Religion / “after Praying For Me, The Pastor Had Gay Sex With Me”|watch Nigerian LGBT Docum by emeka94(m): 9:46am On Mar 27, 2017
Few days before the infamous Same Sex Prohibition Act was signed into law by former President Goodluck Jonathan, The Initiative for Equal Rights (TIERs), a sexual health advocacy organization based in Nigeria, filmed a documentary titled: Veil of Silence.

Veil of Silence – using stories told by LGBT persons living in Nigeria – sought to highlight the negative effect of the Anti-Same Sex Marriage law and how LGBT persons face increased and unjustified attacks because of the law. The documentary which was released on March 14, 2017 explored in detail the pains, suffering, experiences, and stigmatization faced by LGBTs persons living in Nigeria.

“To argue that the law is beneficial to all Nigerians is similar to arguing that a law that allows nine Nigerians to appropriate the property of one Nigeria is beneficial because at least it is something nine Nigerians want,” said prominent writer and lawyer, Ayo Sogunro.

“You cannot take away from one to satisfy the other. Laws are made to ensure equality amongst everyone,” Sogunro concluded.

The documentary also featured several experts – lawyers, advocates, medical practitioners, and more – speaking extensively on the adverse effect of the Anti-Same Sex Marriage law as well as the implication of the stigma faced by LGBT persons.
It was also highlighted in the documentary that violence and homophobia has increased since the law was passed by the Nigerian government – leading some experts to argue that the law is a form of state sponsored homophobia.

Autos / Uber Announces 50% Discount On All Rides In Lagos For 10 Days In November! by emeka94(m): 4:54pm On Nov 03, 2016
So I read this online a little while back, and I thought to share with you all. grin grin

Uber Nigeria announced today that from the 3rd till 13th of November all riders in Lagos will get 50% off their trips. The 50% off campaign, initiated and covered by Uber Nigeria, is aimed to reward loyal riders in Lagos who have made Uber their preferred choice of transportation.

Ebi Atawodi, General Manager Uber West Africa, said ‘’Lagos has always been a key city in Nigeria and Africa. We are always looking at innovative ways to celebrate riders, drivers and cities and we thought it was only fitting, as we come closer to the end of the year celebrations, that we reward our loyal riders with a 50% discount promotion. Giving riders a more affordable option to move around their city, and drivers an increase in demand for trips.’’

To partake in this promotion, riders do not need to do anything as Uber will be creating an auto-apply discount code that will ensure that rides taken throughout the campaign are automatically discounted. So, open the app on the 3rd November and request a ride, a driver will be curbside in minutes.

For those concerned about the impact on their partner's personal income - there is no need to worry, this promotion is being covered by Uber. Driver-partners can expect more demand from fare paying passengers and less time spent idle waiting for rides.

So, pull out your calendars and start scheduling your end of year parties and festive celebrations - and make sure to use Uber wherever it is you’re going. Uber will take you there in safely, reliably and at 50% of the original price

Celebrities / Untold Facts: How To Be Comfortable In Your Skin When Coming Out Of The Closet by emeka94(m): 2:10pm On Oct 06, 2016
On the latest episode of Untold Facts which will air today, 29 September, host, Moses Omoghena, discussed with guests on the process and experience of young people in the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community coming out of the ‘closets.’

Omoghena points out that there are two types of closets for LGBT men and women: “the first closet is where he stays for fear of stigmatization, discrimination and even violence, where he tries to discover himself and find himself and also discover that he wasn’t a freak of nature after all. The second closet is where he finally gets to associate with like-minds, where he gets the opportunity to bind together with his friends and those who share a common sexual orientation.”

Guests on this episode are Olumide Makanjuola, a sexual health and rights promoter, and Pamela Adie, business strategy consultant, communication expert, social media strategist, feminist and human rights defender.

Speaking on how a young person from the LGBT community can navigate through the waters of coming out of the closet in a society like ours, Olumide stated that “From my past experience working with people in this community and with the job I do, people have to first of all be comfortable in their own skin and they should realize that they're okay, they are not sick, they're not crazy.”

Olumide, who has worked and engaged policy makers at different levels of government and at the international level, also said that these persons also get to find out for themselves that “nothing is wrong with them."

Making her contribution, Adie said, "People have to work their journey, I worked mine, it took me a while but I eventually got to where I am now."

Adie hammered on the importance of gay men and women coming out to themselves and also accepting themselves as the first step towards happiness and comfort in one’s skin.

MimiHANS:

The conditions for graduating from NOUN are:

1) Seminar.
2) Industrial Training.
3) Minimum of 120 credit units.
4) Project.

Judiciously, it's advisable you re-run your pending and failed courses. Telling you to re-run the failed ones and ignore the pending ones doesn't make any iota of sense. Re-write the failed ones to earn half of your point/grade back and the pending ones to avoid any form of obstacles.

Furthermore, try to start working on your project on time. Do not wait till 400L second semester, so as to finish and submit it without hassles and to meet the deadline for project submission.

thanks a lot, very helpful
am currently working on my project haven't started seminar thou. thanks a bunch for the advice

omenka:
FFK is trying too hard to get noticed and called upon to come dine with people at the top of the food chain, just the same way he lashed out endlessly at Jonathan until he was invited to the table. Sadly, that technique seems to have fallen flat on its face this time around, reason why every subsequent article of his becomes laced more and more with inciting ethnic and religious innuendoes.

Everyone know his antecedents hence only barbarians like himself would take him seriously.

When he was on the other side, he insulted the Igbos and PDP making himself look like a pro Yoruba nationalist, when he crossed over, he took it out on Yorubas, becoming a self appointed spokesman for Igbos- for him, it is always about ethnicity and religion, and conveniently so- they happen to be the two elements that are sure to get the juices in Nigerians flowing these days. Even on the forum, any thread that appears to pitch the two tribes or religion against one another run into tens of pages less than 24 hrs after its creation. He speaks and quotes the Bible to appear "christianly" and have gullible Christians file behind him thinking "yes, we've got a fearless valiant who can speak for us, when in fact, his character as a person runs afoul of the teaching of Christ and the doctrine of Christianity- yes, I judge him so.

FFK, like I always say, is a hazard to himself, his family, and a threat to our national security. His desperation and primitive lust for power, money and respect makes him disregard inhibitions and courtesy when he opens his mouth to speak. This same man once told us Jonathan was bound to bring nothing but doom to this nation and other such statements, today,.....

I believe when all the dust settles, people like himself wouldn't even get as much as a cold floor by the porch upon which to lay their wasted bodies, let alone given press coverage.

Only time would tell.

you left the substance of the argument to attack FFK personality. fallacy
