Politics / International Criminal Court Slams Nigerian Government by finaly01: 7:01pm On Jan 05, 2020
The ICC expressed its disappointment in its latest report showing findings of preliminary examination activities in countries experiencing terrorism activities.

The International Criminal Court, through the Office of the Prosecutor, has slammed the Nigerian Government for failing to prosecute security forces and Boko Haram terrorists for crimes against humanity.
The ICC expressed its disappointment in its latest report showing findings of preliminary examination activities in countries experiencing terrorism activities.
According to the ICC, there have been a wide range of crimes against humanity committed in Nigeria but only little effort from the government to punish perpetrators.
While the international court acknowledges that the Nigerian authorities appear to have taken a number of steps towards ascertaining the criminal responsibility of alleged perpetrators, it reckons that the investigative and prosecutorial activities undertaken to date in relation to both members of Boko Haram and security forces have been limited both in their scope and depth.
It said, “The Office has examined information regarding a wide range of alleged crimes committed on the territory of Nigeria. The Office has been able to arrive at subject-matter determinations on the majority of allegations concerning crimes against humanity and war crimes allegedly committed by Boko Haram members and members of the NSF from 2009 until early 2019.
“There was a reasonable basis to believe that between 1 January 2013 and 31 March 2015, both Boko Haram and the NSF committed crimes under the ICC’s jurisdiction, including war crimes and crimes against humanity.
“With respect to sexual and gender-based crimes and crimes committed against children, the Office previously found a reasonable basis to believe that Boko Haram’s specific targeting of both females and males constitute acts of persecution on gender grounds.
“The Office has also found during the reporting period a reasonable basis for believing that members of the NSF persecuted on gender grounds military aged males suspected of being Boko Haram members or supporters.
“Other allegations that the Office has been reviewing include allegations with respect to the conduct of the NSF against members of the Indigenous People of Biafra and communal violence in Nigeria’s North Central and North East geographical zones.
“The information available suggests while some investigation and/or prosecutorial steps have been or are being taken by the authorities to ascertain the criminal responsibility of suspected Boko Haram members, these appear limited in scope and depth.
“With respect to allegations against members of the NSF, the information available similarly indicates only a limited number of proceedings have been conducted against members of the NSF.
“These include the absence of legislative provisions addressing certain categories of conduct; the persistence of the armed conflict; inadequate investigation files; an over-reliance on confession-based evidence; a lack of forensic evidence; limited cooperation between investigators and prosecutor at pre-investigation stages; logistical difficulties, inadequate security for counsels, and the challenges of converting military intelligence to admissible evidence.
“In particular, according to the information available, it does not appear that the authorities are investigating and/or prosecuting cases concerning substantially the same conduct or cases that are otherwise similar to those identified by the Office. To date, the repeated commitment of the Nigerian authorities to provide the Office with relevant information in this respect has not materialised.
“During 2020, the Office will continue to urge the Nigerian authorities to tangibly demonstrate that they are indeed fulfilling their primary responsibility to investigate and prosecute ICC crimes, in the absence of which the Office will need to come to its own determination with respect to the admissibility of the potential cases it has identified.

Politics / Re: Debt: Nigeria Risks Bankruptcy Under Buhari ― Obasanjo by finaly01: 7:01am On Dec 29, 2019
[color=#000099]As at 2015, total external debt was about $10.32billion. In four years, our external debt grew to N24,947 trillion or $81.274 billion. To service this current level of indebtedness, we must commit at least 50 per cent of our foreign earnings, such a situation tells about an impending bankruptcy because no entity can survive while devoting 50 per cent of its revenue to debt servicing.
Politics / Re: The Inconsistency Of Allah In The Quran by finaly01: 5:30am On Dec 27, 2019
IAmStrange:
grin grin

look at these people again... I always said it that you people appear to the world like you are straightforward and psychologically advanced but actually you are hypocritical and foolish.

