Sports / Re: Espn's Top 50 Players At The 2010 World Cup. No Nigerian Player! by chidichris(m): 9:40am On May 29, 2010
oga,
u are fake, ur list is fake and not current and ur knowledge of football is fake.
if u are close to any soccer news, u will know that essien, ballack and benzema among others are all out of world cup.
if u really like nigerian footballers as u pretend, u can replace these 3 players with at least 3 nigerian players that is if u care.
if u ask me, i know who to fix where to make up my own list of 50.
please in making-up ur list, make sure of who and who that will be in world cup.
finally, such great players as beckham, george weah , ronaldinho etc are all out of world cup as players so be careful who u will include.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Arsenal And The Heart Of Fabregas by chidichris(m): 9:32am On May 29, 2010
this is always the case whenever a player wants to leave arsenal.
if a player is good, the only way to prove that is by winning trophies and these trophies will speak for u when u are nolonger playing.
if fabregas continues and finishes his carrier in arsenal, tomorrow his mates will be pointing to their kids at the trophies they won during their playing days and he will only have emirate cups to show for all his football carrier.
wenger and club owners are out to make money and names for themselves hence players with ambition must go on with their lives not minding what wenger and his fans have to say.
wenger as his board member have the worst policies in football. u want a young player to play out his life at the club only to be dumped when he is 30, for who?
fabrgas was insulting players like adebayor when they wanted to leave, now it is his turn.
i suggest wenger knows what he is doing. he will sale fabregas and invest the money in about 30 students out of whom he will raise like two so the board will come back next season to celebrate the profit.
it is only in arsenal that ppl eat their cake and still have them.

are u new here? why will u post good news here? well, am sorry no one is going to say anything to this topic because it has to do with positive thing happening to mikel and nigeria.
pls when next u want to post, look for negative news about mikel or anyother player and u will see how useless ppl arround will rush the topic.
most of the ppl around here are enemies of progress and have nothing to do with good news.

nigerians are great enemies of the truth. imagine an idiot poster calling martins an idiot for simply saying the truth.
what are u expecting from the politicised super eagles?
what is amodu going to south africa to do after his sack? where were u when a coach in the name of amodu told nigerian not to expect much from the super eagles before the nations cup?
if u think martins is saying rubbish, you can go ahead and tell us that which makes u and ur friends happy.

Sports / Re: Another Referee Beat Up: What Can We Do To Stop This? by chidichris(m): 8:19am On May 28, 2010
i was listening to all these tv soccer analysts one day and one of them said, in every game, the team playing home has the responsibilities of accommondating, feeding and transporting the match officials.
if that is true, how can a team do all these and still loose a match? the ref at least must learn to appreciate and give one or two penalties to the home team depending on the kind of services given to the ref by the team.

Politics / Re: Selective Justice Is As Bad As No Justice by chidichris(m): 8:01am On May 28, 2010
in this whole noise about war against corruption, who has really been handled like a criminal among these so called criminal politicians?
take a trip to our public places and witness the jungle justice melted out on poor ppl who still maggi or pick pockets in our streets.
bode george is in jail today, but who said he is not even enjoying more than 95% nigerians who are not in jail?
alams was jailed and some of his loots recovered, who said he is still not rich or richer than ever?
the issue of running is not new here in nigeria so i wonder why ppl are surprised when one runs.
umaru dikko, ribadu, el rufai have all done same and now ibori so if tomorrow ground levels, he will come back a leader and not a criminal.
the evils of selectice justice are more dangerious that corruption itself.
if not for selective justice, why will men like chris uba and the late adedibu be celebrated as heros despite their crimes against govt and the masses?
now ribadu has writen an appology and we all kept quiet, assuming ibori decides to write appology tomorrow?
if anyone is in doubt of what selective justice is doing in nigeria, let that one compare nigeria to any country of the world.
i think nigeria is the only country in this world without electricity and we are sixth as the highest oil producing country in the world.

