks higher than Norway in terms of infrastructure and development. While other African countries were fighting civil wars, black South Africans were working in mines, farms and manufacturing under very difficult conditions to make their country wealthy, saying they didn't contribute to where the country is today is ludicrous. You were boasting on the other thread about eko Atlantic to a Ghanain, but got irritated and played the race card when a south african was showing pictures of development in Durban which has happened within the last 5 years. Below are projects by Chinese companies, that will also be using Chinese labor to build them, remind Nigerians not to brag about them when their finished.

Your stark disposition of misunderstanding is patronizing. How in the whole wide world you guys keep regurgitating the same baseless information without reality on ground to support it is appalling to say the least. Black cheap labors you claimed to be responsible for the development of SA today is a blatant lie, as if that is what actually build South Africa. It is clear there have always been cheap black labors around Africa. Why are the other African countries not as developed as SA? Keep fooling yourself and think you are making some revealing argument here.

I hope you will learn and use your brain to figure out what I am talking about soon.

When are you guys going to stop this your puffiness to gain some feeling of superiority in an inferior way? Jeez! It doesn't tell good of many South Africans coming here to flaunt.

The rate at which women are being abused around the world is alarming. urgent and drastic measures must be taken to protect them. Women activists against domestic and other attacks on women must be formed quickly to fight these menacing problems.Government, NGOs,and other UN body on women rights must do something. It is becoming unbearable!

Ndubuisi711: My fellow countrymen, I don't know if you have ever realised that Nigeria's total budget is smaller than that of SA and Egypt in three fold. Nigeria has to look after 170 million people who are even more than the total population of SA in three fold. How do you expect Nigeria to compete with smaller nations like Egypt and SA, yet with larger treasury? Those countries can manage to buy Subs without sustaining any financial injuries.
Can you post your statistical findings ,please? If not, kindly shut the f**k up!

DictatorZAR:

I hope those same NA Navy troops can tackle the growing piracy threat which is becoming even more dangerous then Somali waters according to UN reports on the piracy problems in the Gulf of Guinea in recent times.

With 300 small and medium crafts the same NA Navy can't even protect 800km of its territorial waters. This all said Nigerian waters has become the third most dangerous place to drift.
http://m.yahoo.com/w/legobpengine/finance/news/crime-at-sea--the-world-s-most-dangerous-waters-171430018.html?intl=us&.lang=en-us

Now the same thing almost happened in Southern Africa where Somali pirates started to venture into Tanzania and the Mozambican Channel and SA Navy with a submarine and frigate quickly deployed to Mozambique, Tanzania and Madagascar to stop there adventure in its tracks and which resulted in arrests and not a single Somali pirate ever again tried there luck in the Mozambican channel since 2010(not a single pirate attack).

I personally admire the Nigerian amphibious. But SA's coast line doesn't have those creeks like Nigeria's Delta region and the fact that SA has some of the most violent oceanic conditions on the planet also, so those type of ships aren't suited for South African coastal conditions.

That said I hope that the UN's Gulf of Guinea's prediction of becoming even worse then Somali waters, never materialize.
Your argument is patchy and designed with some skeptical views at first. You quickly give a hand of support at the concluding part which is a good thing. Although, with your revealing comment you are very good with prestidigitation, my friend.

However, your concluding part is nice seeing in your comment again. We are ready to cooperate with any of our African brothers to help them in many areas and learn from them in some aspects.

paniki: What would be of Nigeria without whites? They were in Nigeria for a very long time; then they left; and now they're slowly coming back along with the Asians.

Even if South Africa were to build a new city tomorrow, Nigerians will say it's white man's magic.
Thank you. Maybe you can open a thread for that discussion. This one is about what would South Africa be without the white people of that society not about Nigeria.

To start using some cunning avenue to pass your derailing argument across is unacceptable. It is right you do what I said earlier by opening a thread for that.

Thank you, once again.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Where Would South Africa Be Without White People? by all4naija(m): 12:43pm On May 22
blitz8701: White people played a huge role in developing africa as a whole. We all know that, even nigeria wouldn't be anywhere without white people, we wouldn't be having this conversation on niraland if it wasn't for white people. They have invented a lot of things that we as africans and the rest of the world use currently, even the clothes on our backs is thanks to white people, the english we're able to speak and insult each other here with questions like "where would SA be without whites is thanks to westerners. Yes white people build SA at the backs of black people. But whites taught us how to survive in the modern world and we have used that knowledge to build a better and more improved SA. The white mans development stopped and ceased after 1994. In fact a huge number of them left and a lot of western countries thought the country would go to the dogs, but look at us today, we are stronger than ever.

