Oh this Yorochi guy!! Lost his Dad at a very young age and I just admire the fact that he was always proud of his job. even on the group with fine girls Nigga would still be proud to say he's a welder and always share pictures of work done e.t.c

But well I still don't get how wheelbarrow pushing would rake in Millions like do you charge 5k/trip??

He has about 20 wheelbarrows on lease, each gets him #200 daily. cumulatively that's 4000 daily. Now multiply 4k daily by at least 25 days in a month thats 100k a month of passive income. in a year he would just log in 1.2M......

Health / COOUTH Resident Doctors Strike. by emmaliver(m): 8:05pm On Jun 08, 2019
LINGERING DOCTORS STRIKE; THE HEIGHT OF INSENSITIVITY OF ANAMBRA STATE GOVERNMENT

It is no news that Consultants and Resident doctors in Anambra State owned teaching hospital, COOUTH have been on strike for about a month now with no real efforts on the part of the Government to resolve the industrial disharmony.

The unfolding of this ugly development dated back to December 2018 when the Doctors issued a 21-day ultimatum to the State Government through the Hospital's Management. The ultimatum was substantially about the need for improved funding of the State Teaching Hospital that would enable provision of adequate facilities for enhanced health care delivery, Academics, Training and Research while establishing proper remuneration for health workers.

It is on record that doctors in the state owned teaching hospital earn the poorest not only in Nigeria but the whole West Africa, being paid about 40% of what their counterparts earn. To make matters worse, these essential workers have not seen any promotion/benefits/welfare packages for over 7 years of service. The Doctors in the State Teaching Hospital are the worst hit.

On the other hand, Patients have been suffering untold hardships in the State Hospitals due to dearth of diagnostic equipments, lack of enough and qualified manpower, non-motivation of the few remaining Staff; all amidst rising service charges, inflating hospital bills and other inconveniences.

Upon the expiry of the ultimatum, Doctors proceeded on warning Strike in January 2019 which was cut short after the State Government agreed to implement better funding and address other issues of the Hospitals and Health workers by April 2019.

Unfortunately, we are now in June 2019 and still awaiting fulfillment of the promises/agreements 2 months later. Sequel to this, Doctors have embarked on an indefinite strike which is now approaching a month. The Teaching hospital is now a ghost of itself as services are completely grounded and beds empty.

For negotiations, the Government only offered to redress the dismal situation when implementing the new minimum wage, maybe in a year's time. Funny enough, one cannot help but wonder the link between better funding of institutions as essential as Hospitals and paying of Minimum wage. Some of the health workers never got the old minimum wage, and talk more, the new one is supposedly on the way.

The State's only Teaching Hospital, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital (COOUTH) Awka has not been able to employ and retain experienced and highly qualified doctors since inception due to the poor working condition and welfare package. The brain drain has generated much flux, instability and chaos among the few overwhelmed remnant workforce thus undermining medical service delivery. Bitterly still, majority of the remaining workforce are also on their way out in frustration.

How appalling can it get that poor patients of these Hospitals have become stranded and on verge of perishing while the State Government fold its hands and watch? It is quite sad and disappointing that Anambra that prides as the light of the nation with the famous Alert Governor has not been able to resolve this minor health sectoral challenge.

We solemnly appeal to His Excellency, Governor Obiano, Akpokuedike Global, to come to the aid of the helpless patients, of the common man, of the people of Anambra and address this conflict once and for all, so that health workers would go back to their indispensable services.

Thank you.

Health / The Real Problem In COOUTH Awka. by emmaliver(m): 12:51pm On May 22, 2019
The problem I learnt that exists in amaku is not desire for pay increment but for the programme introduced to be funded. I learnt the accreditation teams of both colleges screamed when they were told that a resident earns 130k there.
They wondered how the person will survive the programme and made recommendations for mgt to institute full conmess for the programmer to take off. Now govt is priding that they introduced residency programme through hon comm for information, but he didn't inform the public that they sent a child on an errand in the market with no money to buy items in the list. These guys were on medical officer cadre earning d little pay of130k and silent since the state refused to do something about it. What most of them do is to hustle outside, save enough money to leave the country, or move to other centers by oiling palms mostly.