Either the UAE guys are dumb or they're very dumb,if spurrious papers show up alleging political persecution of Ibori in Nigeria,did any papers show up alleging same in the UK?let him be handucffed and bundled to the UK ASAP

BTW,what are those jokers from the EFCC still doing in te UAE,their mission is very suspicious,I'm not totally convinced they're not sypmtathetic to Ibori

@rasputinn,
ur type is the reason why nigeria has refused to move forward. where were u all these while ribadu and el rufai refused to appear in court? why are u asking why all of a sudden ppl that were declared criminals have turned to be saints. am talking about confirmed criminals like atiku, ribadu and el rufai?
even if ibori is a criminal, he is operating at state level and as such is not nigeria's problem. what is happening in our electricity supply, roads, security and national armenities? why is no one answering cases on things and issues that are federal related or is nigeria ok at federal levels?
established cases of bribery(siemens and harlibuton) involving all the full time criminals in nigeria have been there for ages yet ibori all of a sudden becomes the object of divertion and u all accept this madness.
Politics / Re: Obj Is Bad Yes, But He's Still Nigeria's Best Ever President. No Contest by chidichris(m): 9:40pm On May 27, 2010
@chidicris Name one hausa man that has done 1/4 of what OBj did for Nigeria ? Both living and dead.

@edoyad,
it is either ur age or lack of information is responsible for such a comparism.
if u were born when shagari was the president of nigeria, u will know that N100 will make u be more influential than a millionaire of today here in nigeria.
if u were born when shagari was president, u will know nobody went to church to give testimony that after 10 yrs of waiting, he has finally been given visa to the uk.
from 1999 till date, if nigeria has data base or record of number of our youths outside this country, u will know how far we are into hardship.
have been able to visit any of all these neighbouring countries like benin republic, togo, ghana, ivory coast and senegal? if u have been there, u will feel my bitterness on how our youths are wasting in countries that are supposed to be doing odd jobs for us here.
i will like to remind u today that obj is the only human being that has ruled nigeria as a military man as well as civilian president(8 yrs or 2 terms)
if u say no one has done what obj did, yes, i agree because obj is the only nigerian president that deleted two communities even when there is no war? yes, it was only obj that saw an active attorney general of the federation killed like a fly without trace. u are right because it was only under obj that a whole ship disappeared till date without trace. ok, under obj $16b was invested into power supply and the situation in ur area is the outcome. only under obj that N300b roads contracts were awarded to one man who used it judiciously and later became the NPA chairman by merits.
which other president allowed or announced a do or die election in nigeria? only obj.
obj/iwu combination was the illussion of all elections in the world as was recorded in 2007.
even if u are 10 years old, google and other search engines are there for u to make researches before u talk in a public forum like this.

Politics / Re: Death Penalty For Corruption by chidichris(m): 6:10pm On May 27, 2010
the truth is that if the death sentence issue is passed here in nigeria, it means cameroun and benin republic will inherit our lands and properties.
every nigerian is corrupt and that means we will all die.
i think the best thing will be for us to include corruption in our constitution so that if u are not corrupt, u will be guilty while those of us who are corrupt will be innocent.
if we do it like that, nobody will run away with our money and nobdy will seek aslyum. no one will accuse anyone and we will not have pretenders like ribadu and el rufai. everybody will be either ibori or obasanjo and we will all enjoy.
and we will just change our name to corruption instead of nigeria.
we will open our boarders to foreign criminals and those of us who are not corrupt will go and see corruption asylum in some other countries.

why do we nigerians like blaming ex-leaders 4 all our problems.what was the standard of living before OBJ era,he brought hope to common man,i believe present and future president should build on good side of his reforms.OBJ has a charisma i admire

@Sammiejokes,
if na obasanjo give u hope, it means u are still hopeless.
1999 till date, tell me how much a 3 bed room flat has increased to? what do u understand by standard of living and in which aspect of ur life u have improved?
if u are well informed, u will not mention standard of living in any obj related topic(s). what is the standard of living of a ppl who cannot sleep at night because of generator noisesssssssssssssssssssssssss?
nigerians are yet to talk about standard of living as the only possible discussion here in nigeria is cost of living and suffering and smilling.
if u are a village based okuko, take a trip to cotonou and then discuss standard of living from there.
look at the picture of ur best president - pls this picture is for ppl above 18 only.
this particular picture has won many awards.

@nairalanders,
what happened to ur brains? nobody want to arrest ibori. all they want is ibori to be out of politics and elections come 2011.
ibori has done what they want so better u guys look for someother stories to tell.
why was ribadu not extraditted when he refused to appear before the law here in nigeria and ran away to uk.
if uk could not send ribadu back why wanting ibori? what is the guarrantted that when they notice that ibori's money is finished, they will not tell us that he dressed like a woman and excaped from uk?
uk love money so they are looking for the easiest ways to bring ibori to uk and he will release some of his funds to them.
uae on their own will not be that stupid to chase a man with too much money and connections out of their country.
it is not possible to see any nigerian politician that does not have investment in dubai, never so all of them will be siezed if they make more noise.

