Jobs/Vacancies / Winners Have Emerged From The Unicaf Scholarship Essay Competition by eklassical(m): 3:35pm On Jan 14, 2019
The three winners of the UNICAF essay competition ‘Higher Education of international quality shaping the leaders of tomorrow in Nigeria and in Africa’, received their prizes and talked to media representatives at the award ceremony, held on January 9, at the UNICAF offices in Lagos.
First winner was Folashade Shodipo, a diction and phonetics teacher from Iyana-Ipaja, who won a full scholarship to pursue a Master’s of Business Administration with Unicaf University, plus a monetary reward of N100,000 in cash.

Speaking to journalists at the ceremony, Folashade said the UNICAF Scholarship Programme is helping enhance the higher education system in Nigeria. "It is one of the best ways for Nigerians to get access to higher education through online study, because it is all encompassing and the teaching personnel is qualified and experienced” said Folashade and continued, “University education in Nigeria is getting more expensive every year, so UNICAF serves as a credible, flexible and affordable choice. More institutions should copy this beautiful idea, so that more African people have access to low cost, credible higher education".

First runner up, Chekwube Okeke, a college teacher from Lagos, won a full scholarship to pursue a Professional Development Short Course with Unicaf University, plus N50,000 in cash. He said "the younger generation should not give up on higher education because of how expensive it has become, but they should strive hard to increase their knowledge and skills. Information is now at their fingertips, they should search online for education opportunities because knowledge is power". He further said that "the Nigerian government should help in establishing more online providers of higher learning, and higher education should become more practical, pragmatic and less theoretical". Chekwube expressed great appreciation to UNICAF for the rare opportunity given to him.

Second runner-up, Emmanuel Babatope Famokun, a Communications Consultant in Lagos, stressed that UNICAF has really inspired him with the concept of quality higher education made available online, and not confined within the four walls of a classroom. He advised fellow Nigerians to “tap into higher education opportunities available through the Internet to get empowered and exposed to many other nationalities and cultures." Emmanuel won a full scholarship to pursue a Professional Development Short Course with Unicaf University.

The UNICAF Scholarship Programme has offered so far scholarships to eligible individuals in Africa and the rest of the world worth more than 90 million USD and has helped change more than 15 thousand lives, through international quality higher education.

Everyone now claims to hear from God. Whoever beleives this man's ''prophecy'' would believe that the Donkey in Shrek impregnated the Dragon.

Do not mistake fortune-telling skills for prophecy.

Car Talk / Re: Six Areas To Check Before Buying A Used Vehicle by eklassical(m): 8:46am On Feb 08, 2018
Biko how do I confirm from the police? Before or after paying for the car?

Do you know any of their offices in Lagos? I.e SARS

Alexkene:
1. Verify the number plates and check whether the car is a stolen car from Police.

2. Verify that custom papers and check whether duty was paid on the vehicle from Customs.

3. Go with your mechanic to inspect the engine of the car thoroughly to verify if there’s any engine fault or gear issues.

4. You can also go with an autoeletrician (rewire) to check if the car has any electrical faults.

5. Verify the papers to make sure everything is intact.

My 2 cents

Question 5: Describe your idea of a perfect Nigeria.

Answer: Nigeria, my country, our country has been battered and bruised as a “child”, dragged along as a “teenager” and now as an “adult” she has lost her way. So many imperfections, bridled and sketchy paths on our sojourn to greatness is so visible. Moving from a state of underdevelopment to a developed one is so far-fetched, some of our leaders are tired of trying, some are really working hard that I must commend and some do not have an inkling of what it entails to develop a society. They need to be purged out of the system!
Allow me to paint a scenario of what a perfect Nigeria should look like.
* Imagine a situation where you wake up one morning and noticed that electricity which is a vital ingredient to productivity has been very stable,
* The issue of population explosion in urban areas has been drastically reduced to its bearest minimum,
* Corruption has been totally eradicated. Yes! Its possible.
* Where there is some sense of direction in the polity of our nation.
* Where our leaders are politically sane and “knows their onions”.
* Where the streets will be safe to walk by at night.
* Where truly the police officers are really your friend.
* A state where there will be a good balance in the areas of Agriculture, manufacturing, security, culture and religion, medical/health services and service based areas of our economy.
* Where the rate of unemployment is so infinitesimal because our youths have garnered skills due to effective training platforms set-up by the government.
* Where the Naira would be a major player in financial markets all over the world.
* Where our educational sector will be taken serious and more funds pumped into Research and infrastructures.
I can go on and on, but honestly Nigeria needs change, Yes! We are on the verge of transformation, transforming our Motherland to be the best place to live on in the world.

from now onwards! its TeamXAVIER.a.k.a mr President wink wink
