Islam for Muslims / Re: Franck Ribery Furious Over Beer Bath by free R1: 8:47pm On May 18
Go to India and publicly request for beef, see what happens. Organize a part, feed a white vegetarian with meat and see what will happen. Remove the fact that he is a muslim and consider other scenarios, then you will understand to respect people's believes.

Oh my God, what do you have for brains? Do you even know how appalling those frivolous words are? If I say you are a simpleton, please take that as a compliment.

Please with due respect, anyone who doesn't bear a deep intuitive understanding to discern the inward nature of this situation should kindly take several back seats.

How dismissively ignorant some of you can be! How could you even think 3 teenagers would run away from their famiilies and actually enjoy being molested/ill-treated by an abductor.

Let me give your vacuumed black head something to visualize. Three teenagers in a cold hardware room. The only window is ceiling-high and covered with thick nylon bags. Probably, there is even a surveillance camera in the room to which these inhumane abductors watch in turns. They push in tiny bits of food to them through a small space in a door most likely made of steel.

Dear Michael skullfield, how do you plan on breaking out?

Must you ACN supporters resort to bare face LIES since stretching the truth of aerodome-turned-cargo-airport does not suffice huh
Remember this thread:

http://www.nairaland.com/807356/osun-farmers-head-lagos-aregbesolas

on this same forum some 15 months ago huh

What did I say about unsustainable, media-friendly initiatives that hurts the tax-paying, long-suffering residents of the state of the living spring?

This is not about ACN or PDP, it is about simple economics. Your point noted, "the rail is working" but the airport serves a good purpose too. I expect export to international markets soon. The airport in Osun will create employment and also generate revenue for the state "that is fact". I also expect the state to begin marketing its tourism potentials especially the Osun Oshogbo festival. An airport in the state will also be excellent for this purpose.
Politics / Re: Osun Names Airport After Abiola by free R1: 3:38pm On May 03
misterh: This is not about remaining stagnant. It's called scale of preference in basic economics. There are better issues to contend with. The capital city, Osogbo is the only place where enough economic activities take place. Others are just small towns where majority of the people there are low income earners. It's not to bulid airports but will airlines patronise your airport?

Scale of preference does not fly here. Let me educate you a little bit. Osun is a land locked state which is a serious disadvantage for any economy because of the restrictions of the mode of transportation to air, road and rail. The rail is clearly not there so this calls for good air and road system. If Osun can develop its agricultural sector which is clearly doing and make it as good as that in Kwara state, air system will definitely be needed. I will expect them to target the international market. People here have argued that the airports in Ibadan and Lagos is enough for this purpose but why should he create more jobs for the other states when he is not in "full employment economy" and why should he not maximize the state’s revenue generating from agriculture, mining and now aviation? Its basic economics, true!!

Most people and I may not like Tinubu but this further buttresses the fact that the man is a true leader; APGA has 2 sitting governors with so many crises. ACN has 6 governors and several legislators but you rarely hear of crisis. I think this is the reason PDP is scared of this man.

Techwriter: There is no need for a response. Kukah said his mind based on his level of understanding and does not represent the opinion of most of us who believe nothing wrong with our pastors having the good things of life provided it was gotten legit. Oyedepo for instance has never taken any political stance, he is not seeking the favor of any political leader to be relevant. He is not seeking their favor for anytn.

I respect Pst Tunde Bakare so much, infact I campaigned for and voted for him in the last election even though I know he sometimes speaks b4 editing. He is still anointed and he is a prophet but he should not join the camp of the accuser of the brethren. Kukahs own is understandable becos the leadership of CAN has left the erstwhile cold catholic approach to become a voice of its own

I bet you were not in Nigeria when Bishop Oyedepo was flown to Saudi and he told us Yaradua was in good health and he spoke to him, we all know now that it was a lie; if he does not get any favor from govt why lie? The problem with Nigerians is that we forget!!!

