Abia is internal affairs like wise Sheriff and Markafi are both internal affairs also, how does APC get involved ? Did APC tell Ogar to sue Ikpeazu ? So my brother leave APC and Abang out of this matter, i believe he deliver his ruling based on evidence presented to him. The last time i checked their is room for appeal up till Supreme Court

Okon Abang the Oron man...a zone whose ambition to produce the governor of akwaibom made them move politically to APC....that judge is paying out a script. The judiciary council should take action to save the judiciary
Nigeria is in great danger with this type of comment, if the ruling favour you will claim the judge are sincere but if it goes other way you will claim the judge are reading out script. If any one is not favour with Abang ruling he/she have the right to appeal.

Business / Flashback: Ex Skye Bank Chairman Donate N2 Billion To PDP In 2014 by dridowu: 2:49pm On Jul 05, 2016
Despite being unable to pay civil servants in some of their states, the 21 governors of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Saturday night donated N1.05 billion to their party ahead of the 2015 elections.
The governor’s donation was part of the N21.2 billion raised by the party at its fund raising dinner held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Punch Newspapers quotes Isa Yuguda, the Bauchi State governor, as saying each of the PDP governors donated N50 million to arrive at N1.05 billion. In several states, including PDP-controlled states like Benue and Akwa Ibom, thousands of civil servants have not been paid salaries; sometimes for up to four months. Mr. Yuguda did not comment on why the governors felt more obliged to donate funds to the party when workers were yet to be paid.

Apart from the governors, other major donors at the dinner include Tunde Ayeni, the chairman of Skye Bank, who PREMIUM TIMES had reported recently as leading a consortium to purchase the former national carrier, NITEL, and its mobile subsidiary, MTEL. Mr. Ayeni, who was chairman of the occasion, donated N2 billion. He announced that he was donating N1 billion on behalf of himself and his partner and another billion on behalf of his friends.
Also at the event, a former Information Minister, Jerry Gana, announced a donation of N5 billion on behalf of his friends and associates in the power sector.
Other major donors as reported by Punch Newspapers include players in the Oil and Gas sector – N5 billion; players in Real Estate and Building – N4 billion; Transport and Aviation – N 1billion; Food and Agriculture – N500 million; Power – N500 million; Construction – N310 million; Road Construction – N250 million; National Automative Association – N450 million; Shelter Development Limited – N250 million; and SIFAX group – N100 million.
However, the chief fund raiser, Aliko Dangote, did not make any donation as his representative at the event, Joseph Makoju, announced he had no mandate to make one. He said Mr. Dangote would contact the PDP leadership about his donation once he arrives in the country.
At the event, the PDP National Chairman, Adamu Mu’azu, announced that the money would be used to complete the party’s headquarters in Abuja and also run its affairs.
Mr. Mu’azu and President Goodluck Jonathan appealed to members who lost various primaries not to leave the PDP but work with the winners for the 2015 elections.
“If out of anger or frustration, you leave the party because you didn’t get what you wanted, then you are not contributing to the growth of democracy,” Mr. Jonathan said.

Politics / Malami Speaks On Abia Governorship, Asks Parties To Await Decision Of Courts by dridowu: 5:52pm On Jul 03, 2016
*Says FG did not instruct INEC to issue Certificate of Return to Ogah

The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister for Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, has distanced himself from the legal crisis rocking Abia State, saying that he is yet to issue any legal opinion on the matter.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Salihu Isah, the AGF said that none of the parties had sought his opinion on the tussle.
The minister said that neither him nor the Federal Government instructed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to issue a certificate of return to Dr‎ Udechukwu Ogah.
However, the minister advised all the parties to await the decision of courts. He however did not say which courts decision. Nevertheless, since an appeal is pending on the judgment of the Federal High Court which removed Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, it is reasonable to conclude that the AGF would want the parties to await the decisions of the appellate court.
‎The statement reads: “The attention of the Office of the Honourable Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice has been drawn to the insinuations and crass lies being peddled and disseminated by a cross-section of Nigerians and the various media platforms that the Honourable Attorney General of the Federation is behind the legal logjam over the Abia state governorship seat and wish to clarify that those canvassing this position have no basis to do so.
“Of particular concern are (sic) those who have peddled ill-natured rumours with a view to misinform our discerning populace that the Honourable Attorney General of the Federation and by extension, the Federal Government of Nigeria that gave directives to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to issue Certificate of Return to Dr. Uchechukwu Ogah declaring him Governor-Elect. He has definitely not taken any action either by spoken words or body language as far as this Abia governorship crisis is concerned.
“I wish to therefore, on behalf of my principal declare that these rumours are untrue and a figment of the imagination of those pushing these selfish, shameless and irredeemable lies into public space which only translates to partisanship on the side of its purveyors.
“As far as the Honourable Attorney General of the Federation is concerned, the constitutional powers for the legal opinion of his office have not been invoked on this issue. So far, nobody has approached him to proffer any legal opinion to it.
“As a strong believer in the rule of law, it is his belief that the law should naturally take its cause. The Honourable Attorney General of the Federation will not be dragged into this controversy and mind-games being played out by the various legal minds and spin doctors of both camps at this point.
“The parties involved should await the decision of the courts.
“In fact, we wish to by this statement advice those in the habit of dragging the highly esteemed Office of the Honourable Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice into knotty issue of this kind even when it is yet to take a position. They should desist from these unwarranted presumptions henceforth. “

Nigerian forward Isaac Success completes record-breaking move to Watford…

WATFORD FC is delighted to confirm the signing of Isaac Success for a club record transfer fee.

