Business / Re: Interswitch Fraud E-mail Pls Be Aware And Spread The News by enolase(m): 11:08pm On Dec 21, 2007
A note for Nairalanders!

I got this email as well. I believe it is a scam and should not be responded to. Also the fact that it purpotedly comes from the authentic Interswitch email address (info@interswitchng.com) suggests that the security of Interswitch mail server system may have been compromised.

Anyone from Interswitch or who can reach Interswitch should raise this issue.
Business / Re: Atm: Automated Thiefing Machine Indeed. by enolase(m): 10:59pm On Dec 21, 2007
U are even lucky.

Yesterday, a malfunctioning First Bank ATM machine trapped the ATM cards of hundreds of customers (including mine). I am yet to collect it (bottlenecks galore).

Or is it the uncompleted transfer of N50,000 to my account that passed through Interswitch platform(an online transfer) that is running into the fourth month, unresolved?

Worst of all is the rudeness with which the bank staff handle the complaints. Nauseating! angry angry angry

Oh boy, the TRUE TEST of any human relationship, be it marriage, friendship, etc is how it goes when times are bad.

This girl is a "wind vane". U remember how a wind vane works? Turns to the direction with the strongest wind ( or is it heavier bank account in this case?)

Simply tell her off. There are too many decent girls.

Let me tell you brother, if you go ahead to marry this girl, you will find out that marriage is more than taking her to the best joints, going shopping, Valentine dinners, etc.

It's a reality many do not know about until they enter, and they are stuck with the package they have got.

A word is enough for the wise!
Sports / Re: Is Wrestling (WWE) Real Or Not? by enolase(m): 8:55pm On Nov 14, 2007
Please the guy who said WWF changed their name to WWE because of govt. intervention should get his facts straight. The WorlWide Fund for Nature (WWF) instituted a lawsuit over the WWF abbreviation, claiming ownership. Vince McMahon decided to change the name rather than pursue an expensive legal battle.

FACTS:

The matches are scripted, but the wrestlers are trained to deliver the blows safely, and also take blows that can't be delivered safely because many of them are as real as it gets.

The move known as the "piledriver" has many variants, but only the Tombstone Piledriver is now allowed because that is the only form that can be delivered safely. In an Intercontinental Title match between Owen Hart and Stonecold Steve Austin, Owen Hart delivered a modified version that almost paralysed Stone Cold for real. Not long after. the move was banned. Only the Tombstone version (where the knees of the deliverer help support the head of the recipient so that contact is not made by the recipient's head on the canvas) is allowed.

The bleeding is as real as it gets. It's not a fake.

The wrestlers are on a cocktail of special drugs that help wrestlers recover from the vigours of matches. In the early days, steroids were also used. But the death of over 42 wrestlers in a space of 10 years from steroid related causes and an impending string of court cases by aggrieved families caused the WWE to stop their use by wrestlers.

Ravishing Rick Rude
The British Bulldog
Hercules
Bryan Adams (otherwise known as Crush of the Tag team Champs of the late 80s, The Demolition)
Curt "Mr Perfect" Hennig
The Big Boss Man
Bam Bam Bigelow
Brian Pellman
Terry Gordy (along with Michael Hayes and Buddy Roberts were the Fabulous Freebirds)
Ed "The Bull" Gantner
Eddie Guerrerro
Chris Benoit

The list is endless: all (except Chris Benoit here) died of steroid related cardiac arrest and all between the ages of 35 to 45 years.

So as the wrestling matches are scripted, it should be remembered that there are occupational hazards, and real injuries occur.

Without training (wrestlers are sent to a training school before drafted to the real deal- a bit like loaning of players in soccer), a human being can't take the blows they take.

C'est fini!
Business / Re: I Need A Loan From Micro-Finance Banks by enolase(m): 11:33am On Oct 10, 2007
VC2007, Would u be so kind as to supply us the name of this microfinance bank beside UST junction?

I do hope you know that the so-called community banks havea deadline to be transformed into microfinance banks or be liquidated.

So when I said First Global was the only licensed microfinance bank in PH till date, I really am not sure if I am wrong.
Business / Re: I Need A Loan From Micro-Finance Banks by enolase(m): 12:21pm On Oct 08, 2007
Sergio, I disagree with you on the issue of collateral. Microfinance banks do not require substantive collateral. If that were to be the case, then why are they called microfinance banks? Why were they created to serve the interests of those who cannot access loans from the commercial banks because of inability to meet the stringent conditions attached?

Since you live in PH, just go to First Global Microfinance Bank at 60 Trans Amadi Road. It is the only Microfinance bank in PH.
Business / Re: My Debit Card Is Retained In Atm Machine. by enolase(m): 7:05pm On Oct 04, 2007
The ATM machine has a tray into which retained cards are pushed into. They are usually collected at the end of the day and submitted to the officer in charge of ATM matters in the bank where the ATM is located.