You first of all said that.. that the Quran says that.. . "The Prophet is closer to the believers than their ourselves and his wives are their mothers as regards respect and marriage"

But this is actually what's written in the Quran:

The Prophet is closer to the believers than their selves, and his wives are (as) their mothers. And the owners of kinship are closer one to another in the ordinance of Allah than (other) believers and the fugitives (who fled from Mecca), except that ye should do kindness to your friends. This is written in the Book (of nature). - Quran 33:6

Where did you see as regards respect and marriage there?

You deliberately included that to suit your claims. You lied!!! I've always known you for this. you've been doing this following the path of your mentor liar SHAMOUN the WORLD CLASS LIARgrin You remember? grin

Now that's the actual verse.

Then you also said that it's because of that that Allah forbade the Muslims from marrying his wives. You were linking your "fabricated verse" with the second verse.

This is the actually verse - the second one:

O Ye who believe! Enter not the dwellings of the Prophet for a meal without waiting for the proper time, unless permission be granted you. But if ye are invited, enter, and, when your meal is ended, then disperse. Linger not for conversation. Lo! that would cause annoyance to the Prophet, and he would be shy of (asking) you (to go); but Allah is not shy of the truth. And when ye ask of them (the wives of the Prophet) anything, ask it of them from behind a curtain. That is purer for your hearts and for their hearts. And it is not for you to cause annoyance to the messenger of Allah, nor that ye should ever marry his wives after him. Lo! that in Allah's sight would be an enormity. - Quran 33:53

As you can see from the above, Allaah was giving commandments to those who "believe". The part that you quoted is not the only thing in that verse. Rather, Allaah was giving commandments as you can see above and that particular commandment (don't marry His wives) happens to be part of it.

First, where is your evidence that it's because Allaah regarded them as our mothers that Allaah commanded us not to marry them?

It's forbidden to marry His wives as respect to Him (peace be upon him). It's in respect, acknowledging the status of the Prophet and also that of his wives.

Secondly, I want you to know that His wives being our mothers in that verse is metaphorical. They are not our actual mothers but they are "as" our mothers because of their position. It's in terms of reverence and in that sense, the Prophet is also like a father to us if you mean in terms of reverence and not actual or blood father.

But the father that Allaah was talking about in this verse that you quoted, he was talking about an actual father; a blood father:

“Muhammad is not the father of any of your
men, but he is the Messenger of Allaah and the
last (end) of the Prophets. And Allaah is Ever
All‑Aware of everything”
[al-Ahzaab 33:40]

But first I'll like to point it out to you that you told another lie here because the verse is not Quran 3;144 but it is Quran 33:40 grin shocked

Ahh ahn! LIAR Contract killer, take it easy nah grin you've told two lies already.. two fabrications!! This shows that you do not actually go to the Quran to pick out those verses but you wrote them by yourself as you deemed fit. That proves the insincerity in you! grin

So to continue, that verse, Allaah was making it clear that though the Prophet may be like a father to you because of his status, he is not our actual father!!!

And this even reflects common sense. Because first, actually, he didn't give birth to us. So the ruling on blood father to his son doesn't apply between us. Allah was making that clear.

Secondly, if the Prophet were to be regarded as our actual father, then he won't be able to marry women because the ruling on father and daughter-in-law would apply between him and that particular woman if the woman happens to be the daughter of a Muslim.

Thirdly, Allaah revealed that verse to clarify that an "adopted" son isn't an actual son and should not be regarded as one therefore the ruling on blood ties between a father and his biological son shouldn't apply between a man and his "adopted" son.

But because you wanted to spite Islam and the Prophet, you twisted the whole idea and said it was to satisfy his sexual urges and your fellow ignorant "dumbasses" were agreeing with you.

you even lied... twice!! just to substantiate your false claims.

