Good evening all,

Please what do you advice. Currently in the UK but my family is in nigeria ( my wife and 2 kids)

I intend to bring them over soonest but I. Concern as my wife is just an OND holder in business administration., But currently a tailor.

What work can she do to support if they come. Since I can't settle the bills alone.

Please I need advice.. @justwise and all

Since you are already in the country you will know most flexible job etc retail, healthcare support etc require no degree and just some training to get going.

Depending on where you're based she can continue her tailoring if in a big city.

You will have to plan around childcare

Travel / Re: Traveling Out Without Nigerian Passport by DisGuy: 11:43pm On Oct 17, 2021
I've read about the hassle Nigerian immigration give people without their Nigerian passport or visa to show entry, apparently some have been able to avoid the hassle by showing proof they are in the process of renewing their passport- paper works, officer on speed dial etc etc

its a big mess, backlogs everywhere, passport expired April this year and cant face the hassle of the High Commision here especially with all the stories and procedures changing weekly

There's no harm in shooting your shot...

I checked my naira account annual statement yesterday to see how much the country is bleeding me (need to save massively for our yankee house buying expenses)...

Just sticking to 'close' family and some friends has set me back almost 5m naira in 2021 alone, cry
That's an average of $1k monthly, I do NOT intend to keep that growing fatter.

Minus electronics purchased and sent, minus wire transfers, minus western union, minus other transactions that do not appear on the naira account. cry

Most immigrants from all over the world cannot escape this expense as long as their countries are being run by shit head leaders like those in Nigeria. undecided
I remember someone wrote on this thread in 2017 - "leave the leaders alone" and focus on your life. How I go leave them when their stupidity in leadership is costing me $20k+ annually. angry I no get better thing to take money do??

Very vivid summary of why some abroad perhaps can't build wealth as soon as they want or in some cases at all!!!

Broo!!!!

Thinking aloud:
I too like book cheesy
Currently preparing for a certification, my company pays up to $5,000 each year for educational expenses and my manager has advised from Day 1 that I take advantage of it.

Problem:
I don't allow people to know when I am preparing for certifications or exams. Pressure deh deh higher.
How do I collect their money to write this exam and then not be pressured into passing?
Anyway, I need use their money wink

If na my money, pass or fail - I no send. cheesy

Na to stylishly ask if they will reimburse any staff that embarks on a relevant course.

True true you like book and be like say yankee employers like certificates well well

So I just refill the 3kg for 1950# in my area and before I even cook anything they’ve started using it and it annoyed me and I released the gas to the to empty cylinder when she gone out to her work.

Not wicked but a bit stupid. You want to kill yourself?

You could have just boiled water till it runs out. Have a chat with the husband, tell him you don't get to cook before the gas runs out. Buy food from the restaurant till they refill

We just need the state to step up and do the roads.

incredible how these governors dont plan thing to fall in place at the right time, almost as if they were not aware of the pending conclusion of the project.
I've been watching several videos of Moniya, seems the road is only recently getting the upgrade it needed .

Interesting, please note this is not the official government scheme and the interest rates are exorbitant.

But let us know how you get on with them if you decide to apply.

Good Morning,

Which of these Educational Masters are good and in demand especially if one is considering to stay after study?

1. Leadership and Management
2. Teaching and Learning
3. Special Education and Inclusion
4. Psychology

My Spouse has a degree in Economics Education and she wants to pick a "lucrative" educational masters.

Which other courses do you recommend?

Lastly, any ideas about Northumbria University? How is life in the place?

Please help a brother out everyone.

I'm about to make a choice between UEA Norwich and Northumbria University Newcastle. Please which of this is better in terms of payment plans and students job.
I'm just waiting for my POF to mature, then choose which of them to pay the deposit and submit my POF to.
I need your help and experience since you guys are there already. Thanks

Most of these school have similar payment plans tbh best to look online for cost of living and economy of both cities. Most people won't be able to tell you first hand information about two university towns.
Your decision will depend on the school's specialities especially with regards to the course you're interested in.