Me: Yes, I did
VO: Which schools?
Me: I named the 3 other schools
VO: Did u write the GRE?
Me: Yes
VO: What were your scores?
ME: I mixed up the scores for the verbal and quantitative but quickly corrected it and told him.

kpolli: Dear all,

I know this myt sound negative but am going to give this advice anyway. . .
All these "I just finished Uni, I wanna go do my masters next year in USA, how do I achieve this?" Makes it sound as if you are desperate to escape (sorry to say). . .
First do your nysc (during my interview I was asked if I had done this). . .

Secondly, gain some working experience b4 you go for your masters. . . It makes you employable when u get ur degree . . . Most employees look down on Masters holders with no work experience cos you can't be employed as a graduate trainee but fact is u still need to be trained. . . So don't rush out yet, don't be desperate. . .

Probably this myt be why some of u r rejected but u won't be told so. . .

Yes there are exceptions but most of u wud be rejected (sad truth)

I totally agree with the finish your NYSC suggestion but the other part, not really. It all depends on your plan and God's favor. If you are a top student, after your masters, Yankee Coys can employ you straight and apply for 5yrs work visa for you. If this happens the your experience would be better valued than the nigerian one. Some people without being top also get employed nd get der work visas after MSc. The koko is, have infos, you don't av to marry white babe to change status, there are a lot of visa categories we have no idea abt. So the plan is simple, go to school, finish, try to get a job and get your work visa (never say impossible)!

-B.Sc. microbiology, CGPA 3.48/5.00.

-Already started online application
process for 2 schools (Uni of Cincinnati* Environmental Health: Industrial
Hygiene* & Kent state Uni *MPH*).
Should complete by next week &
submit. Supporting documents will be submitted later.

-Studying hard for GRE, making
progress, intend taking it b4 end of
August.

-Applied for transcript at uni, shld be ready in about 3-4 weeks. -Will contact schools today to see if i
can apply for Ph.D straight (+M.S.
Combined) *to increase chances of
getting funding*

Questions:

1) Considering the time for decisions,
Visa processing etc, is a January start
date still feasible/possible? *yeah i kno
its a bit risky*

2) Does anyone have any info aspa
these two schools especially as regards
graduate scholarships/GA, RA e.t.c.

2b) Is TOEFL really necessary

3) Any other info that could be of
benefit? Thanks everyone. Cheers.[/quote]

If you are really interested in funding, I think you should target August (Fall). Schools financial year begin in August and this is when money for funding is budgeted for. Larger part of that money is used up at this period, which makes getting funds in spring and summer a bit difficult (not impossible)so due to your CGPA ie your are not that strong (blv me, your transcript is like d most important doc considered), I suggest you consider fall or try for spring, if you don't get funds, differ till Fall and re-apply for funds.
Answers to the other questions would be on the schools website, you would see stuff like toefl is waived for students from countries where english is there official language, so you can free toefl if that's the case. Before applying for GA, RA etc, check for Profs that share your research interest, mail them, tell them about your interest (some won't reply) but the koko is write your SOP and GA essay if required like you are directing it to them, much focus on your research area and what you have done to guarantee ur success in it.

First, GEJ has d mandate to setup strong institutions to build a strong economy, which will provide you good and sustainable job to make u busy. So you won't av time 2 be brain washed 2 kill urself. IF THIS FAILS,

Second, He has d mandate to setup strong institutions that will get intelligent reports on people brain washing people, so that they can be arrested and prosecuted. Again you wud av bn saved. IF THIS FAILS,

Third, He has d mandate to setup strong institutions that will prevent you from making or getting bombs. IF THIS FAILS,

Fourth, He has d mandate to setup strong institutions that will get intelligent reports on possible attacks so that they can prevent u from harming ursef nd others. IF THIS FAILS!!! Then he is grossly incompetent.

This incompetence is similar to the Barclay's Bank CEO and Goldman sacs CEO resignation. They did not directly commit d atrocities but bcus they failed to setup frame works 2 prevent such, it is termed incompetence, therefore, they had 2 b eased off.

Papa50000: I picked up my visa Friday at the lekki office. This is how my interview went.

