Computers / Etisalat Internet - Blazing Fast Internet by dkings101(m): 11:50pm On May 11, 2012
After much scolding, fighting, insult, rude and hyper with Starcomms & Visafone, I came to meet the Messiah of fast blazing internet speed which is ETISALAT. I am not being paid for this post but I am jst sharing my testimony. The Internet is just too fast that I get scared. Just a click and the page is up. I have browse on 5G internet platform while abroad and I can compare Etisalat to such speed.

If you are located in Ogun, Ijebu, Ibadan I would advice you to go to Etisalat (only if you see 3G on ur handphone, means you would get a fast browsing). I don't know the speed of GPRS but it is very fast. I don't think I would ever wink on any other telco stupid modem for now cos am satisfied with my surfing speed.

Etisalat ooo...una biko.

Phones / Airtel 3.75G Or Visafone For Internet Surfing Via Laptop by dkings101(m): 10:51pm On Apr 16, 2012
Am fed up and tired with Starcomms rubbish every day. It is either, not connecting, slow browsing, no data send nor receive and above all no compensation. I am thinking of a new internet surfing plan with either Airtel or Visafone. What do you advice. Anyone on this surfing plan should please advice me or discourage me cos I don't want to jump from frying pan to fire.
Phones / Re: How Is Starcoms Izap Doing In Your Area?good, Bad Or Worst? by dkings101(m): 10:34pm On Apr 16, 2012
The service is very very very bad. Omg. I tot I am the only 1 experiencing this bad service. JeZ. I have called, scolded, talked rude to them but all they can say is "we are sorry, we understand hw you feel". Do they really understand hw i feel? I guess not. Subscribed for 100hrs and I can tell hw much time i enjoyed and the rest just wasted. I have called and seek for compensation and each time i call to know the status of the compensation, is either they r waiting for approval from the oga or something else. In short am tired of calling them to complain. One thing I learnt abt this telco ppl is 'if my service suck, please go next door'. Really I must tell U. I am dropping starcomms and maybe try Visafone. Starcoms is so bleeped up. Scraws like a snail and had to connect. Even wen you are connected, Sending would be 0.0KBp and Receiving would be 0.0Kbp. It has gotten to an extent that i have a phobia whenever I want to click connect cos I know it would browse and I would become hyping knowing my time is running up.

chagga: Thanks bro that was really helpful

You are welcome. The Asheitu Adam's Bitter and Asheitu Energy vitality sometimes can be hard to come by. You don't see it in pharmacy (reason unknown). You only get to see Yoyo and Swedish bitters. But if you come by this Asheitu, it really work. You would experience your manliness again. Where I buy it is around Ikotun, Lagos (You see ppl hawking it on crates) or you can see them hawking it in traffic jam around Lagos Island. Try VeinErect and adam's desire. Have you tried taken Alomo Bitters (Original) mixed with Climax energy drink or power horse. It can also boost your manliness.

It's hard to relax yourself, thinking "Yes, I can perform" cos the anxiety also would not make you stand. Just relax bro. Take this herb and the only way to gain back your sexual confidence is if you notice strong erection in the middle of the nite or before morning (after taking the herb as prescribed) just make love with ur wify. That way u can gain ur confidence again.

Romance / Re: Why Are Most Nigerian Girls So Obsessed With Already Made Men And....? by dkings101(m): 8:46am On Apr 13, 2012
2sexy: My second girlfriend just told me to get a good job and come back for her. Hey, I am still in school and will be graduating this year by God's grace.

I laugh when I see girls throw away opportunity away without realising it but sooner than later, some will say they are desperate to get married because of the age factor.

Another thing is that they often want to know my plans, but it is not is not my style to discuss future plans with my girlfriend. If she cant see with her eyes or be patient enough to support me, that is her problem.

I remember a few years back when one left me in search for already made man and luckily she found a working class guy, gave her vriginity to the guy, but today already made man don waka.

This girl in question has not even taken the time to really get to know me or what I am capable of doing, she just told me that she is not ready for a relationship and that she does not want to spend years in dating and that if she would date, it is one that will lead to marriage. She said the date would last for a year and some months and eventaully lead to marriage-- Alice in Wonder Land!

A typical case of wanting to reap without sowing. . ..
More to come!

I also feel the same. Most girl want you to them about your plan for them and about ur own plans for the future and even wanna dig deep know your family, extended family and financial background....making sure they r in the right place bt as for me, I don't feel comfy divulging all info abt me cos I don't want a girl to love me for physical and financial reason. At some point, I feel like lieing or deceiving them in other to come in btw there legs bt it's not my kind of person.

