Ethnic, Racial, Or Sectarian Politics / Re: Answers To Common Questions About Igbo People by EzeUche(m): 4:13pm On Aug 22, 2012
The Igbo origin is interesting. But I think the Igbo, Yoruba, Idoma, Igala and Edo come from a single source in Eastern Africa.

No one in this thread is willing to admit this, but the groups I mentioned have a common ancestor.

bright007: Igbos are the most confused set of people in d niger area. They want to claim everything on their path. They have forgotten dat language alone cannot be used to identify d true root of å group of people.

If you use our language, you answer Igbo names and your culture is Igbo, what does that make you? It makes you Igbo.

Oil has cause some Igbo clans brains to become rotten. Remember that Amaechi wants to become president of Nigeria so will he finally answer his Igbo name, because his only chance of winning is if he gets Igbo support. He should just ask Goodluck who started answering the name Azikiwe.

killayut: Some Igbo people will never stop claiming us the Eastern Ijaws.

You Eastern Ijaws were not even called Eastern Ijaw until recently. Before you were simply Okrika, Kalabari, Ibani and Nkoroo.

Remember that Port Harcourt (Iguocha) belongs to the Ndigbo. And that is why Rivers state will be controlled by people who have Igbo names.

geeez:

Someone in the ND once said, ''my own is not the same thing as our own". Speak for yourself and not other tribes. It's amazing that the same people you are saying will go with you are screaming blue murder on this same thread! How sad.

You are talking to someone who doesn't give a damnn if the Igbos have allies or not in Biafra. All the other groups form their own nation, but Port Harcourt (Iguocha) will be within Biafra just like the Delta Igbo.

My brothers insistence of finding allies makes the Igbo look weak, even though we have the resources and expertise to form our own nation

God bless Igboland. Igbo FIRST

Politics / Re: Picture Of Nigeria Divided: Is This The Future? by EzeUche(m): 3:47am On Aug 21, 2012
I find Non-Eastern people and Igbos themselves do not know who supports who in the East.

The majority of Ijaw do not support Biafra, even though a few Ijaw clans did support Biafra. They see the Igbos as a threat to their dominance of the Niger Delta. And consider themselves the 4th largest group even thogh the Ibibio/Annang/Efik would be the 4th largest group if they were united. But their divisions are worse than the divisions between the hinterland Igbos and the Igbos closer to the coast. And it has nothing to do with oil.

The Ibibios would join the Igbo, but the Efik are wary of Igbos. Annang are 50/50. I know how Ibibios feel about the Igbo as many of you already know because I am half Ibibio.

Efik and Annang could be persuaded to join Biafra along with other Niger Deltan groups who fear Ijaw expansions which is REAL.

Mrs.Chima:

Igbo is an Igbo regardless if they have been contaminated with other etnicities or not....what would you tell a child that has an igbo father and an Edo mother?? That she is not Igbo because she has been contaminated??

Ridiculous.

The population of Igbos taken in the Diaspora is very UNCLEAR. But we do know the number of Igbos who have recently arrived in the Diaspora.

Any child born to an Igbo man is an Igbo. Regardless if that child's mother is white, Asian, Latino or any other group. Stop overreacting.

Dudu_Negro: You should be worried about your image in society and be less preoccupied about how you look online.

The Igbo people image is already solidified as a hard working/industrious people who have suffered much.

Now go somewhere else and stop bothering the Ndi Igbo.

Why are Igbos jumping for joy about oil?

Haven't people realized by now that oil is a curse?

It is not like this new oil find will help anyone but the elites.

I think the Wikipedia page on the Igbo people need to be cleaned up.

Our population section is unclear as well as the number of Igbos in the Diaspora. We should not include the Igbos that were taken during slavery, because they have been assimilated into wider black culture within the Caribbean and North America.

The page really needs to be cleaned up.
