Gas station is more lucrative compared to a fuelling station. I work at the Refinery depot so I tell you this with all sincerity
The cost of setting a gas station is a bit cheaper compared to fuel station, depending on the size of lpg tank you are going for.

Do you have an idea of how much it costs to set up a gas plant?

fuel station if subsidy continues ! Gas plant post subsidies.

Could you please explain more?

What is the effect of subsidy removal on either and what is the average cost to set up any of them?

Which of these is more lucrative? Does anyone know what it could potentially cost to setup both?

Yes of course. I just hope no motivational speaker de one corner telling you that money doesn't give happiness. It does. Hundred percent. Money is like fuel, the more fuel you have, the more you can visit all the places you want to go.

A poor man had only his legs, so your money takes you far in life quicker, than one without it. Money is a vehicle. Just having money doesn't bring happiness, but money get you things that makes you happy.

Money is freedom. You don't have to tolerate any stupid boss, and can just be in South Africa tomorrow because you feel bored. How can you not be happy? And with like a million usd, you just buy western citizenship for you snd your family, ending the problem nigeria gives to you instantly. Should I continue?

Everything you mentioned are "material things" and these things will make a material person happy.

For the material person, he has to keep buying stuff to stay happy

How do you think an immaterial can truly be happy?

For someone who doesn't get excited over a gwagon or an iphone, increase in salary/income or whatever. Do you think money can give him happiness

Good evening sir. I'm very sorry for quoting you on this dead thread sir. I can say it was God's plan that I met you here. Pls don't overlook me. Pls I really need your help. I'm a student and my project work got approved for the past two weeks now after so many sleepless nights and effort and after spending alot. I've been asked to go do the binding and submit it. But I'm too broke now, I've called my single parent countless times but it's not easy at home too. Most of my friends had done theirs and left for home. I'm just staying here hoping for miracle to happen and no menial job around the school. I would've been at home now planning for what's next. Please sir come to my aid and help me in any way even if it is by paying part of the money and I will forever appreciate you. I can send you the PDF of the project work and I promise to snap and send you the project after the binding. Please I don't know who to turn to again, I'm just here starving and staying idle, please help me because of God. Thank you so much sir.

You are correct. I hardly show off. I won't deny that money is good and solves problem but I'm thinking there could be more to life that gives true peace and calmness

It appears that your happiness had been depending on your life achievements but the moment you lost the excitement for more exploits, you simply hit the rock.

You need the ability to separate yourself from everything that make up your world and look inward so to discover your inner man. Humans often discover too late that we have everything within us.

This is more likely the problem.

But how can one discover inner peace

The bolded are very dangerous feelings to have as an entrepreneur, snap out of it ASAP if you can.
I felt same way too some years back and it took bailouts upon bailouts from my mother to get me back on track.
Be very careful with content ,because what follows will be "relax" and then you start to get sloppy, you stop paying attention and then you'll find yourself on the ground.
I am still feeling this way again but I fight it by heaping huge responsibilities and setting higher targets on my enterprise and my team, adding businesses to it steadily so that it keeps me and the team on our toes and increase our obligations and hence increase our hunger.
Be careful.

Oh boy. You described it perfectly.

When I was ambitious, I used to have high targets for the year. It started from 1m/year and it grew every higher until it was 20m/year over 5 years then I stopped setting targets cos it all happened so fast. I guess I have to give me some unrealistic targets to really get out of this feeling

No amount of money can make you completely happy.

Yes, it can make you happy initially, but after some time, depression comes in.

Happiness comes when we meet the needs of others and in a good relationship with our creator.

Maybe.

I also think true happiness is transient. Tranquility and joy is what i seek. Unfortunately, this is hard to find and not found in the material things of the world

So do you now consider yourself rich?
Have u also thought about how far you would have gone by now if you had an enabling background (financially supportive family) in addition to your hustling, hardworking and positive spirit?

Some people consider me very rich.

I would never know how far I'd have gone if I was born into wealth but one thing I know is that I'm not as ambitious as I was. I seem to have reached complacency and contentment. Maybe poverty was my motivation.

I wrote a thread about how money no longer excites me.