OP...don't mind such babes...they end up regretting. Looking for made men whereas they weren't there wen they made the money. Such men don't stick to one woman. If a babe is not patient enuf to knw me, then she is missing cos I don't want a babe to marry me cos I have a hse, car, investment or lot of $$ but for true love.

I did try the adam's desire but no effect. OP I would advice you do as I as said. Try using those herb at least it would do you no arm at all. Each is sold for N500 or N450. It is Ghana herb and more active than our own YoYo Bitters. Try it and see..

As for the supplement, it contains L-argnine and Maca. L-arginine is a supplement that help in the circulation of blood to the penile region and Maca is a south america herb that also aid in strong erection as well.

chagga: Have been married for a about 5 months now and have been finding it hard to make love to my wife cause the urge is not even there. Before we got married , the reverse has been the case . I have been really sexually active even with my wife. I just dont know what's happening to me its ruining my marriage and something needs to be done fast

I understand how you feel man. Sometimes also I feel the same when am depressed. My sexual status becomes inactive. No impulse at all. Sometime, It makes me mad and unmanly and that feel also diminish ur chance of making ur joysticks erect. To gather up that confidence again, I would advice you to take some herbal medication. It is a ghanian bitters called Asheitu Adams bitter and Asheitu Energy Vitality. It would remove all obstacle around ur waist hehehe jedi jedi I mean and some other things sha. U would experience strong and hard erect in the morning. So wen u do, you can ML with ur wife. This wuld burst your confidence. You can also buy this supplement call VeinErect. You can get it from any pharmacy. It would also help. All these I mention to you is what I take every day to vitalise me and keep me update cos I hate the feeling for not able to perform.

Who is the new owner and whats the name of the share abbrv on NSE? So nothing happen to my AP share. Am I still entitled to the small div dey share??

cashmentor: unless u're very sure of the market (stock), unless u've done your home work pretty well, unless u have insider or profesional advice; Never Put ALL your eggs in ONE basket! Atleast, u're not Buffet nauw.... The Key is to diversify into 4 or More Sectors. e.g. Oil, Banking, Agriculture, Food and Beverages, Manufacturing etc.... That's what a novice is adviced to do, like in your Case....you could have made a killing, infact, u did made a killing (unknown to you) when AP skyrocketed i think close to or above N100....
Here's what you should do
1: Contact a Broker for advice, Open a CSCS a/c by buying atleast 1 stock, depends on the broker, some may tell you N20k to N50k minimum.
Find out if your stock is still valid, by contacting the Registra (your Broker can help you with that) ask about your certificate, then you and your broker can move on from there....the point is to make sure you get a CSCS A/C, then start monitoring ur stocks and buy and sell anytime u want!

It was a diversified investment in Honeywell, AP, Afribank, Zenith Mutual and Income Fund, Skype Bank, Transcorp (I ve never receive 1kobo div from them since I bought the offer and it is still selling for 0.50k). What is even happening to Transcorp. I think the were in for scam. Anyway, thanks for the advice.

Akpan107: True talk! Am so scared and tired of this so called stock issues, i lost so much in investing in that nonsence they call ''shares'', i bought Zenith Bank shares at the rate of N39 per unit, is now 12, U.B.A N29, is now N2.60 kobo, Dangote Sugar N19, is now around N4, FNB 28, now 10 or 11 Naira. I used about 80 per cent of my life savings to invest in it then. I thank God, He is helping me to recover financially without the shares... Is quite disturbing.

I also feel your pain. Am in it 2. My investment was N1.4m and now value more or less N300-350k, so calc the margin. Am also recovering without the shares and even if am in dear need of finance like now, I am discourage of selling the stock wenever I think hw much I am losing. So did u sold ur remaining stocks?

cashmentor: did you realy spend that much on 1 Stock/Share without a Broker or an advice from any One into stock trading?

Yes I did. Like I said earlier, I said I was investing for the future. U know when there is IPO, ppl go to the banks and buy and I tot tats the normal norms. I admit my bad and negligence. Anyway am in the shit now so no point biting my flesh to feel the pain more.

So like I asked you, what can a broker do for more now. Do I need to pay them to manage my remain coins? If Yes, like how much? Ur advice would be appreciated.

cashmentor: Five years time? Yeah, thats if there Might still be a Country called Nigeria? Let's just hope so...buh, personally, good or bad, i'd rather offload all my stocks, then look-out for Some Land in "a not too developed community" then sell 'em in "2 - 5 years" from now, think thats more wiser and Promising my friend!

