Politics / Re: Cleric Asks Jonathan To Sign Anti-gay Bill Into Law by debbyblaze: 10:28am On Jul 09, 2013
cold: The sexuality of Jesus Christ is queried.

Was Jesus queer? We don't know. But it is a possibility that cannot be ruled out. One version of St. Mark's gospel - which is still the subject of academic dispute - alludes to Jesus having a homosexual relationship with a youth he raised from the dead.According to the US Biblical scholar, Morton Smith, of Columbia University, a fragment of manuscript he found at the Mar Saba monastery near Jerusalem in 1958, showed that the full text of St. Mark chapter 10 (between verses 34 and 35 in the standard version of the Bible) includes the passage:"And the youth, looking upon him (Jesus), loved him and beseeched that he might remain with him. And going out of the tomb, they went into the house of the youth, for he was rich. And after six days, Jesus instructed him and, at evening, the youth came to him wearing a linen cloth over his nak3d body. And he remained with him that night, for Jesus taught him the mystery of the Kingdom of God" grin. The veracity of this manuscript is hotly contested by other Biblical scholars. This comes as no surprise. The revelation of a gay Jesus would undermine some of the most fundamental tenets of orthodox Christianity, including its rampant homophobia. But even if the text is genuine, does this ambiguous, elliptical passage offer evidence of Jesus's homosexuality? It is hard to say. The precise nature of the relationship between Christ and the youth is not spelled out. Sexual relations are suggested but not explicitly stated. The Morton Smith document is, in fact, irrelevant to the vexed issue of Christ's sexual orientation. What we can say for certain is that the standard, accepted Biblical narrative gives us no information at all about Jesus's sexuality. This absence of firm information does not, of course, mean that we can take it for granted that Christ was heterosexual. Far from it! The lack of information about his erotic inclinations begs more questions than it answers. The truth is that we simply don't know whether Jesus was straight, gay, bisexual or celibate. There is certainly no evidence for the Church's unspoken presumption that he was either heterosexual or devoid of carnal desires. Since nothing in the Bible points to Christ having erotic feelings for women, or relationships with the female sex, the possibility of him being gay cannot be discounted. In the absence of any evidence - let alone proof - that Jesus was heterosexual, the theological basis of Church homophobia is all the more shaky and indefensible. How can established religion dare denounce homosexuality when the founder of its faith was himself a man of mysterious, unknown sexuality who could, for all we know, have been homosexual? The Bible tells us that Jesus was born a man and therefore presumably had male sexual feelings. It would have been more or less impossible, biologically, for him not to have an element of erotic arousal - even if only having the normal male response of waking with an er3ction

Hmmm may God forgive you for this blasphemy.... cry cry cry

safarigirl: Orikinla you sound ignorant, da.ft to the extreme. How can you compare Genevieve to Charlize Theron? A woman who has been in Hollywood for years, a WHITE woman, how many BLACK south africans are known in Hollywood? How many blacks are IN hollywood? And you balance on your couch and beef someone more famous than your entire generation can ever be. Bia, mind yourself o. How many WHITE SOUTH AFRICANS ACTING IN S.A ARE FAMOUS IN AFRICA TALK LESS AMERICA? Get your facts right before you publicize your ignorance. Mtcheeww, Playa Hater.

YOU ARE SO IGNORANT Have you heard of THANDIE NEWTON Mission Impossible 2 she Co Starred with Tom cruise please research b4 u run your mouth!!!!
Celebrities / Re: No American Will Notice Genevieve Nnaji On Hollywood Boulevard by debbyblaze: 1:15pm On May 28, 2013
Orikinla: . Yes. No American will notice her as a famous actress from Africa. But they will notice Charlize Theron of South Africa. The point is until we can make world class movies, our actors will not even turn heads at the Cannes  or Hollywood. So, they should stop making noise in Africa until Genevieve Nnaji and company can be invited and recognized at the Oscars and not going round and round the red carpet of Silverbird Galleria and AMAA. South Africa does not produce truckload of home videos, but the country has more cinemas than Nigeria, made world class movies and won Oscars. So, let us stop making all the noise over our Nollywood stars who cannot even pass casting auditions from Broadway to Hollywood. To the ignorant person talking about "bad belle", I appreciate Genevieve Nnaji more than majority of her fans who cannot do more than making noise on free for all online forums hiding behind usernames. Moreover, most of the fans buy pirated videos or view those pirated online. So, ignorant posters should just SHUT UP!

My dear please tell this ignorant people....celebrating mediocrity has been our greatest misharp!!!!

Honnestly i have lived all my life in the north even though i am a southerner and truthfully without prejudice to the northerners... your Leaders are the reasons why you are this backwards. Furthermore ISLAM religion is just an opium used by the AREWA leaders to twist the minds of the people....Northerners on this thread before you go on an on about hw wrong jonathan is by declaring the SOE (Which in my opinion he should have done since) think about what BH has done to your states, Kaduna and Kano in the 80's were commercial cities, business blossomed well and that brought internal revenue to your states, but now both foreign and local investors are scared of going anywhere close to these states because of the randonm and unjustified killing, this has brought more hardship on your ppl, poverty is becoming part of your mainstay and in the nearest future your states will be completely dependent on govt which myt not be so favourable again because these days the southerners have woken upp from thier slumber, and are interested in politics, the North will soon STOP rulling Nigeria, beacause southerners have decided to participate in govt too, also because of the ruthless and Vicious killings of the Middlebelters it is now obvious that they dont want to be part of the Core north so before you run your mouths like these worthless politicians who use ethnic/religious bias to create divisions look at the merits and demerrits of your arguements, What does the common northern youth gain from all these? if you think this way your opinions will change