Simply go back to the same branch and make the complaint along with evidence of ownership of the card (your cheque book or passbook and identification will do). They should then sort you out.
Family / Re: I Won't Circumcise My Baby Boy (If Any) by enolase(m): 12:03am On Oct 04, 2007
Rates of scrotal cancer and HIV infection are significantly higher in uncricumcised men. This is a known medical fact.

I have seen a case of scrotal cancer in a guy with HIV infection in 2002 (what a combo). A very grotesque sight with an "R' rating. If I paste the picture here, 90% of Nairalanders will throw up persistently for two weeks straight.

That is if some don't pass out! tongue

Seun, I am sure if you see the picture, you will even circumcise your baby boy in the womb!
Business / Re: Urgent Pls: Forex Should I Go Live by enolase(m): 6:43pm On Oct 02, 2007
If you have indeed raised your demo account ( i don't know your margin levels) by this quantity, wetin you dey wait for?

But please make your client understand that there are very tangible risks of losing money. This will save you a lot of embarrassment if things do not go your way.

In addition, also remember that having succeeded in demo does not necessarily translate into similar results on live trading.

Personally, i feel that less than one month is not enough time to master forex trading to the level of going live, let alone with someone's money.

But if you are confident enough, please go for it! Afterall, life is all about risk (calculated ones though).

Well, not too surprised. I have never been a fan of banks and their products. There is always a twist to the tale.

Someone sent me money via the Interswitch/FlashMeCash interbank transfer that was widely hailed on this forum. His account was debited, mine was not credited! undecided

Till today, two weeks after, the story is still the same: "we are working on it".

Business / Re: Dont Fall Victim, Uba Atm Machines Are Automated Thieving Machines! by enolase(m): 4:41pm On Sep 27, 2007
Here's a tip to avoid this problem.

The bank has a documentation of how much money is loaded into the machine on any given day, and also has a record of the transactions on that machine.

If for any reason you are not paid by the ATM, please go and make an immediate complaint, and demand that the machine be made unavailable for further use. Then they should be made to count the money left in the machine and cross check it with what is on the printed records of the ATM.

Very important.

Yesterday, someone nearly had a nasty experience in UBA. The money that was pushed out for him was almost drawn back after 5 secs. The guy had to forcefully stop his money from being taken back into the machine. It temporarily made the machine dysfunctional, but he got his money! cheesy
Business / Re: A Loan Needed Urgently by enolase(m): 7:40pm On Sep 17, 2007
Iyke D,

I assume you need the money for starting some kind of business, and not to settle liabilities. It is unrealistic to expect to be given N1m as loan without collateral.

Have you thought of attending the SMEDAN seminars in Abuja, where you will told how to access loans of up to N1m from any of the microfinance banks?

To access this means you must have a sound business idea and a good proposal which you must submit at the SMEDAN office. Then make plans to attend their monthly training seminars. This will set you up on the way to getting your loan.

Getting loans is not easy, make no mistake about that. You must be prepared to follow the right path to be able to get such a loan.

Of course, there are other methods of raising finance for your business. There are several books marketed on how to contact money givers and philanthropists.

Check Success Digest Extra for details on how to get one of such books they have. I have seen some adverts on this forum that tow the same line.

Explore them!
Properties / Re: Calabar (virgin Land) by enolase(m): 1:08pm On Sep 15, 2007
Londoncool,

Your response shows a guy who is in touch with what is happening, and has made very clear and lucid observations on the state of affairs in CRS, and not just argue blindly based on ethnicity.

Kudos!

Anyway, the absence of industries and investment outlets makes the state a virgin land of sorts. Afterall, the area called New York today was once bush at a certain point in time in history.

I think it would be wise to look beyond just Calabar itself and see what can be done in the areas of Agriculture and Solid Minerals in the state. Of course, there is a whole lot that can be done.
Business / Re: What Do You Know About Globe Reinsurance by enolase(m): 2:35pm On Sep 14, 2007
Private placement ended some time ago.

What should be the primary concern is the rumour circulating that Jimoh Ibrahim's NICON and Nigerian Re-insurance (which has a merger arrangement with Globe Re-Insurance) were deficient in some of the requirements for re-certification.

This situation has not been helped by the court injunction obtained by Barrister Jimoh Ibrahim restraining NAICOM from carrying out re-certification of the companies in question.

Let's see what happens in the next few weeks.

Given the court injunction obtained by Barr. Jimoh Ibrahim preventing NAICOM from carrying out a re-certfication of NICON Insurance and Nigerian Re-insurance (which has a substantial stake in Globe Re-), it may be wise to actually carry out a check to know how the whole affair will affect Globe Re-Insurance, viz-a-viz listing, etc.
Investment / Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by enolase(m): 8:05am On Sep 13, 2007
All these banks that are just coming out to mop up funds and depress the secondary market.