Thinking aloud all through last night, I have thought very deeply till 1am this morning on how a particular pattern Of wealth and affluence drives In a family and society expecially in this part of the world.

Studying the life of rich and influential individuals in the society, most of them seem to come from an already established or comfortable home, this worries me since I and my siblings aren't really from a well-to-do home or a rich background.
For example,
Seyi tinubu is already successful and famous and doing well, all thanks to his father Bola tinubu and understandably, tinubu himself also had a rich parent and studied in the US and With the western exposure they come back home and do great things, Obaseki of Edo state, Femi otedola's father was a governor of Lagos state, I can go on and on.
Your background and the environment you grew up in either impacts your life positively, or negatively, and could determine your future. But only if you allow it to. From the experiences of many, a humble upbringing, absence of one parent or lack of education does not mean that your future is doomed.

What's your opinion? Please no sentiments, religious or emotional comments pls, only reasonable argument is welcome.
would really appreciate if this can get to the front page for more logical explanations.

This is not true. Let me encourage you

I grew from absolutely NOTHING.

Although I acknowledge the existence of Grace, I dare say it is mostly available to those who put in some effort.

In the university, someone tagged to me a FB post, the post was "tag someone who you know will be a millionaire in 5 years time"

This shocked me. At the time, I was really struggling but I bet he saw my push and hustling spirit.

Another guy told me "you be like person to watch out for". Another said "you nor be person wey Dem dey lose e contact oo"

I remember their words clearly cos I took them to God in prayer.

I was involved in a lot of small businesses and jobs, some not very appealing but I wanted out of the poverty I was born into.

In secondary school, I cleared bush for stipends and did assignments for my classmates for a fee, helped people copy notes.

I have never been out of cash no matter how small. If I have zero today, I will go outside and come back with 500-1000 to survive that day. This literally happened and my guy said "you be like person papa" and I was only 19.

My start up capital was 5000 in 2012 which was my monthly allawee as a student and it has grown tremendously since then. I had no help from ANYONE. It was just me and my God.

Have the right mindset and keep God close to your heart

You may not know but it's an attitude of ingratitude because thinking or even asking if money gives happiness is a big pointer to the fact that youre underrating the power of money and how it can affect your emotions

Money gives happiness but you fail to see it now because it's still there. you won't know how valuable a thing is until you lose it. I pray you dont lose it.

I see your point. Thank you

Op, you're not alone. There was a time I was so comfortable though not a millionaire but could afford anything I wanted. It got to point I began to feel like money is not everything to the point I voiced it out to my younger sister. It didn't just feel so special any more then like how it makes people go Gaga that they wanna do dangerous stuff to get it at all cost.

At that point I wasn't really excited as whatever I wanted I got. I want to believe such feeling is a deception from the devil to make you unappreciative and ungrateful to God cos after I made that statement, things got a little tough and I began to see the importance of money and also appreciate God for all he did that period I had excess and then realized it was the devil making me devalue or underplay its importance all along.

Now I appreciate and value the littlest of things and above all, God.

So, please get rid of that attitude of ingratitude.

No, It's not ingratitude. In fact, I think it might be too much of gratitude and contentment but I'm not sure. I am very comfortable and appreciative of where I am, was, and came from. I used to be so ambitious but not anymore. The desire for more is now nonexistent yet what was already gotten isn't as exciting as one would expect. A part of me thinks it's because I am not materialistic.

Life is puzzling.

Sometimes I wonder why our politicians steal so much. By God's grace, I became rich and graced to see hundreds of million. A few contracts here and there and a great career. But here comes a new problem. This doesn't excite me anymore. The next 10 million is not going to make my life any better. Promotion at work, increase in income, nothing excites me anymore and worse is that I am not materialistic at all, so acquiring gadgets, toys, or building mansions could never make me excited. I live a very simple life, wear basic quality fashion items, and drive simple cars. This is just my personality and not an act of humility.

Despite all the many good things that have happened in my life and all the things that I could potentially acquire. I am at a stage where I am really confused about myself.
Sometimes I buy unnecessary things I don't need just to feel like I am spending money. Other times, I am quick to assist deserving friends.

If you are not materialistic and yet, rich. How did you overcome this problem? This problem has left me in a state where I am neither happy nor sad.