VO: What school
Told him
VO: Why this school?
Told him.
There are many reasons that makes your own school unique. I got this kind of information from the school website.
VO: Looks at my I_20 and asks who wants to sponsor you?
I told him my elder brother
VO: He says so your elder brother has all this money?
I told him yes o(yes sir, no say yes o lol)
VO: He says what does he do?
He owns a ___ business and I work for the company too.
VO: what does the company do, I told him.
VO: He asked me to list the assets we own
I listed it(Use professional terms where necessary)
VO: What is the revenue of the company?
I told him
VO: He says he meant revenue not income. Dunno why he wanted revenue and income story> I told him the revenue and income sharply.
VO: What university did you attend.
I told him
VO: Did u write a test
I said Gmat
VO: Where is the test result
I showed him
He goes through the test results
VO: Did you apply to any other schools?
YES 2 SCHOOLS
VO: He says what schools
Listed it, A and B
VO: He said did I get accepted?
I said I got accepted to B
VO: But not A?
I said I was not accepted to A
VO: What is your salary?
I told him
VO: You earn that?
I said yes o(yes sir, no say yes o lol)
VO: He then said what will I do when I finish my program
I said I will take on more duties at the firm I work for. ride on and say the specifics linking it to what you will gain in your masters or undergraduate program.
After he gave me the ticket. He chatted me up a bit. after which I said thank you and pulled out.
Quotes in this forum kept me going as I took out 2-3 weeks preparing for my interview.

Keys I think worked for me.
1. I dressed well. Some say dress well, some say it does not matter. See what I think, to be on the safe side I think u should. There are some questions they will ask you, your image will help you convey the answer more than your answer itself. Look like the case you presenting. I don't mean if you are a civil engineer that you should wear an helmet. lol. My thoughts.
2. Be humble. If u make a mistake like I did in an instance look and act sorry, not too sorry sha, Like sorry sir I did not know that is what you meant. Be brave and listen attentively for the next questions so your shine comes back. The VO gave the guy before me the green ticket, but the guy before this guy was I dont know what word. The VO asked him what university did you attended, he said, I attended the prestigious University of ....... I wonder why the word prestigious! What is your salary? He said my basic salary is about 170 thousand and allowances are bla bla bla. I think concise answers help. His whole interview went along that line. Then it got to what was your favorite subject in school? He said accounting. then what is accounting? He did not define it well from what I heard sha..
3. if he chats you up... respond well and interestingly
4. Did not know he was giving me till he cut the ticket...So u have to be composed all thru...hope for the best in that little time.
God is on the throne. Cheers.

Congrats bro, when you deey fly?

Yes, the bank statement is good and Yes you should go with the toefl, printout will do. A study leave will do a lot of good. It should indicate you will be back to your current job. Also, know the added benefit you will get from the UG course which will be beneficial to your current job.

What has the above to do with governments paying sallah ram bonuses?

Billyonaire: Its not enough to sit behind the computer and make statements, those soldiers out there, under the rain and sun, sleepless nights and putting their lives on the line to protect the rest of us, and you think they are not humans like you and I ? Be appreciative of the little successes.

How am I so sure its a success? Antecedence speaks for itself.

Billyonaire: I am not sure you even understand what you are saying and what you mean by law taking its course " The natural law says, he who kills by the sword, should die by the sword." Natural laws are superior to all others, now which laws are you talking about ?

Very correct but the question is who attacked first, Law enforcement or Yusuf? What really lead to the burning of police station which started this mess? Just to inform you, no one not even natural law (nature) can brand someone a criminal except a competent court of appropriate Jurisdiction or any authority which has been conferred with such powers. And to fault your natural law, He who kills by the sword might be insane ie won't die by the sword but be helped to get better ie the Norway case killings grin

All we hear of is funny names and funny Aboki faces are paraded, thereafter more attacks, BH will then deny the capture of their people and call the media and SSS liars. Who make we believe sef for this matter. Ok, let SSS capture Shekau. at least we have seen his face on his youtube videos and can identify him, let them do that and they will get credit from me. For now, abeg make this news shift for other true or comedy news.