Meanwhile, they don't give the kind of loans they ought to be giving. They have drastically cut down the amount of funds that are available for use by Small and Medium scale Enterprises.

A have friends who tried to access the mandatory 20% profit after tax money CBN mandated them to keep aside to give out loans to SMIEES. Nasty stories all the way. Staff at the bank look at them practically as beggars, and treat them as such.

My take is that before a bank comes to start pandering about public offers, they have to show their intention to make loans accessible to those who want them. If they can't, then they should be stopped from depressing the secondary market in the name of public offers.

Perhaps Nigerians should stop buying public offers altogether in protest.

Politics / Re: Know The Documents Police Should Ask For At Checkpoints! by enolase(m): 2:56am On Sep 07, 2007
On a lighter side! cheesy

Try and know as many of their big ogas as possible. How do you do that?

Simple! Make friends with an ASP or DSP. From there, start following him to the Inspectors' Mess, where other ASPs and DSPs usually go (they mostly go there because they get more recognition than the Officers' Mess where the "Really Big Ogas, the ACPs and DCPs, etc go).

From there, you will start knowing them little by little.

Then graudate from there to going to Officers' Mess. From there, pop into a birthday bash thrown for one of them. From there, pop in occasionally to see one or two "Delta Papa Oscars", with some occasional "appreciation" to go with it.

Like play like play, you will get to know virtually all the police big shots that matter.

Once you have enough rapport and phone numbers to go with it, I bet you, never again will you be stopped at a police checkpoint.

This process has worked very well for me. Not only that. Many have been beneficiaries of FREE treatment from me, especially when they contract something from some of their "extracurricular activities".

Once my car developed an electrical problem which caused me not to have any headlamps while driving at night on my way home from work. In the process, I almost hit a policeman who was on the road without his torch (una know say that their black and black get as e be!)

Over a dozen policemen jumped out from nowhere, cocking their guns and ordering me out of the car.

By the time I mentioned the name of their DPO, their DCO and a few "Supols" who worked in that station, I was left off the hook sharp sharp.

One of them even offered to help get an electrician to fix my problem that night.

Need I tell you that I don't even get stopped in that checkpoint anymore?

That is also an insurance cover if the need arises. cheesy cheesy cheesy

Business / Re: Dangote Flour And Price Of Bread by enolase(m): 2:36am On Sep 07, 2007
The demand for flour in Nigeria is much more than any of the three Dangote flour factories or any of the other flour mills can handle.

That's the explanation. Same with cement.

As a medical person, I can tell you that Union Diagnostics will get a lot of business in Nigeria.

The laboratory and radiological services offered by this company are mostly unavailable in Nigerian tertiary healthcare institutions (teaching and general hospitals).

Once they get the funds to get more of these facilities and spread them around the country (through the private placement), some of the radiological and laboratory investigations as well as radiologically-guided interventional procedures which can only be done outside Nigeria will be handled by Union Diagnostics.

I give an example. The nearest place one can get a polymerase chain reaction profiling (popularly called DNA tests) which are used in solving paternity and forensic cases, is in South Africa. The average cost of a DNA test is between $1000 and $1500.

When equipment to handle such sophisticated procedures are brought in by Union Diagnostics, they will be able to maintain a powerful monopoly in the Healthcare subsector the way Aliko Dangote has done in the Building Materials subsector.

Hospitals which have to rely on outdated methods of laboratory and radiological diagnosis because of unavailable access to newer methods will be able to offer patients better healthcare because of improved access to these newer methods.

Other nearby African countries like Ghana, Cameroun, Benin Republic, Niger Republic, etc who do not have access to such facilities can also provide a ready market for Union Diagnostics, as I am aware that the company has plans to reach out beyond Nigeria.

If companies in the Healthcare sector like EKOCORP that cannot match such credentials can sell above N5, I do not see why Union Diagnostics cannot.

The possibilities and outlook for this company are too bright to be ignored. I am buying BIG TIME!

I can send him the money via Western Union.

My online payments site, http://www.epaypanel.com carries out such payments. But in doing this, you must realise that there are limits to amounts you can send abroad legally.

If you are interested and ready to pay the necessary transaction costs, simply email me on info@epaypanel.com.

Forget buying via public offer.

Get it via cross deal instead. That way, while the rest of the populace will be waiting for share certificates, you will have the stock in your CSCS account, waiting for the capital appreciation that will follow this offer.

As a student, you are entitled to free services from Nairastocks.com. Send me an email and I will show you how to go about it, and give you some little education generally on stocks.
