This is a murder case an the nanny knows something, very soon she would confess, she was either cought doing something which would put her in trouble and probably murdered the kids, reported missing by 10pm sums it up,how can three female under aged kids sneak out of the house yet on their way to a pond at night?kids are damn scared of the woods not to mention girls, let alone go swimming at night, for her to have called to report them missing she must have at least search for them for an hour, placing their time of disappearance to be around 7pm to 8:30pm in the evening. The bicycle there is all a plot,I'm damn sure she did it or someone she knew did since its close to the house, all these maybe that she could be having an affair with the mother's new boyfriend, I may be wrong buy kids don't just vanish at night.

The babysitter is definitely culpable one way or another. What exactly will she say she was doing when kids she was supposed to be watching wandered off? Such a sad story.

Go to Instagram and read her posts. Forget the issue of accent and ready her write ups. She is intellectually barren. Spelling and grammatical errors litter everywhere. Even her thought process leaves a lot to be desired.

Yes, and that is grammar which is a totally different issue from speaking with an accent, which is the topic of the thread. I actually know someone who speaks very well in English but is awful at writing in the same language. Errors everywhere. Many people have that problem, including some of those mocking her accent.

the Indians have English as their official language, but have you heard them speak?

India is too far sef. Just listen to Scottish, Welsh, Irish or even people from Liverpool.

They are all from countries where English is not their official language.
English is Nigeria's official language and Mercy speaks English like a vegetable hawker.

While you do have a point, English language is not the first language learnt by many Nigerians. Their local language is often the first. The accent therefore comes from trying to speak the English language with the rules and intonation of their local language.

Also, even many o the so called native English speakers in the United Kingdom have an accent depending on their location. Don't even get started with the Scottish or Welsh accent.

Ultimately, an accent is not a measure of intelligence or exposure. People should not be shamed for it.

If you have ever driven in what we refer to as "sane" countries, you will realize that at least 95% of drivers on Nigerian roads have serious mental issues.
Sorry my brother Williams, just see it as the quota you have to contribute towards the "sanity" you are enjoying. I have been fined once too, for a very silly wrong turn cheesy

Not just mental problems. Many actually don't know how to drive and are not even aware of their ignorance. And when you challenge them they think you are the odd one. Imagine someone overtaking you at a speed bump close to a primary school and glaring at you for slowing down.

VEHINTOLAR:
He doesn't look like someone who is hungry for success and more so,his credential is neither intimidating nor inspiring. Eagles need someone like that former coach of Zambia and Ivory coast,Herve Renard. One cannot but like that man's business like attitude, discipline and focus on and off the pitch. I may be wrong, but I don't sense any of these qualities in this Portuguese.

Herve Renard too did not have an impressive profile before coaching Zambia. And he won the AFCON with them on his second attempt. Most people don't know that. Even same with Westerhof. What was his profile before 1990?

Let's just hope this new guy does well. At least he has coached known teams in Europe including in the UEFA Champions League and Uefa cup.

In the end, results and style of play will determine his success or otherwise.

People would take this statement and twist it. It's obvious she's trying to say don't surround yourself with mediocrity. Move with people that will challenge you and not make you a local champion. It's either you're both equals or the person is above you.

If that was her message then she wouldn't make it all about money to the point that it's okay to be connected to the 15th wife of a rich man. Greatness is not all about money.

What on earth is a goal opportunist? As a United fan, I doubt that you watched Teddy Sheringham or Ruud Van Nistelrooy play. Some strikers are called poachers for a reason. It is a skill on its own.

Few of the midfielders have tried, their show of confidence and how they dribble past their opponent is worth clapping for. This is good exposure for the home based.

Flair without end-product is useless. That's why we always fumble when we meet a more tactical and technical team. We celebrate flair as talent, but there is more to modern football than that.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Can A 9am To 5pm Job Make Someone Become Wealthy In Nigeria Without Runs? by dabossman(m): 6:45pm On Jun 11, 2021

Can a Nigerian hard-worker get rich from a 9 to 5 monthly salary without involving in runs?
I don't mean politics where the politicians allawees are higher than their salary.
I mean genuine salary earners who don't engage in illegal activities to make extra income at their workplaces?

What do you consider to be wealthy? How much do you think you need to have to consider yourself wealthy? This is probably the first place to start. It can be a very subjective topic.

what are those advice you'll render to us in our Early or mid twenties...What are those mistakes or bad decisions that you'll never want us to make so as not to have regrets in life... I'm currently doing my ND2 in a state polytechnic with the thought of dropping at this level, I'm interested in leaning building construction.