I've said this before and I will say it again "this thread is silly, and it has been created by people with envy and jealousy of the progress that has been made by SAs. Was UCT the best university in africa before 1994? NO! Was OR Tambo the best airport in africa before 1994? NO! Did the apartheid government host the first world cup in africa? NO!. White people came to nigeria and left 50 years ago, nigeria has been free for over 50 years, so tell me what do u have to show for it? Keep envying our success and I promise u that u will go no-where. U have a 30year head start before SA gained her freedom. We were freed 30 after u and yet we are 50 years ahead of u,I wonder how that works? Ohw I know tribalizm. The real question that I would start pondering and posting it online afterwards if I were u is "where would nigeria be without tribalism?" Always remember my dear friend "TOGETHER WE STAND DEVIDED WE FALL". And ohw all4naija "white-mans lap dog" this is adressed to u.
First and foremost, I know you didn't read the thread with an open mind and that is a bit disturbing to know while looking at the argument from the title perspective. It is clear nobody really wants to put any country down based on the history it has behind it not until some South Africans who would want to pride themselves around thinking they are better than others want to be worshiped. We have seen these types of people coming around to brag about their development and using barbaric terms for us who aren't South Africans. Many of their defenses as views are centered around what we know becomes of the present generation of the people who once suffered in the hand of their own people(the white masters). Mind you, we are just stating things the way they are and it is palpable most of you don't like things to be addressed from a factual angle. That is the basic reason that leads the thread to what soon becomes part of the racial discussions leading to many discourses here.

On the side of history you are trying to bring into this matter to hide reality on ground points out you have not been able to view the matter from a wider perspective that requires of you some elements of truth and research. That is, you haven't really look into the reasons why the white people of that society choose to remain there. Those reasons I would try my best possible to spell out to you in the light of truth.

In the past, almost all African nations colonized with best controllable rudimentary. If I am fully right, Ethiopia is the only country that is not in that aspect of African past experience. The colonial era makes some huge impacts on African society and development which can be seen in the remaining architectural buildings that littered many countries around the continent, arts found in the museums, those places of worship in many cities and villages and just to mention but a few. They bring with them some sanity into African barbaric practices like sacrifices to idols, they bring modern education, they bring civil society and many others which are the backbones of what many African society is based on today. Indeed, no African nation can boastfully say his or her country doesn't have one or more of these aspect of live.

After the colonial era many African nations got independence(mostly in the 1960s) that sees the white masters and their families returning back to their various countries. It is correct to know only South Africa remains to be accepted to be home to many who refused to go back to Europe due to the reason they have made that place their home by developing it to their own taste that is never replicated elsewhere around Africa. That gives us an insight into what becomes the struggle for freedom in post-colonial South Africa that the world can't address immediately. The reasons why such development is not replicated in other countries in Africa is that they(colonial masters)never intended to called those places home because no huge resources discovered as at then, many have no compelling climate and large economies to work with as they are often used to. South Africa is the only country that yield much(in gold, diamond, etc as at then) and the whites decided to develop it for themselves, which becomes a focal point to fight for the next African freedom taking so many lives with it in the modern time to fight. Arguably, what to be fought for by others who know what to be subjected to imperialism means. Before the 1994 freedom is granted the nation experiences routinely internal disturbances which are far worse than what we are seeing today coming from Boko Haram in Nigeria. It usurps the peace in that nation and many black South Africans turn to crimes for their grievances. That soon makes that country becomes the most crimes ridden nation in the world as of today, which, they are now blaming on Nigerians living in that country.

Having said the aforementioned reasons, South Africans blacks come around to brag of their development in this thread all rather this forum how developed their country is and the reason why others most worship them requires no long reasoning before to tell them who are actually behind what they are boasting of without their own good inputs. It is absolutely clear we are trying to let them know the reasons why their nation is developed than others in Africa. That generally leads to what soon become the argument that brings in diverse views with so many discourses we are seeing now.

As we progress through these reasons it is right South African blacks don't want to stop beating their chests about how developed their country is while they are still living in the squalor of Townships in most developed nation of Africa as their forefathers land. It is a shame the indigenous people of South Africa coming here with aura of puffiness to tells us how much they are better than and claiming it to be for their hard-working nature and the educated society. Those we know are questionable evidences when fully scrutinized to the least details. The least can even be demanding as the blacks of that society are not educated while they claim most of the advancement in that society comes from them.

I would advise you to take a glimpse of the previous posts in this thread to have a better understanding of the idea on what the topic is all about and the reason the argument turns into what we it is now. Only for many to come here blaming me for stating facts as they are. Another thing is that many South Africans tend to remove the whites from the picture of the development of that country and give excuses on how they left the present government with huge deficits. That alone speaks lot about their stand on the argument and why they are not ready to say the truth.

You would agree with me here that South African development is nothing of the blacks of that society effort inputs but of the mechanism that has been put in place what their white masters of the past who are willing to stay and make that country their home. Therefore they develop it to their own taste and bring about what we know of South Africa of today. And, that must be mentioned and commended.

Thank you.

Okay!!! Nigerians never made a thorough thoughts before engaging in any shameful act at all. I can't imagine people entrusted with such work are now involved in transporting narcotic drug yet somebody is giving excuse on their behalf for such incriminating action in this thread.

This has come to prove how most of us view crimes as Nigerians. It is a shame on our side. A big shame that we need to start cleaning up right away, starting from the very top to the bottom. We might be the leaders of tomorrow to educate the world on how crimes can damage any nation, if only we take the right steps to fight them now.

We should shun all vices of criminality, in all walks of life. Nigerians, we all have a great job ahead to do. There is no excuse of whatsoever to give here than stand against criminality and injustice. And, it starts with you and I!