You see your life? You keep disgracing yourself every now and then. LIAR SHAMOUN has destroyed your life and turned u to a dumbass and LIAR grin

Now since you want to talk about depravity and obscenity, I'll take you on a journey into the bible grin grin

Chai! You've quickly changed it. Now You've proven your intentions very clearly. LIAR! NOW I know more about you people. You people will go to any length to bring Islam down. You first wrote 3:144... I saw it clearly. I went to search for it. I couldn't find it in the Quran app. It was when I entered it in Google that I saw the actual reference

But look at your life grin

When you tried to change it, you could not even change it correctly. You didn't eventually put the Correct thing. It's actually 33:40. You wrote 3:144 before but when you wanted to lie and change it, you changed it to 3:40. You changed it to 3 instead of 33... grin

SEE below:

Chai! LIAR SHAMOUN HAS destroyed your life. You just showed me more who you really are and this has even given more more reason not to reply you next time.

Kudos bro

FactsAndTruth:

That GEJ sidelined yorubas is the biggest lie of the century. The only problem they had with GEJ was that he gave Igbos a sense of belonging, they considered it an abomination that an GEJ appointed the first Igbo chief of Army post-war.

They considered it a taboo that GEJ appointed the first Igbo I.G post-war.

They considered it a taboo, that Okonjo-Iweala was Minister of finance and determined when federal money should be saved. They slandered the woman and claimed she was corrupt but she is still doing well today at the global level and it still pains some of them.

If Okonjo had been caught forging certificates like Kemi Adeosun did before her disgraceful exit, we wouldn't hear the last of till today. Yoruba columnists will still be talking about it today.

Under GEJ, a yoruba minister flourished, built his profile and today is the president of African development bank. Yorubas have never given GEJ that accolade for helping Adesina catapult himself to the top.

Embracing the Igbos (who lost the war) was his sins, not sidelining the yorubas. We are not all fools in this country na.
You are right but the truth remains that in a complex country like Nigeria you need political bridge to remain relevant. I have a lot to say but I just hope understand my position

The later is y u do not trust a yoruba
Example is metaphysical several months ago ,he was speaking like a man who wants to liberate oduduwa from all shackles of bondage from centre, he attacked buhari in so many ways , he made friends through that including me ,now the same metaphysical is praising buhari and his administration ,that buhari did more Dan Jonathan ,yaradua and obj put together , I was so disappointed ,

I have checked igbos here no one has swinged , the once that hate abakaliki has been hating them since 2009 ,the once that hate buhari , obiano and Kanu has been doing ,but when taught a lesson will open a thread to say " I now support Kanu" because swinging brings shame

Yoruba people have a lot of work to do their dented reputation as a politically unstable and wavering people.

Nobody wants to risk being fooled more than once.

Start with your family units, churches and mosques and teach your children how to be honorably stand by political principles without wavering, come what may, even at the risk of your lives.

Maybe then the rest of south may be ready to risk their toenails to go into a political alliance with you.
You have a point but let also look at how Jonathan administration sidelined them politically in terms of appointment, They knew the risk involved but they have no choice.

Politics / What 'll Happen To Yoruba Race. Primate Elijah Babatunde Ayodele by finaly01: 6:37am On Nov 27, 2019
Revered clergyman and one of the most accurate Prophets presently in Africa, His Excellency Primate Elijah Babatunde Ayodele, has revealed what lies ahead of Yoruba race in Nigeria before the demise of Ooni of Ife, HRM Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja 11.
The Prophet who is the founder of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Iyana Isolo, Ejigbo, Lagos State and has been credited with many accurate prophecies said this during his last Church service held hours ago that, "quote me anywhere, there will be a Yoruba nation before the demise of Ooni of Ife, Oba Ogunwusi Enitan."
He said, "I'm not just saying it. I am telling you this authoritatively as an ambassador of God that before the king joins his ancestors, Yoruba nation will emerge from the present day Nigeria."
This is not the first time Primate Elijah Ayodele will make controversial prophecies like this, he once said before the 2019 general elections in Nigeria that Senator Bukola Saraki is the only PDP candidate that can wrestle power from President Mohammed Buhari if given the party's ticket to run.
He also told Osun State Senator, Ademola Adeleke, in a widely publiscised broadcast that he can never become the governor of State of Osun and it came to past.
With this recent proclamation, do you see a possible Yoruba nation, or it's another diarrhea of the mouth. What is or are thoughts?