Politics / Re: Obasanjo Supports Malawi Government: Condemns Homosexuality As An 'abomination' by chidichris(m): 5:25am On May 27, 2010
Me, as a liberal, my position on homosexuality is:

They are free to do any sick thing they want to as long as:

a) It does not promote their sick acts (no favourable legislations, no propagandish reporting by stewpid media)

b) It does not try to make it mainstream (that is not on TV, not in public, not teaching my kids in school to accept)

c) It does not come close to me arse or any show interest in me!

If what they are doing in that sick companionship does not fail these 3 tests, I am liberal. Otherwise clamp down on them.

@sagamite,
now i know why u reason like an ode. u use ur ass my dear. stop been stylish abt it. come out straight.

@topic,
i hate to see obj talk about morality. some ppl may support the act of homosexuality but no one supports the act of sleeping with one's daughter inlaw.
let obj shut his gutters and allow ppl with moral sanity to discuss issues that are moral related.
Sports / Re: Mikel Obi Vs Alex Song by chidichris(m): 5:16am On May 27, 2010
How do you rate a player as being better than the other?

The answer to this, as most things are, is relative. It is relative to a series of relevant criteria.
Determining a better player between the 2 will have to take into consideration of how effective
they were able to carry out their coaches instructions, measuring their impact on the play of the
team and how well you like the player (and this plays a major role when you are about to decide)

For instance, who is better between Carlos Tevez and Dimitar Berbatov? Now, who is still at Man U?
In my opinion, Tevez plays better than Berbatov in making sure that goals are scored, Tevez has a
major impact on the team's play and I like him becos of his neva-say-die attitude on the pitch
whenever he plays. With Tevez on the pitch, it is not over until the ref blows the whistle. But, the
coach prefers Berbatov to him!

If you ask the 2 coaches, each will tell u why his player is preferable to the other.

For me, Mikel of 2005 is much preferable and I would rate him better than the current Mikel + Song.
However, my preference between the 2 players is relative to my criteria and I would say I prefer Song
to Mikel now.

You may agree and you may not, it doesn't make anybody wiser!

@muggle,
i cld see where u are coming from and i expected u to land on time instead of turning like a trailer driver reversing his truck.
the last time i checked, good players are judged by their achievements.
tell me any good player that has nothing to show for it.
song according to nigerians is a great player but he is not been wanted by the big teams of europe, he is not winning trophies, he is not on big salary. pls nigerians, how do u rate ur players.
we all see how fabregas is been wanted by all clubs and because he is not winning things in arsenal, he wants to leave despite big salary.
where is the goodness of song if he is that good?
song is a good player no doubt but it is at the level of youth football which arsenal is known for.
do u see song breaking into a chelsea star studded midfield?
how many big coaches of this world will play song in their team apart from arsenal.
if u tell me that song will be a great player the way he is going about it, i will not argue that but if u tell me he has landed, i will recomend u to any mental rehab.
mikel as we speak is a great player talked about by great ppl not dark minded nigerians.
Family / Re: Sleeping Position On Bed Threatens Marriage! by chidichris(m): 9:13am On May 26, 2010
the man is the head of the house and assumes the protective position of the outside of the bed while the wife stays in  the comfort position of the inside but for the single and worthy reason of heat, as it relates to who sweats more, any loving husband will give up his position for the comforts of his wife.
it is a thing of pride. approach most times matters. the woman is a fool if she allows that to degenerate into someother issues because in the bedroom where two of them are always alone, the woman knows her ways.
she shld drop her weapon of mass destructions and make use of her humble self and natural powers and the man will give in to her demands. the problem here is the women most times want to use physicality which they don't have to get what the want.
someone suggests air conditioner, is there electricity in your side?
another way out will be if there is a possibility of changing the position of the bed.
if they want to be democratic, they can use the ballot box or share the positioning.
Family / Re: Should Micheal Essien (of Chelsea FC) Support His Father More? by chidichris(m): 8:45am On May 26, 2010
having read all three articles i am convinced that michael essien is in the wrong. my dad always would tell us that he should he judged as a father not based on what he did provide for us but on how much he could do that he did do. if you look at the story objectively, michael ought to do more for his father. i mean you say the man did not send him money bla bla bla, the fact of life is that there are poor people out there who simply dont have the money to do nice things for their children. there are people who simply cannot afford to set their children off in life. this man did the little he could. he got his son into school and he set him off in his football career. the boy was not living on the streets, he was living a reasonable life, according to the first article, above african poverty standards(whatever that is). perhaps the man did wrong by biting more than he could chew by marrying too many wives but this is something common to Africa's poor. a total lack of foresight and planning. you will observe that it is the poorest people that have the most kids. michael may God help you to do right. even if he does not consider it to be doing right by his father, let him consider it to be charity, he can send better than 25-50 pounds to his dad.

