He was using the money made from crude oil sales and the relief from our forgiven loans to defend the naira and pay subsidy. At some point, the money was bound to finish and here we are.

Stop cleaning, use mould spray to spray the affected areas, works like magic and cost about £1.

Dehumidifier works best in enclosed areas so even if you buy a bigger one, you will have to move it around and close where it's working.
Please can you recommend a brand of the spray to buy?

(DIP) Decision in Principle
Thanks. Ultimately the decision is yours. If you are a first time buyer, it may be easier to go with the builder's preferred brooker. If you prefer 1st broker, please use them. I doubt there will be any penalty. The sales rep may probably get a cut of the fees hence their recommendation.

I called this builder to reserve a property, told them I have a DiP, they said okay but asked that I call their mortgage advisor, that their mortgage advisor needs to see my DiP before they can go ahead with the reservation.

After speaking with their mortgage advisor, they didn't ask for my DiP, they carried their own assessment and are giving me the same lender as the former advisor.

I want to go with the former advisor, should I insist or play along?
What is DiP?

Labour actually want to win the next election though and to achieve this they are adopting a firm (missjekyll might call it rightwing) stance on immigration, seeing as it is one of the biggest issues the general public has had with them.

Libdems would be a sure bet though 😂

Well, immigration is just one of the issues. There are several other issues like the cost of living, tax, NHS etc. And what they say they will do is not necessarily what they will do when they get into power.

I would say your last statement is another right-wing talking point.

I think the labour party should select you to run in the next general election.
You speak well on issues and back it up with facts. People may not agree with you fully but you make sense always. Well done.

Well i believe there are still some good ones among the lots. A friend here had issues in his marriage and they did alot to help counsel them. And they're still happily married till date.
It's like advising someone with cancer to go and see a Pastor or Imam instead of going to the hospital beacause someone you know saw one and was healed.
It's better they see a professional.

First thing first OP, find a safe haven. You should move out for your safety and hers as well. Then speak with some people that are close to you both for interventions. If you're a Christian, get the church elders and pastors involved, if muslim, get your alfas and imams involved. Also get a marriage counselor to speak with both if you. If it seems like its not going to work out, then file for a divorce. Its not worth losing your lives. Play the calm one to de-escalate whatever tension that's brewing in your home. I know this is a tough nut to chew as some spouses tend to turn beasts in human form when they move down abroad.
Probably the worst set of people to involve. @palestineisrael please meet a professional counselor if you have to, not these people mentioned here.

PalestianIsrael:
Hi Elders,

Had to create a new account to hide my identity.

Need urgent advice. Domestic Violence.

I’m male based in UK.
Wife and I have been having arguments/fights.
Things have gotten physically unfortunately.
I don’t initiate it.
She says I trigger her by being on my own when we quarrel about couple issues or when I’m with my phone. She’s told me to leave the house. When I come back at night to sleep or when I’m using my phone/laptop around her, she will come and disturb me and start struggling with phone etc. She has smashed my phone. She has fought with me. Things are so bad she will bring out knives and say I should just stab her or use it to hurt her since my silence is “emotional stabbing” to her.
Our physical struggles lead to bites, cuts etc. on each of us. I repeat, I keep running away or holding myself (absorbing slaps and knife pokes etc.)

Long story short, this has happened too much. At least 3 or more occasions. I no longer feel safe. I think we need to separate while things escalate to our families etc. for reconciliation/solution.

Challenge is:
- we are on Tier 2 visa. I’m main applicant, she’s spouse. We both work.
- newly weds, no kids
- shame of failed marriage etc.
- we share a flat. Our lease is up, we are just paying a rolling month on month. That can be cancelled with 30 days notice.

I need advice from Elders who have either experienced similar issues or know people that have. We bought have pictures of the injuries we inflicted to each other as ammunition if things escalate to police.

I’m really confused. Please help!!!
First, there should be no shame in a failed marriage. You are very lucky that a child is not involved yet. It is better you separate physically than for one of you to murder the other. I suggest you save up and find a place to stay. And if you two are unable to figure things out, file for a divorce. Both of you deserve to be happy. If she feels you are not making her happy by being on your own, try and change and if you can't or are unwilling to, leave her. Last last, you two will be ok.

Let me even ask all of you that are angry...

1) Are you saying that we shouldn't TITHE at all?

2) Is your anger against paying TITHES to Church?

3) How many poor people have you genuinely paid your say £200 each month (10% of £2,000) since you so love poor people 😂 😁 😏?

Abeg make una answer grin grin grin

Na stingy people dey fight TITHING

Reminds me of Judas... he was so angry that a lady took a jar of perfume worth a years salary and used it to wash the feet of Jesus grin grin 😂... imagine using £35,000 to wash person feet grin grin

Stingy people 😂
My own is that anyone can pay tithe if they want, but just don't decieve people and say it's mandated that christains should pay it. That iswrong and a misinterpretation of the bible. If you must tithe, then you should consider obeying the other 612 or so laws or you risk incurring a curse. Also, make sure to use your tithe to buy and drink alcohol, as instructed in Deuteronomy 14:21 -ff. Also make sure you are giving it to the Levites too as instructed in the scriptures.
The Giving of Tithes
22 “You must set aside a tithe of your crops—one-tenth of all the crops you harvest each year. 23 Bring this tithe to the designated place of worship—the place the Lord your God chooses for his name to be honored—and eat it there in his presence. This applies to your tithes of grain, new wine, olive oil, and the firstborn males of your flocks and herds. Doing this will teach you always to fear the Lord your God.