N1.4m now value or if up 2 N300k. I would rather wait for the price to appreciate a lil bit and sell them off. At least, my going home pay would be more than half a million naira at least.

Please enlighten me the pro and cons of a broker, Benefits and demerit as well cos for now, I am a lone ranger. I monitor the price online and if I feel it is green light for me to sell the stock, that when I think is appropriate to approach a broker. Am i on the wrong lane?? Please put me on track.

Its still very much valid but have you placed it with your stockbroker for quoting on the CSCS its better and easy infact its almost a necessity for you to see anything in the stock market or play in the market

Like I told you, I don't have a stockbroker...I just monitor the price and performance of the companies online. What are the needs and benefits of a broker? Please advice. Do I pay them or what are their good to me and also their functions.

cashmentor: I share and feel your Pain bro! Buh most of the comments here seems to have given me a measure of hope...to see that people still make millions even while others are grumbling and regretting, like me.... It'll take a miracle for anyone to gather wat ever has been lost in the NSE.... Just forget about your share going up for now, and if u have the xtral cash to spend, buy some recommended stocks to get back your loses in a short term! Might try that out myself....

I just calculate the ETI share I bought for $0.29 which is N34 and it now value for N11. My total lost for the IPO is net N267k. Can you imagine?? It hurt but I hope in 5-8 yrs time the price we recuperate at least I can be sure of my children education with it or a business venture. Wat do u think?? As of investing in other lower share, I don't think I can invest again in share. I rather build a face-me-i-face-u apartment and collect rentals every month than gambling my money. I never foresaw this loss but I hope in 5yrs time it would be promising.

They are still in the market, yes they are now rebranded and I must say you are still fortunate to have some small investment because the directors are mopping up all units available in the market, and are now fountain oil or is funtain oil not to sure of the spelling, you want my advise buy as an institutional investor forget buying small scale in them you want immediate profits, get a broker immediately, follow market indices it might cost you, something small but if you are investing 20k and a broker or a financial advisor, is charging 10% its better then throwing away the 20k just my point of view

Since they rebranded, am I to get new share certificate or the former is still valid for any claim?? Do I contact their registrar for more info? Wat do u suggest??

how did you buy the shares, if you bought them through stockbrokers perhaps you need to start getting in touch with them, i think AP was rebranded or merged or bought over

Walk in to their banks myself. I never used any share broker. Do I need to contact AP Registrar for more information about there share??

I admit my bad being a novice in the market. Still younger and wanted to invest my money for the future, I just buy share without any proper research. I must confess, I lost lot of money. Worried but not hypertensive. Bought the AP Share for 250 and the crashed like I don't know. Noticed AP is not listed in the NSE any more. Did they rebrand? Wen I search for their website on google, I saw Forteoil Plc. Is this there new name?

I invested close to N1.4 Million in different share. Afribank foregone, Intercontinental as well. Wat I have left I dont want to calculate it cos I might get Hyper hehehehehe. Anyway just waiting for the share left to perform well so I can sell them and if at all I would lose out, it would just be a few thousands of Naira.

Am back now and I noticed dividend was paid but I never received any also. How do I go about claiming the certificate?? Who am I to contact? Is it the Lead Issuing House or the bank where I bought the IPO? Would they still have record of the transaction. I need an advice thanks.

These telecom guys are insulting our intelligentia, most especially etisalat. They are not only here to make money but also to provide QOS,

If they cant, then let them leave!, etisalat especially again!., nonsense people.

Where is the customer protection board or body to deal with useless people...

I also want this thread up as long as it can so if the management of these stupid enterprise sees it...they can redress their bleeping ass. Seriously, there should be a body to address these extortionist. No where to complain and fight for our right. We are just being exploited each and every day. Network would go off, calls keep dropping while we keep on paying for the service. This is not hw a privately owned business should be run. Even Etisalat can't offer this kind of service in emirate. Stupid Arabo them.

gbogboti: In fact, OP, u have said it all. For one whole week, etisalat couldn't resolve my complaint. It was so annoying. They have the worst customer service amongst all the networks. Their 200 is a complete rubbish. I have mailed them severally to learn customer services support from the Y'ello network. Abeg, etisalat is complete nonsense. For BIS I will not even ask my enemy to try etisalat or glo. I tried using glo once, omo, I nearly cry. Etisalat is only good for DATA BUNDLE BROWSING. Even at that, if mistakenly enter a different data bundle plan as against the one you intended, u are finished cos' they won't opt you out of that. It happened to me once. What I did was to get another of their SIM. CUSTOMER SERVICE in Nigeria is rubbish. Try calling DSTV to reconnect you after payment "you go know how far". They will be using your credit to tell you about cashless Nigeria, mobile money etc. You can imagine? The guy who picked my last reconnection call will never forget me in a hurry. After wasting my money on advertising how to go about DSTV payment under a cashless Nigeria policy and mobile money nonsense, the guy wanted to ask me my name, email address, etc. "I told him to shut up and reconnect me" after telling him my SMART CARD NUMBER. I told him that they can't do all that nonsense in SA. Nigerians can endure sha.