Business / Allen Onyema Mistake... Purchasing 30 Aircrafts From Embraer And Not Boeing? by finaly01: 6:01am On Nov 27, 2019
There are strong indications that Allen Onyema’s travail regarding the money laundering charges from the US may not be unconnected with his recent decision to order 30 brand new aircraft from European manufacturer Embraer, at the expense of its America rival, Boeing.
Recall that in April 2019, Air Peace placed a record order for 10 brand new Embraer 195-E2 planes, first of such in Africa. The order comprises purchase rights for another 20 E195-E2 jets. The request has 124-seater jet in dual class and 146-seater jet in single class configurations.
Some stakeholders who are involved in international business transactions have averred that the deal which was valued at N640.5 billion ($2.12 billion) based on current list prices, may have provoked the American government to anger thus the recourse to money laundering charges to punish Mr. Onyema for not patronizing its brand.
Baron Roy, an international business man who offered his opinion on a Facebook post said such speculation may not be unfounded. “I am involved in purchasing some equipment for industrial use too. A very large local competitor had been purchasing from a manufacturer in the USA until a Chinese company came along to offer him a 60% off.
“He purchased about 6 units at a million bucks each as against 14m from the US manufacturer. The US firm reported the issue and our competitor got the Onyema treatment. He was banned for 10 years (still counting) from the US while his family lives there. The rest of us got the message and changed tact.
“We buy some from the US but we have our ways of buying others from China through proxies so as not to get into trouble. Next time, he buys Boeing and all would be well. Trust me on this,” he said.
Baron also blamed Onyema for running a porous corporate governance system which left loopholes for the money laundering charges. He noted that he should have placed the business in the hands of experts while he took a backseat. “I know at least 5 persons personally that are far richer, controlling huge firms but no one knows them! He's too visible and too involved. Corporate Governance,” he said.
He was corroborated by another businessman, Ubong Kingsley-Udoh, who runs a cyber security firm in Lagos. “Allen Onyema's biggest fault in all of these is the lack of corporate governance in his organisation and as we know it, a large percentage of Nigerian founded organisations and multinationals operating in Nigeria are guilty of this dysfunction. Moving forward, Air Peace need to shore up its defenses and run like a properly structured organisation.
“What Allen Onyeama did is very permissible within the constructs of the Nigerian society (aka anyhowness), and if you read the charge from the DoJ, if he was purchasing those planes and moving monies like that in some countries in Europe, it might not have been a problem. For the Chairman & CEO of an airline to act as the CFO and being responsible for purchase of line items when that could have been done conveniently through partners without raising an eyebrow speaks a lot on how we handle business.
“The DoJ in its briefing said, "Members of the public are reminded that the indictment only contains charges. The defendants are presumed innocent of the charges and it will be the government’s burden to prove the defendant’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt at trial."
So, Mr. Allen Onyema is presently innocent and will prove his case to the US government beyond every shadow of a doubt. Hopefully, he will get support from the government of his home Country.

janetdaniels201:
OFFICE OF THE VICE PRESIDENT
PRESS RELEASE

BUHARI'S EASE OF DOING BUSINESS REFORMS WILL BRING DRAMATIC CHANGES TO THE ECONOMY, SAYS OSINBAJO

*VP receives 2019 Compliance Report on Executive Order 001 on promotion of efficiency in Nigeria's business environment

The Buhari administration will continue its determined pursuit of reforming Nigeria's business environment until the full attainment of the objectives, which will bring dramatic changes in the country's economy, according to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN.

Prof. Osinbajo made the assertion while receiving at the Presidential Villa earlier today, the 2019 Compliance Report of the Presidential Executive Order 001 which was on the promotion of transparency and efficiency in the business environment.