The highly-rated forward has agreed a five-year contract at Vicarage Road and becomes the Hornets' third new signing ahead of the 2016/17 Premier League campaign, following Jerome Sinclair and Christian Kabasele.

The 20-year-old, who can play in a central or wide attacking role, moves from Spanish outfit Granada, having attracted interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs after scoring six goals in 30 La Liga appearances last season.

His impressive performances during the 2015/16 campaign also earned Success the club’s Player of the Year award.

A Nigerian Under-17 and Under-20 international, Success arrived at Granada in 2014 and went on to play 56 times in all competitions, scoring seven goals.

God Bless You, you made a valid point. Sincerely i don't like pdp but i want a vibrant and united pdp (opposition) that will give APC a run. I think Wike and Fayose coerce Mimiko to their side then thinking things will go their way. PDP should not have allow Sheriff into PDP talkless of making him their chairman.

Politics / Yomi Faparusi "Fapas" For US Congress by dridowu: 5:26pm On Jun 29, 2016
Who is Yomi Faparusi and why does he want to represent Tennessee’s 4th District?

Yomi Faparusi Sr. “Fapas” came to the United States in search of the American Dream. Fapas had to work minimum wage jobs in his quest and faced adversity. This life experience taught him that, it is not so much about whether one falls but it is more about how one rises after each fall. Above all, his opportunity to work with hard working Americans has made him appreciate what makes American unique and exceptional.
Dr. Faparusi grew up in Nigeria, West Africa; He received his Jurist Doctorate from Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware graduating with Cum Laude honors. Prior to law school, Dr. Faparusi received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Ibadan’s College of Medicine in Ibadan, Nigeria and his PhD in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. Fapas is a licensed physician, attorney and researcher. He currently runs three small businesses- a law practice, a consultancy partnership and a service oriented company.
Over the past decade, Dr. Faparusi has been very active in Republican campaigns within Tennessee and nationally. Yomi has spent a lot of time and effort to promote Conservative candidates such as working the Iowa Caucuses in 2012 for the Rick Perry campaign, driving through miles of rural Iowa to talk to the farmers. In the months leading to the 2012 general elections, Dr. Faparusi made multiple trips to central Ohio for the Romney/Ryan campaign to collect data as well as campaign door-to-door in northwest Ohio. Fapas has also been a member of Young Republican groups starting with the Maryland Young Republicans (MDYR) and lately the Tennessee Young Republicans.
As a Christian and a Conservative, Yomi believes that he can take the Common Sense, Constitutional message from Tennessee’s 4th District to Washington DC.
Dr. Faparusi is married to Yetunde Faparusi and they are blessed with 3 sons, Laolu, Baba and Yomi Jr.

Travel / Nigerian Woman Tied With Rope In India, Sedated After She Turned Violent (video) by dridowu: 10:35am On Jun 28, 2016
An altercation with a shopkeeper in National Market in Bengaluru landed a Nigerian woman in hospital in Malleswaram after the police restrained her. The woman was sedated in the hospital after she reportedly turned violent and created a ruckus.

The woman, Mariam, said to be in her 20s, had stopped at a shop in the electronics market on Monday afternoon with an unidentified man. She had entered a mobile phone store where the shopkeeper allegedly did not attend to her. She banged the glass shelf to gain his attention, but the shopkeeper asked her to refrain from it. She repeated the action and the glass broke, wounding her, the Hindu reported.

An altercation ensued with multiple shopkeepers in the area. The Upparpet police was alerted of the situation.

However, the woman was not pacified when the police tried to talk to her, following which she was tied with a rope. The duo was then taken to the KC General Hospital in Malleswaram for a medical test, but the woman reportedly turned violent when told to get out of the auto they were travelling in.

"She was attacking everyone who approached her. Later, when she was arguing with the police, someone came from behind and threw a bed sheet over her. Then she was sedated," a hospital staff told the Hindu. The woman was later taken to the emergency ward in National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS).

The two hospitals confirmed that force was used only to subdue her and she would be undergoing tests on Tuesday.

The incident comes only weeks after the Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj pacified African nations' envoys over the death of a Congolese man in New Delhi. The incident had resulted in the envoys threatening to boycott the "Africa Day" celebrations in New Delhi on May 25. The incident had raised eyebrows and grabbed media attention, requiring Swaraj to deploy Minister of State for External Affairs Gen VK Singh to promise the African Heads of Missions he would be meeting them once every quarter.

Apart from the attack on the Congolese man, there has been a series of crimes involving Africans in Bengaluru. In a horrific incident, a 21-year-old Tanzanian woman was stripped and paraded naked by a mob on Hessaraghatta Road in January. A month later, the Bengaluru Police had registered cases against African students for violence.
