Family / Re: MOTHERS’ DAY - A Poem Dedicated To All Mothers by Elaibedouglas: 8:36pm On Mar 31, 2019
todaynewsreview:
MOTHERS’ DAY
By Jeremiah Onoriode Atomre

Waking up that morning was just like every other day
Ooh! Ooh! Were the responses of my other siblings
Time for morning devotion
As she led the way

After some extra rest
Decided to take my bathe
Wao! Today really is mother’s day
Sorry, women’s day
But whose day is this really?
As I begin to ponder over
Who really owns the day?
Is it for all women or only for mothers?

Even as we headed for the day’s service
Parents were seen with their children
Leading them were the mothers
But which woman would never wanted to be a mother
Grieve in my heart
As I pondered on this issue
Oh God! Make them all mothers

The faith of the barren widows sounded
Oh! Can she for once be a mother?
Oh! Others who after many years of marriage
Can they be mothers too?

All mothers, oh! All women
Seen very happy and excited
As their God’s children present them gifts
Will she accept one of these as her?
No! Yes! No! Yes! No! No! Yes! Yes!

Even as she returns home
None of the God sons or daughters
Alone she went to a lonely home
Alone she went to the hands of him
“God’s time is the best”
As he consoles her

But what society can do without them?
I don’t think there’s any

Children, pupils, students and even husbands
Depends on these women for most things
Could it be for all things?
Only time and times can tell
She even borrowed when the going gets tough
Always there for the children upkeep
Even in the midst of none
Always sought for a way out

School fees, good clothes, good foods, better houses
Were her plight
When one is sick, hungry, accused or even arrested
She is always there

Wonder what life would have been without them
Oh God! Bless our mothers
Oh! Our women
Oh God! Bless all women
Oh God! Bless us all.

TheGiftedOne:
That does not change the fact that he's not a top notch tactician. Man U are dangling with their reputation.

Edwoodward should go snap up Pochentino. He's proven his worth over the years.

I need gift cards. I wanna buy. Pls dm me. Thanks!

Proven himself by winning nothing. If solkjaer makes 3rs position this year he is equal to pochentino. What then if he wins the UCL??
Sports / Uefa Arranged Champions League Draw For Juve Vs Barca Final by Elaibedouglas: 9:15pm On Mar 21, 2019
The Champions league draw last week was a charade as Uefa deliberately paired Juve and Barca with draws that sees them likely to get to the final. It can be reported that Platini in 1998 while working for FIFA arranged the draws so France and Brazil play in the final. Platini later confessed last year of the little trick. However With Juve facing Ajax and Barca facing Man utd I see a shock result that ruins this arrangement

What is the use of having democracy if what happens is no different from a military junta. Instead of Buhari let there be a military take over let all our politicians rest. Democracy has been abused and bastardized too much and to think of another 4 years of Buhari. Let Military take over and organize a fresh election in one year time

Politics / Election Postponement Caused By A Fear Of Failure By Soibi Ransom by Elaibedouglas: 9:45am On Feb 16, 2019
Postponement of 2019 Election caused by a fear of failure.

By Soibi Ransom

Nigeria Africa’s largest nation has been preparing for her general elections for a while now with the Independent National Electoral Commission scheduling the Presidential elections for today 16th February 2019.

The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission Prof. Mahmood Yakubu in the last few months had spoken strongly of its readiness to conduct the pools as pre-planned.

Many Nigerians had collected their Personal Voting Cards ( PVC ) and were set to install their preferred candidate to steer the affairs of the nation for the next four years. However a recent twist in the arrangement of things in the 11th hour suggests the long awaited Presidential elections will not take place today. The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission had announced early this morning after an emergency meeting.

” Following a careful review of the implementation of its logistics and operational plan, and the determination to conduct free, fair, and credible elections, the commission came to the conclusion that proceeding with the elections as scheduled is no longer feasible.”

“Consequently, the Commission has decided to reschedule the Presidential and National Assembly Elections to Saturday, 23rd February 2019. Furthermore, the Governorship, State House of Assembly and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council Elections is rescheduled to Saturday 9th March 2019. This will afford the Commission the opportunity to address identified challenges in order to maintain the quality of our elections.

Nigerians have reacted to this development with a feeling of disdain for the commission and the ruling Party the All Progressive Congress.
