Sen.Marafa and Sen.Magnus Abe should be suspended immediately for Anti-Party Activities... Abe and Marafa Caused APC Defeat In both Rivers and Zamfara....Marafa should Have let go of the Cases instead of fighting the Party to Death in the State ## Adams should do the Needful by Suspending Every Members That fought the Party till Death in their various States.

The position is too powerless to make an impact in a presidential election. Honestly speaking i didnt even know who is the present chairman until i read it now. However, Tinubu is supporting Fayemi, thats why EL Rufai lashed out at Tinubu. The report by Guardian that Tinubu is against Fayemi is incomplete and deceitful.
you're right... The Rift between El-Rufai and Tinibu is because BAT projected Fayemi for The NGF top seat....The Nation Newspaper reported it few days ago that SE PDP Governors have endorsed Fayemi but many said it was nothing but lies from BAT Newspaper... Anyways,Best of Luck to Fayemi

Politics / Re: Ore: From Theatre Of War To Industrial Hub by Babatundecash(m): 8:15am On May 09, 2019
tactius:

Not necessarily...the idea was to open up a war on two fronts for the Nigerian Army

At the start of the Civil War in 1967, the Midwest Region was neutral and the war was being fought on the Biafran northern border. As a result, the Biafran Army opened up a second front by capturing the Midwest region...which was lightly defended, entering the Western region, capturing Ore, with Lagos being in their sights (a creek-borne invasion was planned)

This invasion had two effects

1.It tipped the Western region to the Federal side (previously they were kind of neutral).

2.It forced Gowon to declare total war, form a total war cabinet, and begin to fight seriously

The Midwest region was recaptured, and the war heated up.

P.S The Biafran Midwest governor...Albert Okonkwo declared the Midwest a republic called 'Benin Republic' which lasted 24 hours. The idea was to have a buffer state between Biafra and Nigeria. It did not work

PS2. As a result of the failed invasion, several biafran officers...Ifeajuana, Banjo and several others including Sam Alale were executed for treason.(Rumor has it that they were planning to capture the Western region, then remove Ojukwu, and then acheive the goals of the January coupists....something alluded to by Ademoyega in his book 'Why we struck')

Thanks for the enlightenment.

Because after being defensive against an army hell bent on finishing you, you vex and get offensive after a while. You really need to read the history books, you will just realise that you will do the same thing Ojukwu did. The man never wanted a war. He and gowon went to Aburi in Ghana where the Aburi peace accord was signed. He believed there was peace and room for further discussions. The next few days later, he received news that Nigerian soldiers had started advancing against the biafra region from north central and South west. Gowon had let himself to be influenced by the northern officers and traditional rulers. It wasn't what they discussed but the man had to mobilise and defend a fight with an army he barely had time to put together.
I can forward you some extracts

OK....Thanks

Lagos was the capital of Nigeria then.

Back then, and even now, once you capture a country's capital, and take over the seat of their power, you have won the war, the country will surrender and demand for peace or negotiation to end the war and agree to your terms.

Ojukwu knew Biafra was not prepared for war, so when Gowon the then Head of State of Nigeria declared war on Biafra in what he called Police Action to return Biafra back to Nigeria after Ojukwu declared that Eastern Nigeria is now on their own and to be known as Biafra, Ojukwu moved all Biafran brave soldiers and commandos towards Lagos, with the intention of capturing Lagos so Gowon could run away and demand for seize fire and allow Biafra to go.

So Ojukwu's intention to capture Lagos was to end the war fast before Nigerian foreign allies (Britain, Egypt, etc) came on board and used air raids, superior firepower and heavy air bombardment and military backup to dislodge Biafran soldiers from capturing Lagos. Biafran soldiers were already to Sagamu when they stopped advancing towards Lagos when the Biafran Military commander instructed them to stop advancement until further instruction, which gave Nigerian army time to regroup and confront Biafran soldiers and pushed them back to Ore.

It was never meant to take over Southwest, but to end the war fast and save Biafra the load of engaging in a long civil war without a former national army or economy structure.

Hope u understand better now

OK...Thanks for the enlightenment and God bless you

South should come out with one voice and support theirselves.
You're absolutely right... I'm from North Central and kogi State to be precise, I don't like the disunity among my Southern Brothers and Sisters... The North have done theirs and it's time for the South to come out in one accord... If PDP go ahead to field A Tambuwal or kwankwaso in 2023...Tinubu,Okorocha,PYO,Elechi and kalu should kiss the presidency goodbye.. Take it or leave PMB will not be on Ballot in 2023 and North are Power Hungry and you don't expect them to leave a Tambuwal to vote Tinubu... That's impossible....Let the South be wise and they pray PDP should not fix a candidate from the North.

yeah you are 100% correct, Buhari can never loose to Atiku not in the North, I said before that Atiku committed political blunders by picking his running mate from South East, we all know southeast and south/south are PDP's, anybody PDP picks as their presidential candidate they will vote for him, southwest is APC, if he had picked his running mate from southwest there's possibility that southwest votes would be divided or even majority votes for him.
Sentiment plays majority role in election, many people don't care about the profile of the candidates they vote for once the candidate is from their region/state they will vote for him.
Political sentiment is what is killing Nigeria today u can't expect southwest to leave Osinbajo and vote for Obi.
Forget the sentiment Bro... SW does not Vote along Religion or Ethnic Line... Are you referring to the same Osinbajo that lose At Polling unit, ward and Local Government level to Atiku/Obi...I'm in Ondo State and Osinbajo factor or His trader money does not add to anything.. [quote author=DeLaRue post=75453898]Without serious election day pay-per-vote by APC, I believe PDP will win Ondo. And that's despite the fact that the PDP structure in the state is weak, and lacking notable heavyweights with serious financial firepower. Heck, people will even tell you Atiku 'is a thief,' yet they'll go on to say they prefer him to Buhari.

It's the economy. People are very bitter about their economic situation. They hold Buhari responsible.

When I ask people about their voting intentions, between 7 & 8 out of 10 say they'll vote PDP. Clearly, this is not a scientific poll, hence it could be widely inaccurate. But one thing is certain, Ondo people are stubborn & independent-minded when it comes to politics. Despite the near-blanket presence of PYO posters everywhere, most of them will vote their conscience.

I hope APC know they have a big fight on their hands in the SW. If they assume SW voters will vote for them just because of the vice President, they will get the shock of their lives.

Whatever happens APC will not get a landslide in the SW...unless of course, they employ vote inducement with big cash handouts on election day. Or, just rig the elections.

You're right... I stay in OWO LGA and I am 100% sure That Atiku will defeat Aketi in His LGA... PDP structure is weak but every 8 of 10 on the street will tell you they are voting Atiku... APC will clinch other seat but Buhari will be defeated in Gov.Akeredolu Local Government

Atiku can't be an option in Ondo/Ekiti. APC has a very robust structure in Ondo and I don't see Atikulated PDP being able to challenge that. The man ATIKU is not sellable to an average Yoruba man, the name is synonymous with corruption & looting. Look through the faces on that stage & you will understand clearly that these are hungry vultures waiting for perfect opportunity to strike & devour our common patrimony with speed of light.

I'm not sure you're from Ondo State... If truly you live in the State, it means you're far from reality... APC and Aketi have a robust and strong structure in the State and that will give APC upper hand in the State Assembly and NASS election but Atiku will beat Buhari Blue and Black in the presidential election...