@kgdavid,
ur sense of reasoning has always been the problem. how can a man living on £3 a month be as useless as marrying 4 wives? men who suffer to train their children to any level enjoys the fruit of their labours might any of the children become useful in life.
living a poor woman to the hard job of traing 4 or more kids alone is wicked.
the man must learn to bear his cross without going piblic.
where were u when essien's mother was bearing her cross, crying day and night? if i have my ways, i will ask essien to marry more wives for his father and that will make life easier for him since he came to the world to marry.
how many wives does ur father have and how much is his income?
the only thing i see in u is pure hatred for chelsea so u will always reason from ur ass.

This is Unbelievable, Michael should not only be providing for his father, he should be providing for his brothers, every one that has anything to do with the family name irrespective of what has happened in the past because he has enough to take care of every one. I wish I could talk to Essien, He was not abandoned the way I was but that does not mean I would turn my back on my people because I am so rich I dont think I would ever need them. God forgive You Michael! Better go on Your knees now and begin to Beg for forgiveness because when the wrath of God comes upon You, you'd be begging to play for crystal palace but would not get the chance.

African are so wicked, how can a man be as wicked as this, I have a family member who is like this so it is not new to me, watch out when the man dies he would be buried with the most expensive coffin and under three weeks a mansion would be built for him.

@djunit1,
if u say unbelieveable, i will accept it but more unbelieveable here is that ppl will sow plantain and expect to reap paw-paw.
wickedness begets wickedness.
sound judgements are not based on one sided stories.
if the man is not guilty, the media can never be the best approach to this rift.
don't tell me the man is surprised with his situation when he married 4 wives while earning just £3 a month.
if the man has repented, he shld approach essien's mother and see her forgiveness and everyother thing shall be added unto him.

NOW guys u c my point, now DAT CAF has removed , will it be wise for TOGO to allow adebayo to come back, after he hastily made his decisions, remembering dis is his second tym of leaving his team

GOOD lEADERS HAVE GOOD JUDGEMENT and dnt make hasty decisions.

D guy never deserved to have been the captain

@femikay149,
pls are the togolese complaining? why do nigerians take panadol for other ppl's headache? why are we not trying to fix billions of problems facing us instead of thinking for other ppl? how many players in the world have retired and come back to play? today, babatov has retired from international football and that is the power of an individual right to decissions.
if adebayor decides to come back, togo will accept him and if he is rejected, he will continue his professional life so what differences does that make.
why are u talking about leaders when we know that is the worst thing that has ever happened to nigeria and nigerians or are u keen on solving the leadership problems of togo when ur house is on fire.
if caf could swallow their pride and reverse their decission, who is adebayor? i suggest you move on to another topic as u have nothing reasonable to offer here.
where are all those imbeciles making noise here? they have all disappeared because they know too well that they are finished with this new decission of caf.

pls, Can mikel score a goal?

@dipo2much,
mikel has scored 2 goals since he joined chelsea. how many did makalele score while in chelsea or has that made song better than makalele too?
the problem with most nigerians is that hardship and darkness has overtaken their senses of judgements.
u are low in life and no one is expect sound reasoning from u so go ahead and think like an ape that u are.
what are u doing for ur life to change? how many goals have u scored in whatever u are doing? how many legs do u have and how many does mikel have or are u a disable person?
do u know how many world class coaches not amodu that mikel has had the opportunity to work with? how many nigerian players have had such opportunity to work with super coaches like mikel?
wickedness and jealous has overtaken u as an individual and u cannot appreciate the goodness of our God in mikel, then tell me how u want to progress.
song is better than mikel and he has nothing to show for it is a whole year or are u expecting song to win the world cup? anyways till then.
mikel is been talked about on bbc, cnn, and any world media u can think of. but u, only on nairaland that u appear with unknown id and under the rock is ur location. do u know that there is power in our words. if u choose to be under the rock, tell me how u can be useful to anyone. come out from the rock first and u will begin to exist and ur sense of judgement can begin to improve otherwise, i will suggest u visit yaba mental rehablitation home.