24 “Now when the Lord your God blesses you with a good harvest, the place of worship he chooses for his name to be honored might be too far for you to bring the tithe. 25 If so, you may sell the tithe portion of your crops and herds, put the money in a pouch, and go to the place the Lord your God has chosen. 26 When you arrive, you may use the money to buy any kind of food you want—cattle, sheep, goats, wine, or other alcoholic drink. Then feast there in the presence of the Lord your God and celebrate with your household. 27 And do not neglect the Levites in your town, for they will receive no allotment of land among you.

28 “At the end of every third year, bring the entire tithe of that year’s harvest and store it in the nearest town. 29 Give it to the Levites, who will receive no allotment of land among you, as well as to the foreigners living among you, the orphans, and the widows in your towns, so they can eat and be satisfied. Then the Lord your God will bless you in all your work.

But do you.

It’s like there is some voyeuristic orgasm she gets whenever ‘Church’ is mentioned. Even if she’s on Nairaland holiday. As soon as church is mentioned, she will rush to castigate.

What I know - for a fact (and based on my UK experience) and the experience of thousands of others is that we have amazing stories of how God used the Church as a place of comfort for us when we arrived as newbies in this obodo UK.

For every 1 negative experience that some people may have, I dare say there are thousands (nay, millions) of positive experiences. But guess what? A microscopic few, very vocal minority makes it look like the ‘Church’ is a horrible place. Far from it!

Ps: Who else notice that there is this certain individual who is like Justwise’s doppelgänger. So many selahs and solid points in your comment. I especially like the bolded, because when some pastors compel paying tithe as a law, they conveniently forget that the Bible says that if you live by one law then you are no longer under grace and you have to keep all the laws.
My sister if we talk now they will say we do not understand the the bible. Christians are not under the law but we tend to pick and choose which part of the law to project if it favours us. I am seriously unlearning a lot of things taught to us erroneously in the past. The sad part is that some of the information is in plain sight but we only see it through our tinted glasses.
@rinzylee:
If they do not own private jets, will the gospel not be spread? I dare say it might even spread faster. Why can't they charter for example, if they must fly one? Will God be angry if they get to their destinations a day later? Why can't those inviting them fly them there? By all means pay your tithe but know that there is a curse on those who do not uphold the law Galatians 3
10 All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law."
11 Clearly no one is justified before God by the law, because, "The righteous will live by faith."
12 The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, "The man who does these things will live by them."
13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.
but let's move this topic to the appropriate section, we have derailed enough.

Ok I see your points which are very very valid.

Now let me try to do some explaining and I stand to be corrected and would appreciate any contribution too.

To start with, TITHING precedes Jesus Christ. It was even practised before Abraham came. So it is not a new testament or modern age fabrication. Infact Jesus made a very emphatic statement in Mathew 23:23 NLT translation "“What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are careful to tithe even the tiniest income from your herb gardens, but you ignore the more important aspects of the law—justice, mercy, and faith. You should tithe, yes, but do not neglect the more important things.

As much as it is a command by God, I will also say that He will not kill Mr A or Mrs B if they default , but there are conditions He has put to the obedience of that COMMAND. Infact, every blessing or promise in scripture has a condition to experience it. Even SALVATION which is FREE is based on the condition of REPENTANCE and BELIEVING in the finished works of CHRIST.

I agree that there are a lot of people who are not true men of God or who are basically interested in material possessions and have made a nonsense of the prosperity message (which is part of the gospel), but we must also not throw away the baby with the bath water.

Whether you will go to HELL for not paying TITHES, I can not guarantee, but what I can say is, if you have chosen to be a Christian, then trust God for GRACE to practise all its essence.

Brother, I think you are mistaken. First, what is tithe? Then what does the bible say about "paying" tithe. Was the instruction to pay tithes made to christians or the Jews? That passage you quoted, Christ was talking to Jews (The Pharisees) not Christians. What about parts of the scriptures that says you should use your tithe to buy alcohol and drink?
You mentioned "essence", if tithing was essential, why did Christ say it was not important?
If you choose tithing as one of the laws to obey, why are you not obeying the other 600+ laws?
I agree that giving is essential and good but why do we use it to build edifices and buy private jets. Christ said "Go ye into the world . . ." not build me palacial places of worship. Since I realised the truth about tithing, I have refrained from "paying" it. I concentrate more on my giving.
It is not recorded that the disciples paid tithe or ordered people to pay tithes.

The amount the car is worth is £1830, which is what he's entitled to in full.

Now that the car is written off, the wreck* (which the insurance company will own) is worth £420, so they're saying, 'if you want to keep the wreck, we'll deduct the price from your payout). So if he says they should take the wreck, they'll pay him the car's full worth, but if he wants to keep it, he'll pay them that residual sum for the wreck and so they'll only pay £1409.

*Saying 'Wreck' just for clarity. In many cases written-off cars are perfectly driveable except for dents, broken lights and cosmetic issues, especially Cat N (non-structural) ones like this one. Takes some effort to get recertified as roadworthy (compulsory before driving on-road) but often well worth it.
Yes, that's my interpretation which is different from what oga Lexus wrote.

The vehicle is written off, the value before the accident was £1830, but now with a salvage title, it's only worth £1409.10..... ..

If you want to dispose the vehicle, 1830 - 1409.10 = 420.90, once salvage pack is received, you would receive the balance of £420.90.........

So in essence, your insurance would only pay 1830, but you can keep the vehicle (den dash you)..... Make you dey carry your wahala go........ 😜🤣

NB : Reject this first offer and say the car is worth more...... They would ask you for proof...... You might still be able to squeeze £200+ out from your insurance company........
I would have thought the car is now worth £420 hence why they are offering to pay him the difference, is that assumption not correct?

* the wait time for NHS gynae is quite long (around one and half year) am I better off going to Nigeria or another EU country?
* if you have used a private gynae, please refer with any information that may be useful.