The report was presented by the Minister of State on Industry, Trade and Investment Mariam Katagum and the Special Adviser to the President on Ease of Doing Business, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole during the meeting of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council, PEBEC attended by a representative of the Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Honourable Dolapo Badru, who is the House Committee Chairman on Industries, nine federal ministers, the Ag. Head of Service, Mrs. Folasade Yemi-Esan, and several heads of government agencies.

Besides, the Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, other Ministers at the meeting included the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, SAN; Works and Housing Minister, Babatunde Fashola, SAN; Interior Minister, Rauf Aregbesola; Information Minister, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, and the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Mohammed Bello. Others are Police Affairs Minister, Mohammed Dangadi; Transport Minister of State, Gbemisola Saraki; and the Minister of State for Power, Godwin Agba.

According to the Vice President, "we will keep updating ourselves on the progress of the ease of doing business reforms," while noting some of the progress already recorded in the last three years since the commencement of the ease of doing business reforms.

For instance, in 2017, in the World Bank Doing Business Ranking, Nigeria moved up 24 places and was also listed among the top ten reforming economies in the world. This year the World Bank also named Nigeria one of the top-20 improvers in doing business out of 190 countries.

Among the notable results of the reforms, besides the better ranking by the World Bank Doing Business Rankings and commendations include that the Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS, launched a centralized e-payment channels contributing to a 20% reduction in time businesses spent on documentation and payment of taxes, the launching by the Immigration authorities of a fully digitized e-visa process guaranteeing visa approvals in 48 hours, how the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, re-engineered registration processes and reduced processing time from 12 to less than 3 months, and how the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, improved user experience at airports by eliminating passenger service charge stickers and manual check-in bag searches.

Some of the other results recorded include how the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, simplified company registration processes, resulting in 50% reduction in processing time and the passage by the National Assembly of the Credit Reporting Act 2017, among others.

Commending the collaboration with the National Assembly on driving the reforms, and urging for the eventual attainment of all the other outstanding reform objectives, the Vice President noted that, "if we can clean up our business environment, the difference would be dramatic."

Deji7474:
However there is a tweak to it:

Under the subsidy regime of the Jonathan government, oil marketers were paid bogus amounts of monies to cover for their expenses to supply the country fuel and maintain the price at an affordable amount - this led to the enriching of a few and impoverishing of the country, as most of the oil marketers did not even make any deliveries to Nigeria but were paid billions of Naira. Some others took crude oil to Ghana and Benin Republic but where paid as well.

Under the new system which operates under the Buhari’s government, oil marketers do not receive money from government. Instead, NNPC bears the cost of the differential and takes the hit on their own balances by ensuring that the price of petrol remains at N145 regardless of the fact that the landing cost has increased in such a way to make the 145 unprofitable.

In this new arrangement - which is called UNDER-RECOVERY - the Nigerian consumers benefit and not the marketers. If this is not done, the price of fuel would shoot up and the President has said he would never allow that happen.

What the government is doing to put an end to this regime, which is in itself a short term solution - is to fix our refineries including encouraging private sector involvement.

Chief Financial Officer of NNPC, Mr. Isiaka AbdulRazaq, who traced the advent of the subsidy regime to October, 2003 when NNPC was directed by government to commence the purchase of domestic crude oil at international market price without a corresponding liberalization of the regulated price of petroleum products noted that the subsidy regime has changed.

He explained that under the Jonathan subsidy regime, NNPC and other suppliers of refined petroleum products were entitled to file subsidy claims to the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA).

Mr. AbdulRasaq, however, noted that unlike oil marketers, under the under-recovery regime NNPC did not receive cash payment for subsidy claims as its claims were deducted out of cost payment to the Federation Account after due certification by PPPRA.
What u don't understand is that under GEJ, the money flows through the marketers to the general populace and there was plenty for everybody to share but under APC, the money flows through few individuals in the NNPC to their offshore accounts and there was recession, inflation, hunger and lost of jobs in the country