At the winding up of the previous management, they introduced residency with no template. The present management out of his desire to kickstart things introduced template by way of condition of service which was non-existent in amaku since inception. However, he equally forced some doctors who had worked there as medical officers for years to resign their permanent job status and pick up appointment letters as residents, losing their entitlements as permanent staff of the state govt after years of hard work with little pay. Another sacrifice came when residency academic programmes were introduced by all departments example Obgyn does 8am morning audit review every morning plus others. These residents fuel their car, to attend this daily review at paltry sum of 130k. Most of them if not all have relinquished their street hustle to face the programme with expectations that the salary would be increased to reflect the volume of commitment expectant of a resident. They made the drive to the mgt and govt, agreement of implementation was signed before they called off their January warning strike but govt denied that the agreement was binding. Now how can a resident do all that is enshrined in residency programme with 130k. How many months would they save to go for update, pay for exams and settle family bills. That's living in penury in this harsh economic realities. A hungry man cannot concentrate and study effectively. These guys have families, bills to pay. All they are saying is this: as you introduced residency, please introduce what comes with residency at the same time or else your accreditation will be useless and a waste.

There is no senior registrar to guide them. The only SR there from community medicine was helped by NAUTH people to go for exam. There is no structure in Amaku that aided her. She relied on her husband for funding and on NAUTH for training. We know it’s possible in comm Med it’s not feasible with other core clinical specialties. She's part of the strike and a big one at that cos her salary as SR changed to 150k after passing part1.

The consultants earn 190k. How can they key into the programme with that kind of pay.lets be real to ourselves and call a spade a spade. Let us know why these guys are on strike and refused to go back even after futile meeting with the governor.

The governor shared their pain but did nothing immediate to give them succor and encouragement to get back to work. He narrated how his daughter earns millions as Resident and in his words "o ifea ka Ndia na-eli n'ugwo onwa? " very pathetic. However he said state will implement minimum wage and add around 12k across board involving the resident Drs.now adding 12k will take it up to 140k which is still useless salary to earn as residents.

The mgt doesn't believe in giving these guys their entitlement. The eligible ones should be given in-service training after working for 6-10yrs before introducing the residency, they refuse to pay them well to focus on the programme, made them give up their hustle in the street to face residency but the hunger in them is too much to be able to manage just 130k for residency training.

The cry is let anambra doctors forum,NMA,etc understand what is going on in amaku is very demoralizing.
It is noteworthy that johesu in amaku earns 70percent of conhess while the doctors earn less than 40percent conmess.
Let us all support these guys in their struggle cos this struggle is not for them alone. If they succeed, other fellows looking for job would start coming to amaku to work because of the results of their present struggle.

Doctors with primary would start coming to amaku as well. It is worthy to note that surgery has only 3residents,they have been advertising for over a year now. Doctors would apply, come in and ask the pay package. Once they learn that the pay package is 130k they take to their heels and choose to stay in private practice where they earn better.

Their fight is for all not necessarily for them cos a number of them are actively making plans to leave the hospital to better places.

It is noteworthy to say that Saudi Arabia recruiting agency is now the biggest poaching agency having taken over 10 doctors of amaku in less than one year. Some are preparing for PLAB. Others looking for residency elsewhere while others are stuck in the system.

The next thing in the phase of the strike is for the mgt to talk about "no work no pay" and even sack. But taking that lane would paint the mgt bad to say the least cos the fight is for their survival and he who is down fears no fall.

Let's call a spade a spade and speak for this guys.

Concerned diaspora doctor, former amaku doctor.

These guys will apply for a diploma course in Malaysia, once they get admitted, they will use the admission letter and apply for 2 years students visa and that will be the beginning of their fraudulent adventure in Malaysia.

They will be attending classes in order to show that they are students and be doing their yahoo and drug deals. Once the 2 years elapsed they will look for a Malaysian lady to marry as that will enable them get work permit to continue their drug and yahoo business.

Whenever I see them addressed as students I will just laugh.