Got me laffing at ur post. Am facing another day with the same problem. Calling customer service now and spending 30min waiting. My BIS is my business so imagine all this network interruption and how much it is costing me. I don't know what else to do.
Phones / Airtel & Etisalat Blackberry Edge Problem & Customer Service Experience by dkings101(m): 4:55pm On Apr 01, 2012
Since I came into the country, I have used Airtel and Etisalat BB Plan and I must confess I am so displeased with the service. Omg, even their customer rep sucks. All they know to say best is "I understand how you feel, we are doing everything possible to resolve the issue". I don't know if they even understand how their customers feel. Imagine paying for Monthly plan and daily you end up using the BB service for 10 hours outta 24hrs...is is value for money? Some more they don't even have compensation plan or policy.

It is only in Nigeria consumers and it's people are taken for granted. No compensation policy...just suffering and smiling. Starcomms Internet Service as is as poor as a crawling snail but I commend them for their compensation policy. I am tired to changing sim and network. Despite the fact I don't like MTN, their BB service is good (as seen from my friend BB) and their customer service relation is top notch. They notify you how long you are to wait, so it is up to you to stick on or hang up but Etisalat and Airtel, they would make you wait forever.

When it comes to customer service experience with Airtel and Etisalat, OMG...It sucks...sometimes I feel like I wish I could get through to them from the phone and give them some punches. The endless waiting period is not only annoying but suicidal. Imagine waiting up to 30 min for your call to be picked up (With Airtel) and even wen your call is picked up, they talk to you in a fighting tune or as if you are quarrelling with them without evening resolving the problem you called for. As for Etisalat, that one makes me mad. Is either you call their contact reach which is 200. They ask you to press 8 to speak to a call rep, you press the number 8 and the call goes off. Even when you get through, you end up waiting for long and after they pick, is either they can't hear you or the call drops itself, Sometimes also they don't even know how to resolve issue. The best thing they can say to you is "Have you done the hard reset, please remove your battery after 5 min and replace it". Even with that the problem still persist or is it their Regular system maintenace and they can't pull out your record? So frustrating counting a few. At the end of the day, you rather solve the problem yourself or remove the sim card and flush it in the toilet.

I am so angry with these telco network. I don't know where to vent my anger. What is the NCC doing about this? During the emergence of GSM network, they use to call all telco heads to a TV program on channels and NTA where ppl complain to them about their network and other issues and they get it resolve, why is it not done anymore? Where can consumer complain for all these bad service being render by these telco. Am I the only one facing the problem or I have other nairalanders that also face the same. What can be done about this??

Politics / Jonathan Okays Test-run Of New Police Uniform by dkings101(m): 7:56am On Mar 14, 2012
In its determination to curb the menace of hoodlums and undesirable members of the society sewing and using fake police uniforms to perpetrate robbery and other societal crimes in the country, the Nigeria Police Force, yesterday, commenced the test run of a new Police operational uniform (Police camouflage) for its officers and men.

The test-run of the new camouflage, which has got the approval of President Goodluck Jonathan, is also expected to boost the image of Police officers as well as discourage them from developing cold feet any time they came face to face with robbers.

A statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, Deputy Commissioner of Police Olusola Amore, said: “The IGP, Mohammed Dahiru Abubakar has said his appearance in the new police camouflage is a process of test running the uniform as one of the Force’s operational outfits.

“President Goodluck Jonathan has approved a test-run of a camouflage dress for the Nigeria Police Force as one of its operational attires.

“The IGP stated that the new dress is in line with the transformation agenda of the Federal Government and the long desire of the Police management team to reform and to launder an acceptable image for the police through the turn-out of its officers and men.

“The camouflage which is an admixture of black, white and ash colours, will serve as an operational dress for the police with some inherent advantages when fully integrated and confirmed as one of the official police outfits.

“The advantages of the new police camouflage include cost effectiveness to maintain; operationally durable; highly customized with security features to forestall impersonation and environmentally friendly.

“The Police boss is using this medium to call on the general public to come up with constructive criticisms regarding the new police camouflage, so that public opinion will be given adequate consideration.”