You're advice and insults are welcomed

Enjoy your life. Learn useful skills, don't depend on just your book knowledge. Travel if you can afford it. Even if it is to African countries. Network and build relationships as you go along. Gain useful work experience even if the pay is not the best. Be ambitious but don't heap unnecessary pressure on yourself. You are not in competition with anyone. You are only young once. Enjoy it.

l agree on this one , a 3rd class graduate in public university can easily make 2.1 in private university,,
let be honest with ourselves most private school were exorbitant bills are paid do everything it takes to award good grades to students so as to maintain their customers!! l have taught in a lot of this private schools and l must tell u DAT is not funny!! that reminds me of chima a law graduate from Babcock university who can not differentiate between executive and judicial system of government!!

That's because the private university lecturers will not frustrate you unnecessarily just to prove a moot point. it's the same reason many of our graduates who go abroad tend to do well. Education shouldn't be unnecessarily stressful, but lecturers in public universities prefer to take pride in the fact that you can't pass their course. Not to add that some of them don't even bother to do their jobs.

So I'm posted to Benue but I know nothing about the government hospitals in town (Makurdi). I'm a Medical Laboratory Scientist which means it's important I get a PPA with a good laboratory system.

Even if you know nothing about the nature of the place, just list hospitals in Makurdi that take corps members and I'll find out more about it. Thanks.

Served in Makurdi in 2003. I would say the Federal Medical Centre or NAF Base hospital if you are looking at government hospitals. Don't know much about their laboratory systems though. And then, you could get posted out of Makurdi, so maybe wait till you are posted and hope for the best. Goodluck.

After reading most comments here, it is obvious that most people don't read or they don't read with understanding. But I blame the writer of this article because he obviously set out to sensationalize this write up.

It is obvious the man is referring to the pirated foreign movies that are sold in Nigeria. He even mentioned intellectual property rights and said foreign films shown in cinemas were acceptable having been properly rated.

If you want to download online, that's up to you and your ISP, if your VPN is not top-notch. If he goofed at all, it may be with the DSTV bit.

Of course, I know.

That still doesn't negate my point, does it?

My point being that Nigerian politicians aren't matured enough for Democracy and INEC isn't prepared for democracy either if elections are always going to end up being adjudicated in courts.

You're very correct. Your earlier comment seemed to blame the Supreme Court. I guess I misinterpreted it.

So in Nigeria it is the Supreme court that determines who the winner of an election is, not the electorate.

Democracy is not for countries like Nigeria.

The Supreme Court did not bring the case to court by itself did it? Election results were contested and brought before the court as is the right of the petitioners.
Politics / Re: Anthony Okolie Sues Hanan Buhari, DSS, Over SIM Card, Demands N500 Million by dabossman(m): 10:51am On Jan 14, 2020
new2012:

OK, here's the thing.. The registration was forced by NCC under strict timelines and done in haste by several others to avoid fine.. Some were done by roadside guys that didn't get uploaded.. Long and short, the data was seriously dirty, some had entire database corrupt. Which necessitated request for red registrations..

There were instances that NCC inspect the data and discarded it for multiple reasons such as improper data capture, unclear image etc. When that happen, registration had to done again.

But the case here, the sim was abandoned and the dormancy made the telco Reprovision it.

Okay, fair enough. However, a lot of mass enlightenment needs to be done in this regard; even for the security personnel. Period of dormancy before a number can be issued to a new user and what happens to the data of the previous user. Otherwise, someday, someone somewhere will commit a crime with a certain number, disposes it and several months later someone else gets arrested once the number becomes active again after being reissued to a new user. I doubt if our policemen will bother to cross-check the history of the said number before picking up an innocent person and asking him to produce the owner of the number. It's a jungle out here.

Which is why this case is a good precedent, though Mr. Okolie had to suffer unnecessarily.

Stop spewing this ignorance in public.

Don't buy sim preregistered means, don't buy a sim and start using it without registration. In this case someone registers a sim and sell it to you.

In the case in question, the sim is dormant.. The telco reprovisioned it and sold. The new user registered it afresh.. Its not a preregistered sim. Its a fresh registration but sim was once used by someone else.

You do know that you can make your point without being cocky. Nobody is a reservoir of all knowledge. If someone buys a sim and registers it before selling to me, whose biometric data is then stored against the number with the telco?

I'm not interested in the politics of this matter, but as an individual who has been using the same number since 2001, yet had to register it 3 different times, I'm worried about how well telcos manage my biometric data.

Considering the fact that most people receive bank alerts on their registered numbers, would the new user start receiving these alerts too. Maybe even receive OTP's too?

Obviously this information is not as clear cut as you make it sound.