like someone rightly said, there is no moving forward as long as our constitution has been abandoned for individual's judgement which we all know will be overtaken by sentiments.
in which other countries of the world are ppl gathering like we do here on nairaland to say; HE TRIED.
obj tried, ibb tried, abacha tried, ibori tried, and now RIBADU TRIED.
WHY IS THIS HE TRIED MADNESS " MORE COMMON THAN OUR CONSTITUTION?
nigeria as a country has a constitution and police as an institution has their own constitution. if ribadu has gone against the institution, the laws are there to be reffered to rather than a jonathan order. what is autocratic govt if not what jonathan and our past rulers will always do.
there is no political term or constitutional word like HE TRIED.
until the constitution of this land becomes supreme, we will not move forward.
all these while the country has been based on HE TRIED", how successful has it been?
it is high time our rulers refered to the constitution for their actions and rewards/punishments.

@bluetooth,
u are shortsighted. ibb was only a military president. we did not vote for him. he fought his way into govt. military is not recognised as a type of govt all over the world.
we are talking about someone who claimed to having our mandate to rule for 8 uninterupted years.
by the ways, if u think ibb is as corrupt as you mentioned here, why then did ur obasanjo not probe him while he was probing abacha and alams?
leadership by example is the guide.
what the govs, local govt chairmen and ward councellors are doing is what the learn from the presidency.
Politics / Re: Obj Is Bad Yes, But He's Still Nigeria's Best Ever President. No Contest by chidichris(m): 11:50pm On May 24, 2010
Its good that there are still some Nigerians that can reason well,

Obj had some shortcoming, but he did better than lots of others to the best of my knowledge, He was goal oriented (though he made some money for himself while working to achieve the goals), He may have committed lots of atrocity, but as a President, you can apply certain principle to get your goals (some may get hurt in the process), Its not possible for everyone to like Obj (even when you are not a figurehead, everyone in your environment can't like you), but it does not change the fact that his reforms/ policies impacted much in our economy,

For all critics, check economic indicators during Obj regime, and compare it to others, You can post your finding,

To the best of my knowledge, with the level of education he had, he remains the best.

@ime2010,
if these shortcomings of obj as u outlined here are real, why then are ppl like ibori and alams been chased up and down in the name of war against corruption or were u expecting both of them not to have shortcomings like their leader obj?
economic indicators u said, how did these economic indicators affect our dark country, our poor roads, security, hospitals and schools? how are the poor masses enjoying ur so-called economic indicators?
the reforms u mentioned above, are they part of the reforms that made u and i useless in choosing our leaders? those reforms might have helped in the killings of odi and the other community in benue state? oh, that reform that made our streets darker than ever?
it is obvious here that most of us are not even informed and do not know what they are fighting for.

whatever happens to our rights to vote and be voted for? do u know that ur vote is worth more than a million dollars? do u know that ur single vote can change this country.
do u know what it means denying u ur voting right? do u know that been denied of the right to vote or be voted for, someone is calling u a lunatic or ex-convict?
why did clinto give americans chance to choose bush and why did bush allow americans to choose the first african-american president or are u saying ur wise obasanjo is wiser than such great men or are nigerians more democratic than the americans.
do u know it was one of the most stupid things nigerians have done in dropping the constitution of the federal republic of nigeria for that of an indidual?
now that we followed ur wiseman, we are we 3 years on?
it does not matter who becomes the president, what is more important is the supremacy of our constitution as stipulated by the democratic rules and regulations.
mandela was a very charished man/president in south africa but he understood the meaning of change. clinton is believed to be among the best america has seen in presidents yet he did not ask or fought for third term or work to impose a candidate. stop supporting the evil that is destroying nigeria.
we are the only country in the world without electricity both the poor and the rich - why?
why are we praising an ape who had the opportunity to rule nigeria as a president and petrolium minister for uninterupted 8 yrs and could not give us the power he promised?
obj promised us steady power supply on two different occassions but never did upon all the funds he spoent on that, what name do u call such man? a liar, a deciet and a cheat.
